“Oaths to protect the weak, innocent, and to fight against evil. The evershining light, I shall bring the glory of Lord across this ruins.”

With a murmur, Peter suddenly woke up. He sat up in the soft bed and looked around.

Just now, he had a dream. It was a really, really long dream.

In it, he was a missionary, who stepped on a planet called Fera along with other troops. They were the invaders.

His home planet, Earth, was greatly reformed by Gods into a super planet. Its ancient name was also restored.

Sacred Tera. The home planet of Gods. Its glory shined in the vast universe again.

Countless extraordinary knights, mage, transcenders, got into giant space fortresses and various spaceships, and sailed to all parts of the galaxy. There were only wars.

Countless planets were conquered. Many resisting forces were wiped out. Many hands were stained with blood. Only those who surrendered early were able to have a good life.

At planet Fera, forces of Gods had met a stubborn opponent. The natives of Fera were also cultivators of mystery and also possessed mysterious means.

Then, a bitter battle started. The fighting between two strong parties caused great destruction to the environment and living creatures.

Peter also fought hard and was able to survive through the tragic war after slaying countless enemies.

Finally, looking at the ruins of a city, the troops who were searching still surviving natives to eliminate the future trouble and finally three small native children sobbing and hiding behind a half collapse wall, Peter suddenly remembered something and woke up.

Many thoughts and remaining short-term memories flashed in his head. He felt relief as he noticed that everything was just a dream.

He looked at Jenny and Flora who both seemed still sleeping soundly and got out of the bed slowly.

A few minutes later, Peter in a sleeping robe opened the door and walked towards the wooden bench on the front porch with a coffee mug in his hand.

It is still at around 4AM and the sun isn’t even coming out yet. Under the moonlight, the empty street and gentle breezes instantly calmed down his restless heart and swelling head.

It would have been really a perfect time and place for quietness lover if those bastards crows were not calling. Peter took a sip of hot coffee and complained about the calls of crows. He also wondered how many of them were staying in the neighborhood.

Suddenly, someone sat down beside him and asked softly, “Did you have a nightmare?”

It was Jenny. Peter also knew it was her since the door was opened.

He said calmly, “Not a nightmare but I had a long dream.”

“You might not believe it but it is like a divine revelation. The earth has become bigger than the sun. Many lost civilizations appeared again on earth. No, it should be called Sacred Tera.”

“Gods started a war of conquest across the stars.”

“We sailed in the vast stars sea and fought against many enemies. We marched. We attacked. We conquered many planets. Many people died. Our hands were stained with blood.”

“And finally, I felt that we were doing something wrong and I remembered about knight Oaths. Then, I woke up.”

Jenny wiped her face with a water ball, which she just created, and said, “There’s something wrong.”

“You don’t have meaningless dreams anymore after you awakened the true spirit. Well, in fact, it has already started when you awakened sixth sense.”

After saying this, she took out a toothbrush and toothpaste from her space ring and started to prepare to brush her teeth. It left Peter doubtful.

He also wondered if there would be some deep meanings meant for him buried in his dream.

Well, in fact, the dream is quite simple and he can easily understand that the dream warned him to remember the Oaths and his original purposes.

To have control over own destiny. To look at the vast and mysterious world. To protect.

Well, he also got a new one, which was to follow the Lord’s will.

“Don’t worry. I will have a talk with the old guys in the Church. They surely know something.”

Hearing this, Peter turned his head to look at his already familiar wife seriously for the first time.

Although he knew that she was no ordinary figure in the mysterious occult world, he didn’t expect her to be able to reach into secret news of Gods. Or should he say that she got a hard background.

Thinking about her mysterious background and about him being a rootless guy without even knowing the parents, Peter felt bad. After all, the difference between two sides is too big.

For someone like him who was placed at the doorstep of a small orphanage, all he inherited was just a surname which came along with a silver necklace. Over the years, he worked hard and got his life on the somewhat successful path.

He always thought that he didn’t need to envy the other children and he could trust on his hardwork. But he now realized that it was totally wrong. Sometimes, hardwork just doesn’t not pay off.

There is a big moat between transcenders and mortals. It is even bigger between rootless transcenders and someone with a big background.

Peter said, “You don’t need to ask secret things if it would be bad for you. You know that I would be able to figure out what to do at that time, right?”

He turned his head to look at the dark sky and said calmly, “If they don’t want us to know, they must have a reason for that. Sometimes, it’s completely fine for us to not know it. And, I believe that they would not do something bad for us.”

He rubbed his stubble on his chin and said, “Probably, you’re right. But I believe that we would not do things without bottom lines like in my dream even if the conquest was really started.”
Jenny nodded and didn’t give any comment on his thought. Then, the two enjoyed the quiet time while chatting about their childhood until the first rays of sun shone upon the lawn.

When the two entered back into the house, a convoy of two military armored vehicles and two police cars drove along the street slowly. Two young soldiers glanced around lazily while holding the gatlings on the armored vehicles.

Cops in the two patrol cars in the front were drinking coffee, paying attention to the radio and chatting each other to repel sleepiness. They got up too early for the morning patrol but the soldiers at the back were at the end of their night duty.

Two hours later, Peter opened his garage and drove his white ford out of it. After waiting for a while, Jenny came out with Flora. She put Flora in the back seat, tied her seat belts and got into co-pilot.

Peter drove the car onto the lane and asked, “Church?”

Jenny said while opening the two bags of potato chips, which she just took out of her space ring, “Not today. Tina and I discussed four or five days ago to take a visit to your guild camp.”

She turned her body and handed a bag over to Flora. Then, she said as she took out two cans of coconut milk, “Actually, it’s not going to be today. But I’ve got a feeling that we are going to miss a big fortune if we don’t go to your guild camp today.”

“Foresight?”

Peter muttered when he saw the two woman and girl having snacks, “Hey, what about mine?”

Jenny laughed and replied, “Driver can’t eat.”

She turned her head to blink at Flora and asked, “Is it?”

Flora nodded and said after swallowing down the coconut milk in her mouth, “That’s right. Driver must pay attention to the road.”

Jenny laughed hard while looking at Peter with a bitter smile.

Soon, the car stopped in front of Tina’s house. Tina who was informed early by Jenny immediately came out and walked over. Under the gesture of Peter to get into backseat, she smiled at him and got into the back. She was not surprised when she saw Flora inside. Instead, she greeted with a smile,

“Hello, Flora. I am Tina. Nice to meet you. Welcome from the family.”
