Arthur appeared in what seemed to be an ancient house. Mainly made of stone, it looked quite luxurious, and inside it was a middle aged man writing on a book.

Arthur looked around the room in wonder as he had never seen such a decoration, and as he marveled at the ingenuity of some designs his eyes fell back on the man.

Arthur made a sound as he cleared his throat, gaining the man's attention. He turned around in panic and looked at Arthur with wary eyes.

But seeing his age, he seemed to relax a little and he asked "Are you okay little boy? Where are your parents, are you lost?"

Arthur shrugged and replied "I think this is a dream. I fell asleep and got here." The man looked at Arthur in shock then with excitement.

He quickly asked "What year were you born in?!" Arthur frowned and replied "You won't believe it." The man frantically shook his head and said "I will, so please tell me. 1600? Not that's too far… And he is too young, is he really the one?"

Arthur shook his head and replied "I was born in 1980."

The man raised an eyebrow and asked "So late? Strange, no one appeared since then? Or did they die too early?"

Arthur tilted his head and asked "Who are you? When are we?" The man shook his head and replied "We are currently in 1132, if I counted correctly, but even if it's wrong then we are around those years, as for who I am, I don't think you know me, you live too far in the future."

Arthur shrugged and said "It doesn't matter, if this isn't a dream then I would like to know who you are, why I am here in this time and who I am supposed to be."

The man shrugged and said "Well I'm called Merlin, we currently are in the Kingdom of Britain." Arthur opened his eyes wide and asked "You are Merlin?! As in Merlin the enchanter?"

Merlin looked at him surprised and asked "Do you know me?" Arthur rolled his eyes and replied "Of course I do, you are literally a legend in our world. Muggles, those who can't use magic, even know about your existence and think of you as a myth, but the wizard community knows you as the biggest wizard of all times!"

Merlin looked at him shocked and asked "Of all time? Why am I so famous?" Arthur was about to answer before he frowned. After a couple of seconds he said "I would gladly tell you, but wouldn't it change the future if I tell you?"

Merlin shook his head and replied "No, you actually didn't come back in time, we are currently out of time. But to explain it to you I need to tell you who you are."

Arthur nodded and Merlin took a piece of stone from behind him and threw it. But by the time it landed on the ground, it had become a chair.

Arthur sat down and was surprised by how comfortable it was. Merlin smirked seeing his magic impress the kid and said "I believe today was your birthday, right?"

Arthur nodded and replied "Yes, I became four today." Merlin opened his eyes wide and asked "Only 4?! impressive! You are much more talented than I could ever imagine you would be."

Arthur continued looking at him without speaking as he didn't know what he was talking about yet.

Merlin smiled and asked "Did you feel your body react in a strange way today?" Arthur nodded and replied "It happened all of a sudden, my entire body felt so painful. Moreover, I couldn't discern anything around me. I know that pain would make me a little ins.e.n.s.i.t.i.v.e, but there I felt like I was robbed from all of my senses except for pain."

Merlin frowned and muttered "Those aren't common… Let's see…" Merlin waved his hand and a book flew over to him and opened itself.

Merlin began reading and after a few minutes he opened his eyes wide and looked at Arthur in shock and asked "Are you sure?"

Arthur nodded and Merlin held his forehead and sighed. He then said "What you suffered from, you are lucky and unlucky at the same time. But first, do you know what wizards are?"

Arthur shook his head and replied "I am not supposed to even know of their existence. I think my parents are wizards but they never showed me anything or told me anything that would lead me to know of their existence."

Merlin looked at him surprised and asked "Then how do you know of the existence of wizards? From what I saw in the future wizards are supposed to be hidden."

Arthur smiled and lied easily "They may have not wanted to show me, I'm smarted than they think. I learned to read before they knew it was possible and read some of their books. I don't know why they hide this world from me though."

Merlin nodded and said "Well, back to the question, wizards are actually humans at the beginning. The thing that make them apart is a mutation. I don't know much about the human body, at least not as much as I want, but magic seems to exist in everyone's body, even the muggles, but wizards have their magic mutate when they become 11. That is how you become a wizard."

Arthur asked "Children of wizards are almost assured to be wizards themselves and children of muggles have very low chance of appearing, is there a reason?"

Merlin's eyes brightened as he said "You are quite smart. Indeed, blood affects the chances of the magic mutation. When the magic mutates then the entire body changes, including the blood."

Arthur nodded and asked "If our magic mutates, then is there a chance for a second mutation? Or is it possible to mutate the magic of muggles older than 11 to make them wizards?"

Merlin spread his arms opened and said helplessly "One of my biggest problems. I am convinced there does exist a second mutation, but I haven't reached it. As for the muggles, it is indeed possible, theoretically at least, but the power needed to do this would be too big."

Arthur asked "How big?" Merlin replied "The second mutation wouldn't even be enough, not even nearing it."

Arthur then asked "How powerful are you exactly? And how powerful would the second mutation potentially be?"

Merlin made a smug face and replied "I already reached the peak power of the first mutation, and I am powerful enough to destroy a city with my biggest spells. As for the second mutation, it would be a big power up. I don't how much stronger I would get but at the beginning my average spells should be able to destroy cities. As for the peak power it could probably even destroy an entire kingdom."

Arthur looked at him in shock and asked "You're telling me this still isn't enough power?"

Merlin shook his head and replied "I think it would need the third mutation, if it does even exists. The power brought by it would be powerful enough to make miracles and change muggles into wizards. It would basically be the level of gods. Or maybe that's the fourth mutation, I don't know. But those are only hypothesis, maybe the second mutation doesn't even exist at all."

Arthur was still shaken up though. What was just said implied many things. First? Merlin is OP. He only seems to be in his late twenties, and yet he already is one of the strongest wizard of all time. From the movies, Grindelwald, someone as strong as Dumbledore, was able to threaten Paris with his spell.

That means he was at the peak of the first mutation. And yet Merlin is already as strong as him, maybe even stronger as Grindelwald seemed to have used an artifact to strengthen his spell.

More importantly, it seemed that Dumbledore and Voldemort are way stronger than he first thought. If Dumbledore was already at the peak of the first mutation in his forties, then how strong did he become almost 100 years later?
