Harry Potter And The Darkness

Chapter 43 - Mud-blood

Next day Stefan woke up, got up from the bed and changed his clothes and snapped his fingers, he looked as he had taken a shower.

"Good morning, young master" Stefan heard the sleepy voice of Mary.

Stefan turned around and saw the sleepy face of Mary, as she was rubbing her eyes. "Good Morning Mary, get up, I'll see you at the living room downstairs" said Stefan as he turned around and walked out of his bedroom.

Stefan walked out of the dormitories and walked to a sofa next to a fireplace and sat down, all of the other first year's boys saw Stefan but no one dared to come and say hi to him, as they passed him as if he was a ghost. As Zabini saw him sitting, he looked at the floor as he passed him quickly without saying anything.

Some first-years girls saw him and said hi shyly to him and then left the living room.

Stefan didn't know what was going with the girls, as he saw their weird reactions some of them turned red as they said hi to him, there was even a girl name Milicent Bulstrode who tried to talk with him, but she finally left and the only thing she did was stare at him for 10 minutes.

"What the actual f.u.c.k is happening" thought Stefan after seeing the girl left while looking at him.

After a minute Mary came to the living room accompanied by two girls, one with blonde long hair and blue eyes, and the other one with brown long hair and green eyes, recognized one of them as Daphne Greengrass.

They walked to him and Mary said while pointing at each of the girls "Stefan, these girls are my roommates Daphne Greengrass and Tracey Davis"

"A p.l.e.a.s.u.r.e to meet you, Stefan, you cause a great impression yesterday after taking the private bedroom for yourself...I'm Daphne Greengrass" said the blonde-haired girl, while smiling at him with curiosity in her eyes.

"Hi, nice to meet you, I'm Tracey" said the brown-haired girl with a soft voice.

Stefan look at them for a moment and then smiled, "Nice to meet you, I'm Stefan, so the news of me taking the room it's already known, let's go I want to have breakfast"

Stefan turned around and start walking away, he suddenly stopped as he noticed he didn't know the way to the great hall... "Don't worry,, I know the way" said Mary while giggling.

Mary walked beside him, while Daphne and Tracey and Daphne walked beside him too.

There were a hundred and forty-two staircases at Hogwarts: wide, sweeping ones; narrow, rickety ones; some that led somewhere different on a Friday; some with a vanishing step halfway up that you had to remember to jump. Then there were doors that wouldn't open unless you asked politely, or tickled them in exactly the right place, and doors that weren't really doors at all, but solid walls just pretending. It was also very hard to remember where anything was because it all seemed to move around a lot. The people in the portraits kept going to visit each other.

But for Mary, this was not a problem, as she led all of them.

But there was another annoying thing in Hogwarts, Mr. Filch and his cat Mrs. Norris, a scrawny, dust-colored creature with bulging, lamp-like eyes just like Filch's. She patrolled the corridors alone. Break a rule in front of her, put just one toe out of line, and she'd whisk off for Filch, who'd appear, wheezing, two seconds later. Filch knew the secret passageways of the school better than anyone and could pop up as suddenly as any of the ghosts. The students all hated him, and it was the dearest ambition of many to give Mrs. Norris a good kick, but strangely Mrs. Norris as she saw Daphne she meowed to her and jumped into her arms.

Daphne took a candy out her robe and gave it to Mrs. Norris, who rubbed her head on the arm of Daphne, meowed and jumped off her arms and then left.

Daphne smiled to them as she noticed everyone was giving her an amused look "It's a secret that some people know, Mrs. Norris loves cookies any type of cookies, always carry some and even if you broke something just give her one and she will leave and will not alert Filch" said Daphne while smiling at them.

"So tell me, Daphne... Why are you so friendly, don't you know we aren't pureblood" said Stefan with a calm voice as they kept walking.

"It's ok with that I'm not narrow-minded, there are things the purists don't get and is that after the two Wizarding Wars, the Wizarding Society in Britain lost too many pureblood wizards, sooner or later the purists will have to marry with a half-blood or maybe a wizard from a muggle family, or that's what my father says" said Daphne with a smile on her face while walking beside Stefan.

"Huh, and what about you Tracey?" said Stefan with a calm voice.

"I'm half-blood, my mother is a muggle and my father a wizard..." said Tracey with a soft voice.

"Huh, what was the sorting hat thinking about sending her to Slytherin... She is to shy... Maybe that's why she didn't show up in the movies..." thought Stefan as he nodded at her.

"Be careful of Pansy Parkinson, and Zabini, they were talking with other first years about doing something about you and Mary." said Daphne with a smile on her face.

"Why are you telling me this?" said Stefan with a curious voice.

"Because I want to be your friend and Mary´s too... And I really hate that bitch of Pansy, as for Zabini I don't care about him and I found you interesting" said Daphne with a smile on her face.

They finally arrived at the Great Ha where everybody was already having breakfast some of them were eating Pancakes, Cereals, Eggs, etc.

The four of them went to the Slytherin table, sat down and start eating or well at least Daphne and Tracey, Mary took a plate and start serving food on it and then she passed it to Stefan, who thank her, and started eating.

Daphne and Tracey saw everything and look with an amused face.

"Are you really siblings? I mean your last name is Morningstar but you don't seem like brothers or anything like a family... But more like a couple...or at least that's what I've read couples do in Books like serving the meals the girl to the boy, and always sticking together, sleeping together, well you haven't sleep together so I'll discard that one..." said Daphne while furrowing her brows as she remembered the love book she read.

