Kazue POV

I've successfully joined up with Andrew-san and his party.

The place we are now is at an empty cavern I discover earlier.

It was also the safest place that Isamu and Hayate have found.

For that reason, they left John and Mirva at this place to rest.

This place is where I found a mountain of treasure.

From the looks of it, this area was supposed to be a monster house.

But, for some reason it was empty.

[I wonder why it was empty?]

I asked myself.

With some thinking, I now have an idea why it was empty.

This room was supposed to be the “Mini Boss” room provided for that Kobold General I just defeated.

There was a simple problem with this analogy.

Monsters residing inside a monster house never leave that area.

No one knows the reason but it was “common sense” that monsters do not leave monster houses.

If that was the case, why did I find this place to be empty?

I could only think of one reason.

That reason was, Kobe Yasuo.

According to the information that the “Rite of Equinox” revealed, he was a reincarnated person from our world.

It seems that the gods of this world reincarnated him in this world.

[I guess, he was an “irregular”? He must be the reason why those monsters left this monster house empty. Instead of staying here, Yasuo must have caused the kobolds in the area to leave the monster house and instead moved into the passageways. Yeah, that must be the reason.]

I nod at the plausibility of my theory, and I am quite confident that this was the case.

As I was deep in thought I did not notice that Andrew-san was calling for me.

I only noticed that he was calling for my attention when he called out my name loudly, he called out for me what one can call “screaming”.

“LITTLE MISS!”

“Y-yes?!”

Startled, I quickly replied.

It seems that he was trying to call for me for quite some time now.

Despite calling out for me with a loud voice, I did not notice him.

I was not paying attention to him at all, that is why he resorted to screaming.

“What is it, Andrew-san?”

With an awkward smile, I face Andrew-san and asked for the reason he called.

“-sigh- finally… I was asking what to do from now on.”

“Ahuh…”

There was a blank expression on my face.

Even if they ask me, I don't have a plan.

I’ve not thought of what to do from now on so I could only look at him with a blank face.

“I am planning to leave the dungeon as soon as John and Mirva recover. I don’t think that our party can continue exploring the dungeon.”

“Well, I guess that’s a wise decision…”

I replied in my usual tone.

Then Andrew-san squinted his eyes at me.

“Oi… you’re not going to tell me that you’ll continue exploring the dungeon right?”

“Uhmnn…”

As I said earlier, I have no idea what to do next.

I asked myself, “Should I continue exploring the dungeon?”.

I estimated that with all the treasures, monster kills, and monster loots that I gathered.

I should more than have enough earnings to afford the (Cooking) skill scroll.

[Since Kobe Yasuo was a “Kobold General”. Then does that mean I’ll be rewarded with 1M DAL for defeating him? I should be, right? 1M!]

Maybe because I took my time thinking, Andrew-san made an annoyed look on his face.

I think he misunderstood this pause as me considering, "not willing to retreat and continue exploring the dungeon".

He became anxious and became agitated.

“HEY! DON’T TELL ME YOU STILL PLAN TO CONTINUE WITH A BROKEN ARM RIGHT?!”

To avoid further misunderstanding, I replied quickly.

[Right, I am not in the condition to continue my exploration. Just as Andrew-san pointed out, I will have trouble fighting with just one arm. I admit I have to forfeit that idea…]

“O-o-of course not!”

“Good that you understand your situation. I understand that you are craving more adventure since you’re still a youngster. It’s normal for a young adventurer to be adventurous but you need to know your limit or else... ---”

Andrew-san started lecturing me.

[I guess he's doing this because he's really worried about me?]

I was completely convinced by Andrew-san to exit the dungeon together with them.

We also decided to leave the dungeon together, as long as our groups are together the safer it will be.

To be honest, there is a part of me that wants to continue the exploration.

But I am not that stupid enough to push on, if I continue, I may get in trouble.

If I am to face a monster on the level of that Kobold general, I am confident that this time I will not make it.

During this dungeon run, I used up all of the MP and HP potions I bought before this event.

I have no means of recovering if I ever get injured.

Plus, I still have a broken arm.

And so, I dropped that idea and agreed to leave.

[Ha~ what a waste. I wanted to join the subjugation of the Kobold King.]

With that in mind, all I can do was sigh.

-sigh-

We made a camp in a large cavern and rested there.

We are also waiting for John-san and Mirva-san to wake up.

If the two would not wake up after some time we'll just carry them on our backs.

I think Isamu is capable enough to carry at least one of them comfortably on his back without much trouble.

Well, by the looks of it even if John-san wakes up he won’t be able to walk after all his legs were broken.

[I guess, I have to ask Isamu to carry him or something.]

**************

Day 3 of the dungeon exploration.

John-san and Mirva-san have woken up but they are not in the condition to walk.

But having them wake up is already a good thing.

By the morning of the 3rd day of the dungeon exploration.

We started to march toward the exit of the dungeon.

Isamu was carrying Mirva-san on his back while Tristan and Carl carried John-san in a makeshift Hammock.

They also tied John’s feet with clothes and sticks; it was quite similar to some “First Aid” methods in our world.

