Chapter 2: Inhuman Monster

Immediately after the sound of the broadcast, Xiangnu’s pretty face showed a hint of surprise.

After feeling Yu Su looking at him he immediately showed an innocent look inexplicably giving off a surly feeling, “Mr Yu, if I said it was a coincidence, would you believe it?”

Yu su gave a low laugh, “You said so, so what if I say I don’t believe it. After all, it can be pure coincidence that you just hit it right.”

Xiangnu curved his brows and smiled, “Yes, it’s a coincidence.” It was a pure coincidence that the number coincided with him as the probability was 1/6.

However, the scope was not so big and it was also beneficial. After the next random inspection, he would be able to find out whether the law of the random inspection of the carriages was as he thought.

He thought casually when a sphinx wearing a flight attendant in uniform but with mottled and dirty marks, a mouth full of fangs with an unnerving smell coming from it came in from the cab and it didn’t look sideways, moved quickly through the car no.1 and went to car no.7.

“Human face, lion body…..”Someone whispered.

Xiangnu heard the man whisper and looked at the monster’s back, his index finger and thumb rubbed together unconsciously, and fell into deep thought.

He was so focused that he didn’t notice that Yu Su was staring at him.

Xiangnu was in a daze as time passed quickly and the broadcast sounded again, “Every passenger has abided by the rules, there are no foul passengers in the random inspection at this station. The train is about to enter the first station,’ The furnace apartment ‘. Please, everyone, get ready.”

Xiang u frowned lightly, “Ten minutes have not passed yet, it seems it has only been over 7 minutes…”

Yu Su corrected, “To be precise, it’s 8 minutes and 16 seconds.”

Xian Nu paused and then smiled shyly, “Thanks for correcting me.”

Yu Su replied coldly, “It’s okay. I just happened to memorise the time.”

“The train will stop at the station for five minutes. Passengers are requested to decide whether to set off the train as soon as possible.”

The radio broadcast announced that the spot check was over, but the sphinx didn’t return immediately.

But some of the quest workers could not care about the monster anymore. As soon as the announcement ended, one of them stood up exclaiming, “This site…is the name of a quest I once participated in.”

Everyone looked at him and soon several missionaries said with pale cheeks, “We also participated in this mission.”

Feng Hejia bit the cigarette butt took out a folded piece of white paper and a pen from the small bag she was wearing and wrote a few lines on it, “If there is no accident, the next stops also should be related to mission worlds.”

Xiangnu frowned and laughed in his heart. This is only the first stop and she is so sure that the stops must be related to copy worlds.

Or did she find other clues? Does this clue have anything to do with her and Fenghe lulu’s surname?

Feng Hejia pondered and asked, “What does everyone think about this site? Does anyone want to get off? Or those who have participated are sent off or one of them?

As soon as she finished speaking, the person who said he participated in this world-first frantically refused, “I won’t get out of the car. If anyone dares to force me out of the car, I will never let you off.”

This tasker was very repulsed by the Furnace apartment, and when he heard Feng Hejia was going to call someone down, he immediately panicked.

But it was normal to think about sending a person who experienced the world before to explore. If he was prudent enough he would not have said he participated in the world impulsively.

Yu Su whispered, “No one uninterested will be forced to get out of the car. Those who want to can get out of the car.”

Yu Su said directly and the meaning of his words was obvious, he wanted to protect weak and small missionaries who might be persecuted and cut off the method of using lives to test the rules in the no.1 carriage.

Xiangnu also looked around, and his voice was much louder this time, no longer fluttering like a feather but heavier,”Don’t worry everyone. It is fate that we were assigned in the same car, we should help each other and proceed in a friendly way. This is only the first way, there are other sites. At the time, I am not saying this out of kindness but because we can observe the rules without the sacrifice of our companions.”

Chen chengen was stunned for a moment and his opinion of this blind man changed a bit. To be honest,  Xiangnu was beautiful but weak. At first, he thought Xiangnu was a beautiful fool. He didn’t expect him to be so calm and integrate into the copy world so quickly and also put forward strong opinions.

He asked with interest, “How can we observe the rules?”

Xiangnu’s eyes curved, his expression was gentle but his words sounded cold-blooded, he said in a calm voice, “It must not be a special case for someone who had participated in the dungeon of ‘Furnace apartment’. There must be some in other cars also. There are six cars. In one of them at least there had to be someone who participated in this dungeon. If you are a saint, there will always be a carriage that will act as a villain, forcing one of them to get out of the car to try.”

