Harry Potter And The Darkness

Chapter 31 - Knight Bus

One day later in an Orphanage, more specifically in the attic, there's a boy with silver hair and eyes sitting on a chair with his eyes closed, and next to him is a red hair girl with green eyes reading a book.

20 minutes later the door of the room opened and two women entered the room, one was Nun Susan and the other one was Prof. McGonagall.

As Stefan and Mary saw them entering the room they stood up with excited faces and walk to Prof McGonagall with a smile on their faces, while saying "Prof McGonagall, are going to buy our books?"

Prof. McGonagall had a smile on her stern face as she nodded "Yes, we will, Susan I will take them with me, I'll bring them later, do not worry."

"Prof. McGonagall, this two child's won a scholarship from a private company, this money is for them to pay their necessary school expenses." said the nun, as she gave a package with money inside to Prof. McGonagall who had a surprise face.

"Huh, so I guess kids you don't need to pay back later, congratulations for winning that scholarship, well let's go, Stefan, Mary follow me" said McGonagall as she turned around and walked away with Stefan and Mary following her while waving their hands at the Nun.

As soon as they reached the street a purple bus appeared from nowhere the of the bus opened and a young man with a lot of pimples on his face and a disheveled beard said "Welcome to the Knight Bus, emergency transport for the stranded witch or wizard. Just stick out your wand hand, step on board and we can take you anywhere you want to go, I'm Shun Pike"

"How much would it be to go to leaky cauldron?" said McGonagall with her usually stern face.

"Eleven Sickles," said Stan, "but for fourteen you get hot chocolate, and for fifteen you get a bottle of water, with the travel included."

Prof McGonagall paid the fee to the young man with pimples on his face

McGonagall furrowed her brow as she muttered, "sigh I can't apparate with them or they could lose a part of their body in the travel..." she signaled with her hand at Stefan and Mary to get up in the bus, as they entered the bus they noticed the bus was larger than it appeared on the outside with a lot of tables and chairs, and its driver was an old man with glasses that amplified his eyes too much they seemed as tennis balls, and there was a shrunken head talking with the driver.

"Let's go at the rear of the bus, there's the exit we can exit fast." said Prof. McGonagall as she walked to the rear and sit on one of the chairs.

Stefan and Mary walked to the rear of the bus and sat down beside McGonagall.

"Ladies and Gentleman, please hold tight, we are going to start moving in 3...2...1... Ernie go." said the man with pimples on his face as he smiled.

All the travel the bus was moving so fast the chairs were moving everywhere, from right to left and left to right. Prof. McGonagall almost fell to the ground but she casted a spell that made her float and avoided hitting the floor, McGonagall started yelling at Ernie saying she was going to complain with the magical ministry if they don't drive safely.

"We have arrived at Diagon Alley, hope you enjoyed the service, take care" said the young man with a smile on his face as he saw the disheveled hair of McGonagall.

McGonagall snorted at his remark as she descended the bus with Mary and Stefan following behind her.

They were in front of a bar, McGonagall said to them "this is the place the wizards with muggle parents can enter to our magical world, or a part of it follow me"

They entered the bar and saw too many people inside the bar, McGonagall walked directly to the back store of the bar and while passing through the store she said hello to the barman Tom.

Tom saw the boy with silver hair and silver eyes and got a surprised expression as he saw them accompanied by the vice-headmaster of Hogwarts.

As he was about to say something he looked at the boy and those black eyes with silver iris that flashed for a moment. "Huh what was I going to do...?" said Tom with a confused expression as he started to clean some glasses.

McGonagall didn't notice anything as she continued walking, with Stefan and Mary following her behind.

As they got to the back store of the pub, McGonagall said "Remember this combination, this is the first and only time I will show you how to do it." while taking her wand and start touching the bricks of the wall in a special sequence, till the wall of bricks rearrange and instead of a wall there was a hole that let you see Diagon Alley, with a lot of mages inside walking quickly to their destinations.

"Follow me closely, these days Diagon Alley is mayhem, with everyone buying the school things" said McGonagall as she passed through the hole on the wall of bricks, and Stefan and Mary followed her behind.

The first stop was Madame Malkins Robes, as they got to the entrance, McGonagall took a pouch from her waist and give it to Mary while saying "This is the money I brought for your expenses but you won a scholarship so enter and buy your robes first, I will go to the bank and change the muggle money to the magical currency, meanwhile use the money I brought to buy the robes I will be back quickly don't worry." said McGonagall as she talked only to Mary and looked at her with a stern face that indicated that she trusted the money to Mary.

"Yes, Prof McGonagall, do not worry I will look for Stefan while you're not here" said Mary with a soft voice as she took the magical poach with her tiny hands

Stefan just rolled his eyes as he heard that, and nodded to Prof McGonagall who looked at him for a moment, and then she left, leaving both of them in front of the entrance of the store of Madame Malkins.

"Huh, it seems like you enjoy being of my age..." said Stefan as he took the soft cheek of Mary and started pulling it.

"Young Master stoooooop, it hurts" said Mary with a teary face.

Stefan stopped pulling her cheek as several mages on the streets started putting attention to them.

They entered Madame Malkins Store and received a warm welcome by her. "What can I offer you kids?, you surely are here for the Hogwarts robes right?, come here little girl, ladies first." said Madame Malkins with a warm smile on her face.

Mary nodded to her, and followed Madame Malkins inside the store, more specifically a probing room, leaving Stefan sitting on a chair in the lobby.

"Huh, I thought I would have to erase her memories about me... Whatever..." thought Stefan with a calm face.

10 minutes later Mary got out with her new robes folded between her arms. "Now it's your turn kid, come here." said Madame Malkins with a smile on her face.