At the same time, Andrew-san and I wore a makeshift arm sling on our broken arm.

Funny...

We looked like a defeated party leaving the dungeon.

This made me think of those “side characters” in those isekai stories I saw, where some party of adventurers would return to the guild wearing makeshift bandages on their bodies.

Then, those defeated adventurers would tell the story of their encounter.

After which, those "side characters" will expose the existence of some “strong” or "Abnormal" monster.

Right now, I am one of those characters.

-lol-

And so we marched through the pathway I traversed during my exploration, this time in reverse.

Our march went smoothly, we encountered a total of 2 kobolds during the whole trip going back.

We encountered those two kobolds at 2 separate points during our exit.

Despite being injured, dealing with a single kobold is not a problem for us.

We easily defeated them, we did not encounter other problems other than that during the march.

Thus, we arrived earlier than expected.

By evening we reached the area where the 7 passageways diverged.

Reaching this point means that the exit was not far from here.

Upon reaching that area.

We encountered a party, relaxing in that location.

It was a party of 6 people.

I knew those people.

Like it was natural, my eyes were drawn toward the beautiful lady standing amongst them.

The lady wears a “Bikini Armor” painted in Red, gold, and white.

With her mesmerizing ruby-like eyes and crimson hair, she stood out amongst the crowd.

“Miss Lavi…”

Just as Andrew said, It was miss Lavi and the members of her party, Rubyguards.

Suddenly I was reminded, miss Lavi and her party were on stand-by during this event.

According to the discussion during the meeting at the guild a few days back, If something unexpected happened adventurers must notify miss Lavi.

Surely the appearance of the “Kobold General” within the passageway was one of those “unexpected” happenings that must be reported to her.

As such, we reported what happened.

Andrew-san ended up explaining everything to miss Lavi.

She listened to Andrew-san's story with a composed look on her face.

About the Kobold General that could talk and think like a human.

About how it set traps and tricks that pushed them to the point that they almost died.

About how the fact that I was the one who saved them.

Listening to that part of his report, I suddenly feel shy for some reason.

He explained it in a way that sounded like I was some kind of “hero” or something.

As he was telling this story, miss Lavi looked at me with an affectionate gaze, this only made me more embarrassed.

“I see… so that’s why you and your party are in such a state. To think that such monster exists in such place…”

For some reason, I feel that miss Lavi was not surprised by the existence of such a monster.

I have this feeling that she has encountered such a monster before.

I could not help but have that impression, and so I had to ask miss Lavi.

“Does miss Lavi knows about these kinds of monster? Or rather have you encountered such a monster before?”

As I asked that question, miss Lavi gave me an unexpected surprised face.

Her expression was speaking the word “Oh, how did you know?”.

She then nods at my question.

“Indeed, I have encountered such a monster before.”

With that reply, my interest was perked.

Just as I suspected, she has encountered such a monster before.

“Although… I don’t know if this monster and the monster I encountered before are related…”

I wanted to ask about that specific encounter with miss Lavi.

Miss Lavi noticed that I was very interested in it and as if to satisfy my curiosity, she decided to tell us a story about the monster she encountered in a dungeon in the country of Triana.

According to her story, it happened 2 years ago.

She encountered such a monster in a certain extermination mission.

It was a mission requesting the extermination of a Diamond Serpent, a B-ranked monster.

When she faced this monster back then.

She remembers how the monster was capable of speaking the human Language.

The monster was smart and did not act like your typical monster.

It was even stronger than the typical Diamond Serpent and was on the level of an A-ranked monster.

Since the monster was strong enough to even pose danger to her, she was unable to have a proper conversation with that monster.

Despite that, she was certain that it has an “ego” and was aware of the fact that it was a monster.

She guessed that the monster we encountered might have something in common with the monster she encountered before.

[Is the monster miss Lavi encountered a Reincarnator too?]

I came into deep thought.

Then, this time miss Lavi did not miss my expression and asked.

“Perhaps, miss Kazue has an idea about these monsters?”

I jerked with the unexpected question.

She was looking at me with sharp, observing eyes.

[Should I tell her about what I think? No… if I did I would be asked about how I knew about “Reincarnators”. Shaina has strictly advised me to hide the fact that I am related to “oracles”. Even if I manage to hide this fact… my identity as an “Otherworlder” might get exposed. I will only catch unwanted attention…]

“No… I have no idea.”

I lied with my best impression of a straight face.

Miss Lavi looked at me with the same kind of straight face.

She helplessly raised her shoulder and said…

“I see.”

She knew that I lied right?

I guess she’s willing to not talk about it?

She probably understood that it would be troublesome for me.

I sighed in relief knowing this.

“Miss Lavi!”

An adventurer appeared from one of the 7 passageways.

“Yes?”

Miss Lavi replied to that adventurer to probe his intention.

“I’m here to report that we have found the boss room.”

[Oh… BOSS ROOM!]

My eyes sparkled.

This report was about the discovery of the boss room.

As discussed during the meetings a few days ago.

Once a party finds the location of the boss room, they have to report to miss Lavi before entering the boss room.

Adventurers are required to do this to avoid unnecessary troubles such as injuries or death.

