Harry Potter And The Dual Lord

Chapter 48 - Bounty Hunters

Somewhere in the city, two young people were eating face to face on the terrace. Bergen, as a city hosting a great deal of wizards, has a secret place where only wizards can go.

Just like Diagon Alley, it was a nice place with magic everywhere, vivid colors everywhere, happiness hanging around. The restaurant Arthur and Elena were in was on the main place.

The main place was circular, with a fountain in the middle of it, portraying the creator of this city. Looking at Arthur slowly enjoying his steak, Elena asked "What are we doing here?"

Arthur continued chewing on his steak and pointed with his fork to the fountain.

Elena looked at it but saw nothing. She asked "What is it?" Arthur swallowed the meat and explained "To travel in England, we mainly use floo powder or apparition. Here, they use a different system."

Elena tilted her head and said "The fountains?"

Arthur nodded "Yes. But the people here are strange, it is only opened from midday to midnight. Strange customs."

Elena frowned and asked "What time is it? And are we waiting for someone?" Arthur cut into his steak and replied "Not one, but multiple people. As for what time it is…"

As he said that a strange sound could be heard from the fountain. Only the tourists looked at the source of the noise, as the locals were used to it.

The water stopped flowing, and everything became silent. But then the water raised in the air, forming multiple tentacles of water which each hit the ground. All the tentacles then formed a circular cabin each.

Then blurry things rushed in from the water and one went in each of the tentacles, and only stopped when they hit the ground.

Then people started coming out of the tentacles of water. They weren't wet though.

Elena looked at Arthur and asked "This is their way of traveling? It's beautiful." Arthur shrugged and said while eating "Better than green fire. Every country has different ways."

However Elena didn't take long to see something was wrong. The people who came out were all dressed formally, and were obviously from the same group. They also all had a paper in each of their hands.

Elena couldn't see what was on it, but she could guess that it was a picture of Arthur. Indeed, they all approached a different shop and began showing Arthur's photo, asking if people saw this person.

As one of them came to their restaurant, Elena looked at the strangely calm Arthur and asked "Aren't you worried they will find us?"

Arthur rolled his eyes and said "Who do you take me for?"

Elena didn't say anything else and watched as the man approached their restaurant. Coincidentally, he was heading toward them. Well, not so coincidentally since he had ARTHUR'S damn photo in his hand!

Elena was panicking, and as she prepared to draw out her claws, the man showed them the photo and asked "Have you seen this boy?"

Elena's muscles tensed, but Arthur wiped his mouth and said "Well, funny you ask me, I saw him this morning. Grindelwald, right?"

The man who was interrogating them became excited and said "Yes, that's him! Where did you see him?!"

Though the man was more of a teenager than anything else.

Arthur did not answer him and asked instead "I guess you are hunting for him? Going for his head? Don't worry, you can tell, I'm not an Auror or something."

The teenager laughed and said "I can see that, you are a little young to be an Auror. And yes, we are going after the demon. We don't want another Dark Lord, do we?"

Arthur shook his head and said "I understand. I think you should gather your colleagues, so I tell the intel to everyone."

The teenager nodded in excitement and called for his partners. They all began running toward them, but what no one saw was that Arthur taking out his wand.

He was currently maintaining three illusions at the same time. The first, his changed appearance. The second, his wand's that was out appeared in its holster despite him pointing it at the teenager's face. And the third, Elena's cover.

Keeping all of this without a wand is difficult, so he got his wand out for his next illusion. In the eyes of everyone on the place, the bounty hunters apparated away. Arthur then used another spell that would muffle what is to come.

Soon the 11 men arrived next to Arthur, plus the teenager. One who looked like their leader asked Arthur "Do you really know where this person is?"

Arthur smiled as everyone's eyes were on him, and said "Of course I do." He waved his wand, but no one saw that.

The leader impatiently said "I see what you are doing." Elena freaked out and almost pounced on him before he added "You want a reward? Name your price."

Arthur smiled and said "Really, it's nothing much. I only want all of you to put your hands up."

The leader frowned and said "Why do you want us to do that?"

Arthur laughed and said "Come on, what are you afraid of? You are 12." The leader looked at the others and after a silent agreement they all raised their hands. Then he said "Now tell us."

Arthur smiled and looked at the teenager, who was slightly ahead of everyone, and asked "How old are you?"

The teenager frowned and said with a fake tough voice "Stop beating around the bush!" Arthur smiled and asked "Tell me, and I answer you."

The teenager frowned and said "I am 14." Arthur nodded and said "You look older. Doesn't matter. Grindelwald is behind you."

The teenager opened his eyes wide and turned around, taking his wand out. However, the sight wasn't what he expected. Instead of Arthur Grindelwald, he saw all his partners were tied to crosses made of vines.

They all seemed to be screaming, but no sound was coming out of their mouth. The teenager tried to turned around, but he suddenly felt something tighten around his hands and feet. His feet left the ground, what he discovered to be vines tightened to much that he dropped his wand, and his voice seemed to disappear too.

Arthur got up from his sit and walked in between the teenager and the rest of his group. He looked at the leader and said "I'll cancel the spell on your voice. Don't you dare scream."

The leader shut his mouth, and after he saw Arthur wave his hand, he asked "Why are you doing this to us? Are you with Grindelwald?"

Arthur shook his head and said "Not really. But first, the teenager is your son, right?"

The leader nodded, and Arthur smiled. His face transformed into his real one, and the leader exclaimed "It's you, you damn demon! Release me and fight me like a man!"

Arthur sighed and said "As much as it displeases me, I am still a boy, not a man. And I believe I told you not to scream."

Arthur took out his endless purse with a disappointed face and took out a… gas jerrycan?

The leader sneered "You think you can scare me with this? I'm not afraid of death."

Arthur shook his head, his disappointment rising. "Intelligence isn't really your forte, right? Your group wanted to kill me, so I need to punish you, right?"

The leader tried to insult him, but he found he became mute again. Arthur opened the jerrycan and said "You know I don't really want to kill you all." He threw gas on the teenager who was screaming his soul out with his mute voice, and continued "But I couldn't find any use to you all. Fortunately, I just had an idea. You can be useful. But for that I need you to stop screaming. But you disobeyed me. You don't care about dying, so I have to attack someone else."

By the time he finished speaking, the teenager was drenched in gas. Arthur smiled to the leader and said "I want you to understand that this is your fault. This is because you disobeyed me. Had you followed my order, this wouldn't have happened."

Meanwhile, the wizards around them were unaware that something horrible was about to happen. Children were playing wit each other, teenagers flirting around, there was even someone proposing.
