Harry Potter’s Defense Professor

Chapter 69: Before school starts (Part 1)

In the next few days, Lockhart tried his best not to talk to Hermione, and even refused her to enter his room. When eating, he kept his face straight. After eating, he quickly went back to his room and locked the door.

On the last day of summer vacation, Lockhart was working on some teaching stuff and getting ready to go back to school.

Suddenly, there was a lot of noise from the next door, and the group of children started frantically not knowing what to do again. Lockhart walked out of the room to take a look.

"Look and let your dad know! Ron, I'm so proud of you, how wonderful that you'll be the head of school like Bill and Percy, that's the first step! Oh, I can't believe that in such a mess I'm so excited that there's such a thing in there, oh, Ronnie—"

Weasley wrapped his arms around Ron's neck, kissing every part of Ron's face hard, and Ron's face was now redder than his badge.

"Oh, Gilderoy, you don't know yet, Ron is a prefect now!" Jasmine shared her joy with Lockhart.

"Also, Hermione is a prefect too!" Ron shouted as he got rid of his mother.

"Really, Hermione, I'm so happy, this room is full of prefects!" Jasmine went to hug Hermione again.

But Hermione was still very depressed. She realized that Lockhart was going to treat him and her own thoughts coldly. She was in the kind of despair that she couldn't even do with Lockhart's friends, and she couldn't feel any happiness at all.

"Child, be happy, what's the matter with you, are you not feeling well?" Jasmine found that Hermione was not very interested.

"No!" Hermione shook off Mrs Weasley and rushed downstairs.

"Oh—poor girl." Molly looked at Lockhart and said reproachfully, "Gidro, even if you have a girlfriend, you can't be so indifferent to her. When we eat later, can you behave Be nice, it hurts so much."

"Well, I thought being indifferent was the least hurtful way to deal with it." Lockhart shrugged.

"How is it possible that a girl doesn't care if you have a girlfriend if she likes you. If you kiss her a little bit, as long as you don't be seen by your girlfriend, she will be very happy."

"Okay, you are here, listen to you." Lockhart was helpless, "I will congratulate her later."

About six o'clock Mrs. Weasley came back from Diagon Alley. She brought back a lot of books and a long package wrapped in thick kraft paper for her children.

"Guidero has eaten, come downstairs," she said, "remember what I said before."

In the kitchen in the basement, Mrs. Weasley hung a scarlet banner above the table full of food, which read:

congratulate

new prefect

Ron Hermione

Lockhart had never seen Molly so happy all holiday.

"I think we should have a little celebration and not sit and eat," said Mrs. Weasley, seeing Harry, Ron, Hermione, Fred, George and Ginny enter the room, "you Daddy and Bill are on their way home, Ron, I had the owl send them a letter, and they're all so happy," she continued beaming.

Fred rolled his eyes.

Sirius, Lupin, Tonks and Kingsley had all arrived, and Lockhart had just come downstairs when he saw Mad-Eye Moody limping in.

"Oh, Moody, I'm so glad you came," said Mrs Weasley happily, as Moody was taking off his travel cloak, "we've been waiting for you for a long time, can you check for me? The writing desk in the living room, see what's locked inside? We don't want to open it, it would be bad if there was something dangerous inside."

"No problem, Jasmine."

Moody's electric blue magic eyes turned up, and his eyes went straight through the ceiling of the kitchen.

"The living room..." he growled, his pupils narrowed, "that desk in the corner? Yes, I saw... yes, a Boggart... Do you want me to remove it, Jasmine?"

"No, no, no, I'll do it myself later," said Mrs. Weasley happily, "you must have something to drink~www.wuxiahere.com~We're having a little celebration...  She pointed to the scarlet banner. "There are four prefects in the house," she stroked Ron's hair lovingly.

"Prefect, eh?" Moody muttered, turning his normal eyes to Ron, but his magic eyes turned to the side of his head. Harry had a bad feeling, as if the magic eye was looking at him, and he walked away to Sirius and Lupin.

"Congratulations, then," Moody said, still staring at Ron with his normal eyes, "usually people with power are more likely to get in trouble, but I guess Dumbledore thinks you can handle pretty bad luck, otherwise He won't choose you either..."

"It's a strange way of looking at things, Moody," Lockhart said.

"Gidero." Jasmine motioned to him.

"Oh, congratulations, two little prefects." Lockhart said with a smile.

"Come on, I think we should toast," Arthur raised his glass when everyone had their drinks, "To Ron and Hermione, our new Gryffindor prefect, toast!"

Everyone raised their glasses to cheer for them, and then all applauded.

"Hermione, why are you crying?" Tonks asked curiously, she put her arms around Lupin, and now her whole body was glowing with happiness.

"The professor ignored her for two days!" Ginny complained angrily.

"Guidero, why?" Tonks obviously couldn't turn his head.

"It's nothing, Ginny said nonsense, I'm happy." Hermione hurriedly wiped away her tears and smiled.

"Gidro, you said yourself to be polite to ladies, didn't you?" Tonks said happily as he walked over to Lockhart, who today had waist-length ginger-red hair that looked like Ginny "You have to apologize to Hermione and give her a hug."
