Harry Potter And The Dual Lord

Chapter 12 - Vampires

After an hour of waiting, Henry finally apparated in the room. He looked at Nat and Arthur and said "I have gotten you an appointment. Apparently you are lucky son as the princess is supposed to depart in a few days. Then you would have been unable to meet her. Come."

Henry handed out his arm and the mother and son pair took it. They disappeared from the house, leaving it empty once again.

They appeared in front of a huge dark castle, it seems to come straight from medieval times. In front of them were two men guarding the bridge leading to the castle.

As Arthur looked at them he confirmed they were vampires thanks to their red eyes and the fact that the light elements were avoiding them.

This was another ability of the early mutation. Arthur is able to feel the elements affiliated to him in his surroundings. The fact that light was avoiding the vampires was expected, but what Arthur didn't expect was that the darkness didn't seem to like them that much either.

Arthur shrugged it off as something he would research about later and followed his parents as they walked toward the guards.

It seems the two were told about their visit as they moved and let the family pass. The three walked on the bridge and arrived in front of a huge wooden door.

In front of it an old looking butler looked at them before eventually settling his gaze on Arthur and saying with a kind smile "Mister Grindelwald, we were waiting for you. Please enter. You may bring your family."

Arthur didn't dare to refute the vampire and simply nodded. Vampires may be unable to use magic, they can be even more dangerous than a dark wizard. The reason?

The king of the vampires should be about as strong as Voldemort, only below Dumbledore, or the wizard community wouldn't have cared about their request. The vampires had stronger bodies than humans, way stronger. They were faster, stronger and could transfigure their own bodies to a small extent as to form claws and fangs.

Moreover Arthur suspected that vampires were affiliated with the Blood element, though he never asked Merlin. Arthur learned about vampires only earlier in the day and thus never had the time to ask Merlin what he knows about them.

After all, almost everything he learns under Merlin is about the spells, he didn't learn much about DADA as Arthur already would have to learn it at Hogwarts.

The vampire butler turned around and snapped his fingers, making the door slowly open itself. It looked like magic, but Arthur knew this wasn't the case.

The three followed the butler inside the castle and were all amazed by how beautiful the castle was despite it's dark exterior. Except for Henry as he had already been here.

As they walked in the castle Arthur saw many vampires were walking by, each one of them not minding them. Arthur couldn't help but wonder whether the children vampires were really children or not.

As they continued walking the butler asked "Mister Grindelwald, I wonder what do you think about us vampires?"

He slightly turned to look at Arthur. Arthur thought for a second before answering "I don't know much about wizarding society but if I had to make a guess then I would say that our government classified you as lesser beings because they were afraid of your power and forced your entire community to live in this castle."

The butler stopped and looked at Arthur with surprise and said "You don't have to lie, even if you talk bad we won't do anything against you."

Arthur shook his head and said "I'm not afraid of you. I spoke what I genuinely thought." The butler raised an eyebrow and said"You are not afraid?"

Arthur nodded and explained "My father organized this audience so you obviously know about my name being Holly and not Grindelwald. Yet you still used it. Thus I think you had a close relationship with my great grandfather, or at least you respect him. But from what I heard about him, I think you hated him. So if you didn't kill me on sight, it means you won't kill me."

The butler smiled and turned around, resuming his walk as he said "Smart kid. Indeed we hated him, but you are not him, and we are not kids, we vampires know that we can't judge a person based on his relatives."

Arthur smiled and asked "Did you ever try to revolt against wizards?" The butler laughed and said "What would be the point? If we wanted we could wage war against your society, but that would only lead to meaningless deaths. Though we did try with the last dark lord, he eventually proved to be useless."

Arthur looked at him deeply and asked "You don't care about being treated as lesser beings by wizards?"

The butler looked at him and said with a bloodl.u.s.ting smile "I assure you, when we have our fangs in your wizards' neck you stop being arrogant."

Arthur smiled back and asked "Do you mind if I do an experiment on you?"

Henry shut his mouth with his hand and said to the butler "I'm sorry about my son he… " But the butler held out his hand and said "Shut up. Let the kid talk."

Henry frowned but still shut up and looked at his son pleadingly. But Arthur didn't care and said "This might hurt you, do you still agree?"

The butler smiled and said loudly "Fellow vampires, I take the oath that neither I or any any of you will harm this family unless this experiment kills me."

Arthur looked at the vampire in shock and hurriedly said "hey hey hey, I'm not doing anything harmful here, I just want to test a spell or two on you. After all if my memory serves me right then your skin is slightly magical resistant."

The butler nodded and looked around at the surrounding vampires who had formed a circle around them and said "None of you are to intervene or I will execute you on the spot for the King's glory."

The vampires nodded and Arthur took out his wand. Before doing anything he asked "Is it true that vampires are afraid of sunlight?"

The butler shook his head and said "Bullshit, the only thing that can stop us is destroying either our brain or heart."

Arthur frowned and asked "You seem very talkative about your race's weaknesses, won't your king be angry at you?"

The butler shrugged and said "Those aren't secrets, any book about us would tell you the same thing, especially the one from Newt Scamander, an interesting character."

Arthur nodded and waved his wand, saying nothing. Arthur had already used magic in the past, as a kid he tried various things using his magic, but because of the lack of a wand the effect were always random. The only things he could proficiently do were the elemental spells but even then he relied more on the elements than magic.

But for the first time, he is using a foci, his wand, which displayed its effects immediately. The previously uncontrollable energy in his body was rendered active and rushed to his wand.

The surroundings light elements suddenly got triggered and gathered at the tip of Arthur's wand.

Arthur put in more and more magic and suddenly flicked his wand without a word. As soon as he did the magic gathered in his wand left it and formed a half a meter ball. Then the light elements enveloped the ball of magic and fused with it.

All of this happened in less than time it takes to blink. What appeared in others eyes was a blinding light coming from a ball measuring half a meter in diameter.

No one, including Arthur, could see anything, as the light coming from the ball would burn their eyes if they looked at it.
