Harry Potter: Rise Of The Serpent

Chapter 6 - New Body and All Its Wonders

I rustled the sheets as I lifted my head off of Ruby and she slithered out from under me.

Alastair: "How long have I been asleep?" I ask as I stand up but fall back on the bed with a massive head ache.

Ruby: "Just a week." She says as she slithers up my body and takes her usual position around my neck. "I wouldn't move yet if I were you. You went through numerous advanced rituals so your body is still going to be in some pain." She explains to me as I walk towards my nightstand.

Alastair: "Okay. I'll keep that in mind." I say as I grab the numbing draught from my nightstand and drink it.

The pain quickly faded away as each drop of the potion was swiftly consumed.

Ruby: "What're you going to do next, lord?" She asks as I walk out of my room and head towards the training field.

Alastair: "I need to practice with my new body. After that, I'm going to forge myself a wand and then finally I'll practice parselmagic. I already have a pretty good handle on regular, chant-less and wand-less magic but I want to wait until I have a wand that suits me until practicing parselmagic."

Ruby: "If you already know all those different kinds of magic why do you need to learn parselmagic? Isn't it just the same magic but in a different language?"

Alastair: "The language of modern spells is latin, right? Well, while latin has some magical properties littered in the language, parseltongue is practically drowning in magic making the spells considerably more powerful." I explain, as I climb down the stairs to the bottom-most part of the castle where the training field lies.

Ruby: "I see. I've only ever used parselmagic so I don't know about the differences in magic properties."

Alastair: "Then I guess you'll be my teacher for using ancient and lost parselmagic."

Ruby: "Of course. I have to make sure you become as strong as possible. There are a lot of dark forces in this world and you need to be prepared."

Alastair: "Dark forces? You mean like Dumbledore or Voldemort?"

Ruby: "Both of them are mere puppets for the true enemy but you shouldn't concern yourself with something like that just yet. When you are strong enough I will tell you."

Soon after our conversation ends I come to an empty coliseum type room. It just goes to show you how completely huge the castle is. In the coliseum there isn't much besides a few training dummies and weapons.

Alastair: "So how do I activate the Serpentine Devil bloodline?"

Ruby: "It's always activated. You are no longer human but a Serpentine Devil as well as a vampire so I guess we can call you a Vampiric Serpentine Devil. What you wizards call an animagus transformation is essentially the skill you've acquired but with a few more perks. You have a longer life span, boosted regeneration (even more so being a vampire), you can compel all serpents to do your bidding, as well as the obvious bodily changes. You will become more and more attractive as you age much like a veela but without the pheromones (being a vampire also contributes to this.) Those are all that I know for sure but I'm sure more affects will make themselves known to you with time."

Alastair: "I see. I'll have to doc.u.ment the changes as they appear." I say as I walk in front of one of the dummies.

I point my finger at the dummy and green light starts to gather at the tip of my finger.

"AVADA KEDAVRA"

The green lightning shoots from my finger and hits the dummy square in the c.h.e.s.t. I had long broken my wand. It couldn't handle the sheer amount of magic in some of my rituals and eventually broke. This just heightened my need for my own wand even more, one that is able to handle the strain of my magic.

Ruby: "Why don't you practice your vampiric abilities." She suggests.

Alastair: "That's a good idea."

My eyes start to glow a bright crimson and I can feel a rush of power fill my body. From the top of my head to the tip of my toes, a warm energy courses through me. I barely jump off the ground and suddenly I'm thirty feet in the air. I stay up there for a while before I start to fall.

Alastair: "Shit....how am I gonna get down?" I think to myself right before I start my decent. "F.u.c.k f.u.c.k f.u.c.k f.u.c.k!" I scream as I get closer and closer to the ground.

My body slams against the ground, breaking every bone in my body and puncturing several organs. Oddly enough I barely felt any pain at all, just a little prick whenever I moved. I could feel the warmth of my blood dripping from my body but I stayed calm, as if I instinctually knew I would be alright. I took a deep breath and a few seconds later, my body started to put itself back together. The blood flew back into my body and my bones removed themselves from my organs and reattached themselves. The puncture wounds on my organs quickly closed themselves and before I knew it, I was completely healed. This whole process took no more than five seconds and I'm soon on my feet once again.

Alastair: "Amazing. My regeneration is no joke. The only thing that maybe would've healed those injuries is phoenix tears."

Ruby: "Yes. Your regeneration truly is remarkable however, don't get complacent. There are many things that can kill a vampire." She says as she raises her head from my shoulder.

Alastair: "Yes, yes. I know."

Ruby: "Good. Now, try out your super speed."

I do as she says and gather the warmth in my body, channelling it into my legs and push off. I feel the wind brushing against my face as I run l.a.p.s around the coliseum. After running one hundred l.a.p.s I return back to my previous position.

Ruby: "So? How does it feel?"

Alastair: "Exhilarating. I'll have to make sure to add body training to my daily routine."

Ruby: "Just don't wear yourself out. It would be extremely embarrassing if you die of exhaustion."

I let out a small chuckle as my mind wanders, thinking about such a thought.

Alastair: "Okay, I understand. I'll take a few days off but only after I've finished my wand." I tell her as I scratch her forehead.

Ruby: "Fine. That's acceptable." She says as she nuzzles her forehead into my finger and gives the snake equivalent of a purr.

I then leave the coliseum and head back to my laboratory, thinking about the materials I would need and the design.