“We don’t have to do it ourselves, just waiting for the results will do.”

As soon as he said those words, the people in the carriage divided into two groups.

One group had people like Chen chengen and Feng hejia, who were deep in thought and jealous of Xiangnu’s sharpness and the other group consisted of people like the tasker who revealed himself before with a simpler personality.

The young tasker who participated in the dungeon ‘Furnace Apartment’ excitedly nodded his head and agreed, “Brother Xiang is right, not all the carriages have good people like brother Xiang….”

He glanced at Feng Hejia coldly and snorted, “So there will be taskers in other carriages who will be forced to leave the car. We just need to wait and watch.”

Yu Su was too lazy to pay attention to him and mostly observed the slave.

Xiangnu blushed at the sudden praise and said with a shy smile, “You’ve overpraised me, I am not so kind, I just don’t want to sacrifice my companions….”

Xiangnu kept focusing on the word companion to keep deepening this concept among the baskets in-car no.1 because once they developed the habit of testing the rules with people’s lives, he, a newcomer and a half-blind disabled person will also be one of them.

The tasker scratched his head and said naively, “Brother Xiang, you are too polite. My name is Li Yue, you can just call me by my name.”

Xiangnu smiled and replied, “Okay, brother Li Yue. Take your seat now, we’re about to enter the station.”

As soon as Xiangnu’s voice fell, the sphinx shaped monster opened the door between cars no.1 and 2 and came out from behind.

Li Tue hadn’t sat down yet, so when he saw it, he turned pale, his legs trembling in fright.

However, the sphinx ignored him and rushed to the cabin with a clear goal. Li Yue, who was in the way was hit and his clothes were stained with some blood from the monster.

Li Yue regained his strength after the monster was out of sight, he stumbled to his seat and did not dare to utter any word.

The broadcast ended and the train headed towards the station ‘Furnace Building ‘.

The surrounding persons cheered up and looked out of the window to look out for clues and dare not close their eyes.

Xiangnu also looked out the window as if he could see everything outside.

Yu Su looked at Xiangnu frowned thinking that he didn’t misjudge, Xiangnu did have an eye disability.

But he didn’t know how severe it was and what the world looked like in his eyes.

It was foggy outside the window but it changed suddenly. A burst of silver light enveloped the whole train. The taskers were unprepared by the sudden flash of silver light and could not help close their eyes. Their eyes stung and tears fell uncontrollably.

The train continued to move forward. The silver light flashed for about ten seconds and darkness spread around the entire space unexpectedly. It was dark both inside and outside the car. The taskers could not even see their fingers. This situation was very familiar to all taskers.

An invisible but strongly perceptible wave spread around them.

The tasker’s complexion wrapped in the pressure twisted and turned blue as if they were forcibly squeezed and dried like they were forcibly squeezed, they felt like their body was out of the water and waiting to be wrung out, gushing out of the channel that connected the train with the other copy world.

The taskers laid on the ground and retched but nothing came out of the mouth.

Xiangnu’s situation was also very bad, he felt like his internal organ were pulled out forcibly by a very big hand. It was very painful and made him uncomfortable.

He couldn’t help curling up in his seat but the space was too small so he ended up leaning on the person beside him unknowingly.

The young man beside him acted very differently from him, his posture was unchanged, still leisurely and calm. When Xiangnu leaned over, he became stiff for a moment, then silently stretched out his hand, took Xiang Nu in his arms and lightly placed his hand on the beautiful and slender back. He gently patted the young man’s back to ease his(Xiangnu’s) pain.

Xiangnu murmured, “This feeling…..is just like when we left the central hall to enter a copy world.”

Weightlessness, dizziness, feeling squeezed as if someone tied his ankles with a rope and hung him on the edge of a cliff, head-spinning like he was rolled in a washing machine spinner.

Yu Su bowed his head slightly, his chest leaning against the young man’s back, his heart beating accurately like the second hand of a clock fell in Xiangnu’s ear, his voice was extremely soft as he whispered in Xiangnu’s ear, “Maybe it’s what you thought.”

Xiangnu’s breathing increased subconsciously, he licked his lips slightly and gently rubbed his soft head on Yu Su’s chest through the metal decorations.

Yu Su’s face turned red but the darkness concealed the crimson colour on his face so his disguise was concealed, “You are a newcomer, so you should not know that the central hall of the taskers is known by another name among the ghosts. That is….the ‘ Silver City ‘.”

