Haunted System: Path To A Superstar

Going back to the main menu of the game, Jay clicked on the rewards gift box.

The top of the box flew open with light, and the whole box began to shake. With the trembling of the yellowish present, a card flew out of the box, coming to cover the scene with the ghoul.

[Gained a mission token!.]

[Unlocked Granny's Ring! -A ring that can identify the living from the dead-]

Upon the anouncement of the text, a ring materialized in front of Jay Kaiya. A white ring made with wierd materials, the same as the one he saw two nights ago.

Reading the message, Jay Kaiya now remembered what the ring was. In the past he had a conversation with his Granny once about ring.

"Granny, Granny! Whats that ring you have always been wearing recently? Is it something of Grandpa's?"

Chuckling his grandma responded back to him at that time.

"Oh... This ring Jay... Well I suppose it is indeed special."

"Is it one of your wierd antiques again?... You already have so much..."

"No, this ring is actually similar to a temperature ring. The only difference is that it turns white when I'm about to die. You know, Granny's getting old, so I bought this so I can prepare on that day."

Scared, Jay had stopped their conversation short. Don't talk about then though, even now he was freaked out! How the heck was this cursed thing a reward!?

Grabbing the stupid ring, he threw it at the other end of the room, to get it far away from his sight.

Relieved Jay looked back at the phone. The ring was sitting on top...

"HOLY-"

"Jay are you alright!?"

"Agh, yes I'm fine! Just droped my phone on my feet!"

"Ok, be careful!"

Granny Jin yelling from across the house, stopped his yelp short. Sighing, Jay turned back towards the ring. The ring was now on his finger... Colored the color of blood...

Not bothering about this thing anymore, he clicked on the store as it was where he thought the token was to be spent.

Items spreading around the screen, soon the background changed once more. This time it was a traditional asian vender shop where the cart is pulled. The red paper lantern shone, giving a redish hue to the cart. In the middle were two cats.

One was white and the other was black, resembling Yin and Yang. The Yin cat was for Nightmare tokens, and the Yang cat was for Mission Tokens.

Cl.i.c.k.i.n.g the white cat, a warning popped up, informing him if he truly wished to do this, and what this was for.

[Do you wish to proceed the transaction? Mission tokens give prizes that trait and match with your earned rewards.]

'Earned rewards?'

Glancing at the ring on his finger, which was now even more lodged, he decided to hold off on this thing for now.

Due to this, he clicked on the Yin cat, but it deflined him because of his lack of tokens.

As there was no longer anything he can do here, he backed out of this section to return to the missions area.

The scroll reappearing no longer had a text pop up. It showed the original test beneath it. One on the right was to click on a white dragon labled missions, and one on the left was a white dragon labled nightmares.

Cl.i.c.k.i.n.g on the mission's dragon, the mythical creature flew to replace the screen with its scales and fur. Filling the screen with a patterned white. A list appeared in the middle going down, like those in a dance song titles in a dance game.

The thing even had a number corresponding to his level at the top left. His level was currently just one. This probably related to the difficulty of his missions.

Everything listed right now had one or half a stars next to them. The names were faded as they appeared to only show once they are hovered over.

Scrolling through, every one of them were pure creepy. The Willow's Spouse, My Missing Man, Slithering Mirror, and so on. There were some normal names, but all the descreptions were definately not normal.

[I was only a janitor, cleaning the rooms assigned, yet every time I do, what comes off is not black, but red. The smell reeks, however by the time I run out, the things went gray, just like they were only dirt that was scrubbed. My boss won't believe me, so I kept working telling its my imagination, however one day I hears a voice, "Won't you visit me?". It floated through the air shafts, a cold coming into my ear, since then my broom has resembled bones, it was already too late once I recognized it was my own.]

Each had a different goal to, such as surving, solving the case, and many others. Exiting this area, he went towards the nightmare missions.

The screen was replaced to white, and only a sign appeared titles Daily Mission. Below it were the details.

This also looked scary, but it seemed more manageable. He was already this far into this new world, and his days were due, so why not give this a try? To see what the nightmare tokens will give?
