Haunted System: Path To A Superstar

Chapter 8 - Monsters! Ghosts!

Some of the glass shards flew into his blanket which covered him. Without that to cover him, Jay would've most likely been injured heavily.

Jay Kaiya was a decisive man, although he was scared out of his wits, and even had tears in his eyes, he knew he needed to act.

'I need to get out!'

Abruptly standing up he threw his blanket at his Granny. Well- At least whatever that was... He had no time to ponder about it for now though, as Jay was heavily pressed for time.

The blanket hit its target causing his Granny to be pushed into the corner with the antique phone. By luck the blanket enshrouded her, causing the glass shards to rip at her skin as she struggled to get out.

Jay dashed out of the futon wishing to exit this house as fast as possible.

Before he could pass by his Granny, a picture of his ancestor fell on top of his head, causing him to stagger.

This was the chance that was needed for the monsters in this room. A red rope shot out from the decorarive bow, which was originally used as a decorative tie.

The rope with the color of blood flew out and wrapped Jay, making him fly back into the room, yanking his upper body into the air first.

His body crashed into the shelf at the oppsite corner of the room, as dolls fell off the shelf and onto the tatami floor. The white figurines wearing wearing kimonos, fixed themselves up from the ground and made their way towarda Jay Kaiya.

Reaching their arms out, they slowly stepped towards Jay as if they have found a new toy. Their painted eyes glew in the dark, interested with their new playmate.

Jay not wishing to be their friends, grabbed one of the arrows near the bow, and swung the sharp point down onto the rope snapping it.

Every second counted, and counting the time he had been stuck, his Granny should be coming out anytime now. Wait, no-

Taking a glance at his Granny in the corner covered by the sheets, he thought of another possibilty. His Granny had already escaped! There was no reason for none of her body to be outside the blanket yet! She is just waiting for me to come by!

Thinking of this he dared not take a chance, so he grabbed the Buddha statue right near him as this was what annoyed him the most.

With the Buddha's smile quickly turning upside down, Jay Kaiya threw the statue at his grandma's head.

Kicking the dolls near his feet flying, he made a beeline for the front entrance.

Pahhh!-

Getting a headshot, the woman howled in a tone that did not match her body frame. The house partly shook which caused things to fall down.

He didn't even bother in trying to get his bag that carried his belongings. He wished to be free! He wished to be alive! He wished to get outside this hell hole!

Reaching the old metal door he opened up the top lock and turned the door knob.

Gacha- Cha!- Cha!!- Cha!!!- Cha!!!!-

"Crap!"

Jay Kaiya forgot that this door was only unlockable by a key because his Granny felt that the house was not safe, when he was left alone in the house before when he lived here.

Facing this mistake he decided to still try and exit, as this was the easiest way to exit the house. Backing a little, he rammed his body into the door over and over, hoping that it will break. Everything in the the house was old and almost in disrepair, so he clung to this detail as his hope.

BANG-

BANG-

BANG-

Fuaaa-

The door did not open, but instead the blanket was thrown off. He no longer wished to stay here as he would be trapped in a corner. He ran back inside the living room, and he ended up meeting his grandma again.

Her head was dented inwards by the Buddha statue, while gashes and cuts appeared over her body, caused by the glass shards stuck in his blanket.

Jay Kaiya blanking out for a second, the wounded old lady strolled towards her grandson. There was no blood dripping, but it made her seem more horrific. Lastly to top it all off and cause Jay' mind to break, his Granny whose mouth was dented into her skull gave a crooked smile.

Jay Kaiya, screaming didn't go towards the small walk way towards her, but jumped over the table and couches in the living room. His mind breaking apart, his actions were basically being fueled by pure instinct.

With his lack of control he slammed into the shelves which created the entrance to the L shaped hallway, throwing everything into a mess.

His body was full of bruises as he layed on top of the shelf which tilted towards the oppisite wall. He did not care for how much it hurt as he started to crawl out of the mess, to reach the kitchen with tears starting to drip from his eyes.

His Granny seeming to be concerned for his well being, walked towards the hall and started climbing over the shelves following him.

"You seem hurt... Why don't you let Granny kiss you to make you feel better Jay?"

Water streaming down his face, Jay threw the round table in the kitchen down, and continued his way towards the shower room. He wished to make anything stall his grandma for as long as he can.

He threw a shelf containing dishes down to block the hallway again. The floor boards creaked as he made his way into the room. Shutting the door he inserted the lock in the hole.

His ears heard the noise of her stepping onto the glass, grinding it. He was running out of time.

Looking at the window, this was his only exit. Remembering what happened last time he was here, he did not dare to take any chances.

He grabbed the shampoo bottle he had left and threw it hard into the mirror, smashing it to peaces. The glass pieces fell mostly around and in the sink.

Standing the creepy stares from the many reflections, Jay hurried to unlock the window once more. The window was opened, but his Granny came closer.

Putting his hand on the window and his b.a.r.e feet on top of the glass on the sink, he beared the pain and fit his body out the window.

BANG!

The shower lock broke with one try, and she entered the room staring at the empty open window.

Jay climbed over a small wall and entered the street. The roads were short, but they felt more elongated than normal. There were also almost no working street lights functioning, leaving the only light source be from a pole behind him.

Jay Kaiya's bloody b.a.r.e feat limped and hopped down the street seeking safety. Various rocks and pebbles scr.a.p.ed accross the bloody feet creating deeper gashes. He only needed to reach the main road used for driving and he will be safe.

Before he can reach even a couple feet, his body shivered as he knew this was the end. The lighting in front of him showed a shadow of an arm growing quickly behind his outline, trying to catch him.

Dropping to his knees Jay gave up. If the world wanted him gone this much, than just take him already...

As a student who majored in the genre of horror, he always thought of countless ways he would end up dying. He never thought it will be the ghosts he studied that will be the end of him though... Despair filled his heart.

A hand soon gripped his neck and he was speedily pulled back. Watching the shadow in front of him, his eyes were dead of hope.

The speed picked up as the arm retracted closer to its target, but then Jay saw something else that came out from the shadow showing the scene to his death.

A bigger shadow grew out of nowhere and popped into the scene. It was at first a speck of dust, but it soon enlarged into a cloud. It covered all the lighting behind him, engulfing Jay in darkness, unable to see what was going on.

Jay Kaiya's body now drastically picked up its speed, and the force gripping him grew weak. His body ended up flying into the brick wall from earlier, but not through the window. By the sudden pain Jag passed out, fading into unconsciousness.

He could no longer see what was playing out around him as Jay's body was left in the streets bleeding, making a pool of dark red. Blood leaking out as time passed by.