Xiangnu blinked, his voice full of nervousness which sounded even cuter and sweeter, he asked in a low voice, “Why do you know the alias of the central hall among the ghosts?”

Yu Su heard his doubts but didn’t show any displeasure though his tone sounded mocking, “I also said you are a newcomer. Child, what are you doubting me for?”

Xiangnu couldn’t help laughing after hearing him, “I am already 20. Not a child anymore.”

Yu Su chuckled lowly with his five fingers tucked into Xiangnu’s soft hair, the pulp of his fingers gently pressed against his head.

Neither of them mentioned that topic again as if Xiangnu never asked that question.

The train shuttled through the dark passage and a red dark light spilt in from the end of the passage. The passengers were finally able to see and could not wait to flock to the window to look at the scene at front.

A single-family apartment with six floors stood there quietly, painted all black. From the wall to the window, there was only a grey-white slit as the boundary. The design in some places was different from others looking uneven, with protruding edges and corners, the building glowing with ominous vibes looked rather eerie in the darkness.

Li Yue, who entered this dungeon before looked extremely uneasy at this time, constantly twisting in his seat as if his butt is scratched by a nail.

He couldn’t help asking for help from the gentle, kind and weak Xiangnu asking in a low voice, “Brother Xiang, what should I do? I feel so panicked. What will happen? I always feel that this task is not that simple. The broadcast said that we could choose to get off the train. Wait, could it be, it said that to divert our attention and directly control us to get out of the train?”

Li Yue was stunned, the more he thought about it, the more he felt it right and the more panic spread in his heart. As the train got closer to the ‘ Furnace Apartment ‘, the more fear he felt.

After he finished speaking, there were some noises in the corner, it sounded uneasy just like the sound made by Li Yue. He should have also participated in the same dungeon just like Li Yue.

Xiangnu was going to comfort him but Yu Du suddenly spoke out looking towards Li Yue, “How old are you?”

Li Yue replied blankly, “Um….24.”

Yu Su said lightly, “He is only 20 and younger than you. Don’t address him as a brother in the future?”

Li Yue continued to be at a loss, “Ah..?”

Xiangnu was helpless and said softly, “Age is a trivial matter. It is his way of expressing mutual respect. Let’s discuss about the task first.”

Feng Hejia let out a puff of smoke making his surroundings misty, her fine eyebrows were hanging down leaving a heavy shadow on her cheeks, she said vaguely, “I think, at the stop as long as no one steps out of the car, there is a high possibility that we will be safe. The point is the next station. If a person hets off the train, in the next station we have to stay for 30 minutes. That time can be a little dangerous. We can see what will happen then.”

No one spoke in the carriage and the apartment was getting closer and closer in silence. Chen chengen asked, “Why don’t we go to other carriages and stop anyone from getting off the train?”

Feng Hejia replied lightly, “You would not be able to do this, there is not enough time.”

Plus we need results to what will happen after someone gets off the train.

Many people thought so but didn’t say it aloud.

Chen chengen let out a sigh of relief and fell silent again.

The train entered the ‘ Furnace Building ‘ which didn’t look spacious from the outside and a whistle rang out thorough the place.

The broadcast sounded, “The train has arrived at the first station. Those who want to get off, please get off as soon as possible. The train will start again in five minutes.”

The people inside didn’t dare to breathe and looked nervously outside the window.

The apartment which looked small from the outside was unusually spacious on the inside. The train with seven compartments including the crews didn’t even occupy half of the building.

It could be seen from the hall, the apartment houses were arranged in a circle and each floor had half-human height railings outside the corridor.

The railing looked dilapidated and rusty. If someone were to touch, the railing seems to shatter directly into powder which doesn’t work as it should.

When the train whistle blew, all the doors on the fifth floor in the building were pushed open and banged on the wall. Immediately afterwards, a group of seemingly normal people from young to old, man and woman came out from behind the doors and came to the railing looking down directly at them like a ghost.

Their bodies and appearances looked normal but their expressions were nowhere near normal, they looked creepy and people dare not look at them directly.

All the guests on the fifth floor came out and pressed on the railings and a dense group of people surrounded the floor.

Li Yue’s face turned pale, “When I was at the dungeon last time, there was only a landlord who said that this apartment had long been unoccupied due to some accidents….”

Wang Nan couldn’t help saying sarcastically, “The landlord was right. The things in the copy worlds are indeed not human.”

Xiangnu suddenly heard the young man behind him sneer.