The "Kobold King" is the boss of a D-ranked dungeon.

If this Kobold King would be evaluated as a normal monster, it was on par with some B-ranked monsters.

Boss monsters are known to be “sturdy” having abnormally high HPs.

The Kobold King's" offensive capability might be on the level of a C-ranked monster and their sturdiness would need a lot of effort to deal with.

Miss Lavi nodded at the adventurer and prepared to leave.

She’s going to the boss's room to act as backup.

[Shoot! I want to watch the boss fight too!]

Miss Lavi looked at me and seemed to have noticed my interest in the so-called “BOSS”.

She made a funny expression like was thinking about something.

She twirled her side hair.

At last, she made a nod.

“Do you want to watch the boss fight miss Kazue?”

She asked.

“EH?! Can I?”

I could not hide my excitement that I made an enthusiastic reply.

“I don’t see why not.”

Lavi replied with an amused face.

[Miss Lavi, you're the best]

“GLADLY!”

I did not hide my interest and immediately took on the offer.

As if expecting my reply miss Lavi continued talking.

“fufufu… alright… but will you be alright? You’re still injured don’t you want to rest at the guild?”

She asked me this sarcastically, thus my reply was decided.

“NO NEED! I CAN ENDURE THIS MUCH.”

Miss Lavi giggled while nodding.

I could not help but think that even though miss Lavi is one of the most powerful adventurers, deep down she’s also a lady.

From the looks of it, Miss Lavi should only be in her early 20’s.

When she laughs like this, I almost forgot that she was a powerful adventurer.

[Oops, … my mind wandered away from the topic right there. Well, it can’t be helped… miss Lavi just have that mysterious “charisma” with her. No wonder she’s popular, also she’s strong… I wonder how I compare to her in terms of power?]

When I got back to my senses.

Miss Lavi was already persuading Andrew-san.

Andrew-san did not agree right away, but in the end, he did not stop me.

[I guess since I am with miss Lavi he decided to yield?]

He came to me and showed me a problematic look.

It was a face saying “what will I do with you?” or “It can’t be helped” kind of look.

Andrew-san place his hand on my shoulder and said...

“Just… don’t push yourself too much OK?”

I vigorously nod my head.

I looked at Andrew-san’s party.

Andrew-san... his hand was broken.

Tristan the archer with no arrow, is basically… powerless.

Carl and Myrona… although they managed to recover their exhausted mana, they are vulnerable to close-range battles.

Mirva-san who is still in bad shape... won’t be able to work properly for a while.

John-san whose’ legs are broken... needs to be carried.

Looking at them, I ordered Isamu, Kaori, and Hayate to accompany them as I accompany miss Lavi.

I can’t miss watching adventurers fight a boss.

I can use this as a reference later on,

A reference when I am to fight a boss myself in the future.

Isamu, Hayate, and Kaori reluctantly agreed.

[I guess I have to reward them later with some special food… they have been a great help during this event.]

I pat their heads before I left with miss Lavi.

We went on our separate ways.

Andrew-san and the rest went toward the entrance of the dungeon where some healers are stationed.

I together with miss Lavi and her party members went to the boss's room.

Miss Lavi reaches out her hands toward me.

I wonder what is up, but I brainlessly reach out my hands.

[Shake hands? Maybe?]

I subconsciously reached out my right hand to her out of courtesy.

All of a sudden, she pulled me up, I was surprised at how strong she was.

With a simple pull, she was able to make me float into the air.

Next thing I know...

I found myself in the arms of miss Lavi.

“Eh?”

[Is this… The legendary “Princess Carry”]

“??”

I looked at miss Lavi’s face with a confused face.

I wanted to ask “Why did you suddenly carry me all of a sudden?”.

But I did not need to ask, miss Lavi casually said her reason.

“Sorry, but we have to move fast.”

“I can run on my own…”

“I bet you can, but I don’t think you can catch up to our speed, that is why I have to carry you for now. Plus, you might strain your broken arm if you were to run at full speed.”

Miss Lavi looked at the adventurer who notified her of the news that they had found the boss's room.

The adventurer nods at miss Lavi understanding what she means.

“Please Follow me miss Lavi.”

“Okay, lead the way”

The adventurer seemed to have vanished in the air, no he moved so fast that I lost track of him.

At the same time, Miss Lavi started to run forward while still carrying me.

I am quite confident with my AGI stat.

With my AGI stat and the use of my skill [Burst], I am quite confident that I won’t fall behind even to B-rank adventurers.

But… once miss Lavi started moving.

She dashed at an incredible speed.

Miss Lavi’s speed was even faster than mine, the only way I could match her speed was to use my (Burst) skill, no... even with that I won’t be able to match this speed.

Not to mention, she was carrying me on her arm, and she still moved in a way that I won't feel any discomfort while being carried in her arms. She moved gracefully and carefully so I won't strain my arms.

Despite that, she was running at a terrifying speed.

With this display, I immediately knew the difference between me and miss Lavi.

I saw a glimpse of what the strongest adventurer of “Luron” is capable of doing.

Soon…

We arrived in front of a large stone door.

[This is it... a boss room.]