20 minutes later Stefan came out of the probing room, with his black robes between his hands.

McGonagall was there with Mary, as they saw Stefan came out McGonagall pointed with her wand at the robes of both of them and made them enter into a magical pouch.

They said their Goodbyes to Madame Malkins and proceeded to buy all the others materials, books, cauldrons, materials for the potions, they left the more important thing for the end of the Shops, the wand.

"Now that you have everything let's go to Ollivanders shop, the best wandmaker in Britain." said McGonagall with her stern face that showed a smile, she was curious on what type of wand they kids would get, one got recognized by a phoenix and the girl had control over her magic powers too well.

They started walking in the direction of Ollivanders until they got there. Mary and Stefan stood for a moment to look at the sign shop 'Makers of fine wands since 382bc.'

"What are you looking at, let's go inside" said McGonagall with an impatient voice, as she opened the door and entered the shop.

"Huh, let's see what happens..." thought Stefan while smiling.

Mary saw the smile on Stefan's face and figured out what he was thinking as she smiled too, making two cute dimples appeared on her face.

Both of them entered Ollivanders, and a tinkling bell sounded in the depths of the shop, shortly after the bell sound they got received by a profound voice. "Welcome, welcome." said a man with a pale face and big round eyes.

"Mr. Ollivanders, these kids are here to buy their wand, please." said McGonagall as she was accustomed to Mr Ollivanders extravagant entrances.

"Excellent, excellent" said Ollivanders while smiling at Mary and Stefan.

"Ladies first, right-handed or left-handed?" said Ollivander with an interest in his eyes as he examined the little girl before her, he took a measurement tape from his pocket.

"I'm right-handed" said Mary with a soft voice.

"Please raise your arm lady" said Ollivander as he started measuring her arm, starting from her shoulders to her fingertips, then from wrist to elbow, knee to her armpit, and finally her height.

"Each of the wands I made are unique, there can't be two same wands because the materials I use as magic cores can't be identical to the other ones, as an example there can't be two exactly hair of unicorns, if you use a wand that doesn't belong to you the spells will not be as good as with your own.

"Remember, the wand chooses the wizard" said Ollivander with a profound voice as he looked at Mary and then at Stefan who was hearing with interest on his face at his explanation.

Ollivander then walked behind the counter and started looking at the shelves that contain too many boxes with wands inside.

"Let me see, where did it go that wand... Oh there it is..." said Ollivander as he walked back to them and presented them a black box, as he opened it there was a beautiful wand with a red miniature phoenix at the handle of the wand and carves along the wand, the color of the wand was red. "What are you waiting lady give it a try, 12 inches, flexible with a feather of Phoenix as a magic core and peachwood."

Mary took the wand and shake it without using her power but nothing happened.

"Huh, not even a response... Ok... Do not worry, we will find your perfect wand." said Ollivander as he took the wand and put in the box and put it on the shelf that it was a moment ago, then he started looking at shelves for a minute till he walked to one and took a blue box from it, opening it and revealing another wand but this was blue sky. "14 inches, unicorn hairs as a magic core, flexible, Oak wood, go ahead try it" said Ollivander s as he passed the box to Mary who took out the wand and waved it but nothing happened not even a spark...

"Huh, I love challenges, don't worry we will keep looking for your wand lady." said Ollivander with a happy face.

Two hours later there were a lot of boxes in the counter and Ollivander had an excited face while saying to Mary "Looks like you will make me do a wand... It's been a time since I have to do this... We will talk about the details later, let me help your friend over there to find his wand."

Ollivanders made the same procedure with Stefan as he asked him which hand did he use, and then started taking his measurements, and shortly after he went to the shelves that still had boxes and took a silver box, and opened revealing a silver wand with intricate carves on it.

"Silver wood, 14 inches, dragon strings were used as a magic core, go ahead and try it." said Ollivanders with a calm face.

Stefan took the wand while thinking... "Sigh what a waste of time..." waving the wand but nothing happened...

The face of Ollivanders brighten up as he saw that and the process repeated again. Wand after wand, try after try... Not even a spark emerged from the wands. After another two hours, the sky was dark... And without noticing it was 10 o'clock already.

McGonagall at first got interested as she saw Mary couldn't find her wand after a few tries wondering which wand would be her. And after two hours she was on the chair with a sleepy face thinking "I should send Hagrid to take them here today... Hopefully, Stefan chooses a wand fastly and get over this."

After another two hours, McGonagall was sleeping on the chair soundly.

She was awakened by the laugh of Ollivanders "hahaha, what are the odds to meet two extraordinary customers on the same day, and to you to come together. Do not worry I will craft the best wands I have made in my entire life for you."

"Cough cough" McGonagall hearing him talking excitedly like that was afraid to have to spend the night there with Ollivanders.

"Mr. Ollivander, the kids have to go back to their homes, what about if you prepare all the things to craft the wands, and I send the kids to you in one week?" said McGonagall with a tired face.

"Sure sure, I will have to look for the best ingredients, in one week then, see you Stefan, Mary" said Ollivander while he walked away from the counter while muttering things about looking for the best ingredients.

McGonagall, Mary, and Stefan walked out of the store, and left Diagon Alley, as she remembered the travel in the knight bus, McGonagall preferred to travel in a muggle taxi, they got after an hour to the Orphanage were McGonagall left them.

Mary and Stefan walked into the attic, Stefan laid on the bed with a sleepy face, and Mary stood beside the bed, next to him.

"Huh, looks like we have to talk to Borgin, even if we don't need the wands, I have a theory about them... Tomorrow we will go to his store and settle counts... As for the Demon Hunt... maybe tomorrow." said Stefan with a tired voice.

"Yes, Young Master" said Mary with a soft voice, while she looked as he closed his eyes and fall asleep.
