Harry Potter And The Traveler

Chapter 5 - Magic part 2

Here, anyone with magic power can use spells to conjure any particular thing such as a light with 'Lumos' spell. That means the wizard doesn't need any understanding toward magic at all. As long as they have enough magic power and the tool called 'Wands' they can conjure any spells appropriate to their level and sometimes surpassed the commonly accepted levels. This is in fact true. In the original work Harry Potter was able to conjure a 'Potronous Charm' even though this spells is supposedly very difficult and complicated and not some random d.i.c.k or harry can do this magic and letter his friends was able to do the same. The same also happened to the "Sectumsempra" curse. In the original work Harry used it against Draco resulting in him bleeding all over his body. Harry, although he hated Draco but did not truly intend to harm Draco to such an extent and as a result he felt guilty and horrified by this incident. This shows how understanding toward magic and spells is the most important thing among all else.

In Jake's previous world, the wizards of the Highland Continent had a saying

"With my knowledge I can change thy sky, destroy the land, and make the world tremble before me. With my knowledge I can make a rains, illuminate the darkness and change the fate. I AM A WIZARD, THE MASTER OF ELEMENTS".

This shows that the wizard in his previous world put much emphasis on knowledge and their understanding toward the 'Path'. It does not mean the wizard here do not cherish knowledge. The wizard in this universe do not put emphasis on one's understanding toward the 'Path', but more like pursuing magic blindly following the available spells. Some talented wizard may be able to create their own spells but at the same time these spells become a 'Chain' that restricted the user to see the 'Path' if they are overly reliant on spells. Maybe the notion of seeking the truth of the 'Path' doesn't exist here.

In Jakes previous world there are three main 'Job' to seek enlightenment on the 'Path'. They are Warriors, Wizards and Immortals. Each and every one of this job requires one's understanding and knowledge before actually attaining wisdom and power. To be exact power is just a side effect of understanding the fundamental laws of the universe. For example a warrior mainly study about the 'Micro Cosmos' in other words their own physical body. When they attained a certain knowledge of the element such as the 'Fire' it will manifest itself a tattoo that represent 'Fire' in the universe and 'Body Heat' in the micro cosmos (Google Micro Cosmos and Macro Cosmos concept in Hinduism). Wizard are the one who spent their entire effort understanding the laws and when they do attain it, the laws will manifest itself as runes in their 'Mage Core'. Immortal however are specialized in studying souls. The first 3 stages of Immortal Cultivation, Qi Condensation, Foundation Establishment and Core Formation dealt much with the Qi of heaven and earth. Qi Condensation stage is a stage where a cultivator is gathering Qi from heaven and earth into one's body for further refinement. Foundation Establishment is this stage for a cultivator to collect the Qi they have gathered into a 'Dantian' making something that is previously scattered throughout one's body into something concentrated. Core Formation happened after gathering every bit of the Qi into a Dantian, then a cultivator in this stage will need to compress everything into one smaller point until the Qi transformed from gas to liquid then to a solid core. But after this 3 stage, an Immortal cultivator will start to focus more to the soul rather than the body or the Qi.

In every universe there is always an invisible rule that govern the universe so that it may work properly, like gravity for example. These laws exist to balance the universe. Since in this universe there is such thing as magic there must be a law that govern them. Where does the force known by 'Mana' come from? How is possible for only the selected few to possess this power? Why do spells work the way they do? Into what extent does a wizard can grow? Into what extent does this universe can hold a power of a single being?

The more Jake read the more he realizes that overly reliant on the Magic System that exist here can bring an instant success but also bring restrictions for further growth. Therefore he who aims to surpass his former self decided then and there to build a solid foundation first among all else to avoid the same mistake he previously made. A not stable foundation is highly dangerous further dow the line of immortal cultivation.

Jake began to formulate a plan. First he needs to understand more about magic and spells. Second because of how effective the 'Mind Power' is, he decided to complete the '9 Floor of Mind Palace Spiritual Art'. Third he needs to select an appropriate art to increase his Mana, because according the book he read there are only a few way to increase Mana such as potions and a passive thing such as 'Magic will grow the older you get'. Jake did not believe he, a former eight stage Essence Immortal could not find a way to increase his mana through training. Even Soul Path art such as the 'Mind Palace Spiritual Art' can be trained here. He believed with enough foundation he can forge a new path for himself here in a completely different universe from his previous one.