Stefan started choking as he heard that and Mary turned red as she looked at her cereal and started playing with it, without saying anything.

"Stefan, Mary, could you forgive me, I'm really sorry about yesterday..." a soft voice was heard behind of Stefan.

Stefan turned his head and look a girl with bushy brown hair, bowing to him and Mary who was beside him.

"Don't worry, Hermione, I don't care about it, it's ok, the important thing is that you talk with us today. Sit down, please, what do you want for breakfast? sausages, cereal, what about a little bit of yogurt... eat this..." Stefan saw how Mary sat down Hermione beside him and started serving her a lot of food on a plate, while her face was still red, and was talking too fast.

Everyone on the hall saw as one of the girls from the Gryffindor table stood up and walked with determination to the Slytherin table, even when she was receiving glares from the upper years from Slytherin, she walked to the Silver Haired Boy and the Red-haired girl and said something as she bowed to them, and a few moments later the red-haired girl sat down the girl on their table, the Slytherin table and started giving her food to the Gryffindor girl.

All of the Gryffindors had an ugly face as they saw what it happened, and the Slytherin had disgusted faces as a mud-blood sat down with them.

A tall teenager stood up and started walking to them. He stood in front of Stefan and said "Hey Morningstar, I'll explain a bit as I'm a nice person. The mud-bloods, as this girl can't mix with us the purebloods, you're superior to her, and all the other ones, I will make you a favor for this time." said the towering teenager.

"Mud-blood, get out of this table, we don't want you here" said the gigantic teenager with disdain in his voice as he was about to put a hand on the shoulder of Hermione.

The face of Hermione froze as she heard that, and her eyes turned red and teary. She turned to look at Stefan and Mary, she was smiling as always and Stefan had a calm face, she saw as he nodded at the tall boy, tears started to drop from her eyes, and heard Stefan saying with a calm face "You're we shouldn't mix, get out of here" as he caught the hand of the boy as it was about to grab Hermione.

"You!" said the towering boy as he tried to pull his left hand but noticed no matter how much strength he applied he couldn't move even a centimeter, he took his wand with his right hand and pointed it at Stefan.

"What are you doing Marcus Flint, - 20 points left from Slytherin from fighting" a stern voice sounded all over the hall.

Flint remembered that he was in the middle of the great hall and kept his wand in his robe, "Be careful, Morningstar there will be no Professors always to take care of you" said Flint as he felt Stefan finally release his hand and left from there angrily as he returned to his place.

"You shouldn't done that... Flint is from upper years and is the Quidditch Captain, he has a lot of influence in Slytherin..." said Daphne with a preoccupied face.

"If you want to leave to not get involved just leave Daphne..." said Stefan as he started to eat his pancakes.

"Thank you, Stefan." said Hermione with teary eyes beside him.

Stefan just nodded at her and kept eating with a calm face.

"Ok, chop chop we have to finish quickly the breakfast or we're going to miss the first class" said Mary with her cheery voice.

Daphne hesitated for a moment and sighed as she decided to stay with them, and Tracey just kept quiet and kept eating.

While all the students in all of the other tables got surprised at the outcome.

And in some particular table, the Gryffindor one, there are two boys one with red hair and the other one with black hair and a lightning bolt scar on his forehead talking.

"Ron maybe the Slytherins aren't that bad as you imagined to be..." said the boy with the lightning bolt on his forehead while looking at Hermione eating happily with the Slytherins

"No, Harry they are evil, all of the death eaters and you-know-who were sorted in Slytherin, they should cheat her, I will warn her for one last time" said Ron who was beside him while furrowing his brows and showing a disgusted face as he saw Hermione chatting happily with the pretty red-haired girl.

"And what about Malfoy? he got sorted in our house... Which reminded me where is he. He didn't come to the dormitories yesterday" said Harry with a pondering face.

"Malfoy... I don't know what happened but you heard him yesterday he should be sorted in Slytherin... Fred and George prepared a welcome party to him yesterday but didn't come, they told me, they heard Filch talking about his father coming today to talk with Dumbledore about changing Draco from house, it would be great I don't want to share a room with him... Didn't you noticed there was an empty bed in our room, it's his bed..." said Ron with an ugly face.

----

Stefan and company finished eating and as they had the same class with Gryffindor, Hermione walked with them to the class.

The classes itself weren't any problem for Stefan or Mary as they learned everything with just a look from the books or doing practical things like in Herbology that was taught by a dumpy little witch called Professor Sprout.

Then the most boring class of all, History of Magic, which was the only one taught by a ghost. Professor Binns. Professor Bins was a very old ghost, it was said that he died in the staff room as he fell asleep and the next morning Binns got up to teach leaving his body behind. A very creepy and scary story in the muggle world, but in the wizarding world it was just another day.

The other class was Charms, Professor Flitwick, the Charms teacher, was a tiny little wizard who had to stand on a pile of books to see over his desk. At the start of their first class, he took the roll call, and when he reached Harry's name he gave an excited squeak and toppled out of sight. Charms wasn't a difficult subject for Stefan and Mary, but Daphne and Tracey were having problems and Hermione as always was doing fine, but since it was the first day the whole class was about the different uses of charms and they practiced waving their wand around. When some questions were asked, Mary and Hermione started answering the questions.

"She really enjoys being in school, huh, well it's fine, I also like it somehow" thought Stefan as he watched the two girls having fire in their eyes as they compete with each other.
