As I lived in Korea, all my life, I wasted it all by studying hard.

It was a place where I considered my grades on the line, so my daily life was to bury my head under the lamp, reading all the books and studying hard, during the exam period.

I think insomnia started like that.

“Ah-oh! Why can’t you speak? Confess your feelings, jerk?”

At the same time, I was a fan of the book titled, 〈The Powerful Princess〉.

A sleep, which I enjoyed as much as eating, became something which is difficult for me to do.

I naturally stayed up all night looking for something interesting to kill my time.

I didn’t regret it. A romance novel that I accidentally discovered while searching on the Internet for too long.

Because it made my dawn full of laughter.

Perhaps I spent more than half a year re-reading this book.

As such, I became impatient to finish it because it was so much fun to read and the content was full of excitement.

Of course, it wasn’t all about romance.

Carlos, the male protagonist, was a pushover.

“Oh, it’s frustrating, uh! You please don’t do that… … ! Where do all the ordinary options go?”

Talking to myself while reading is normal.

It is my daily life that I cried, laughed, and was happy to be angry.

Sweet potatoes* taste better the more you read them!

(TN: Sweet potatoes; means the story is stuffy.)

I didn’t mind the dark circles rising under my eyes and continued reading sincerely.

Although it was only a simple romance novel with only up to two books.

The love between the main characters, Elchevita and Carlos, was enough for me.

While reading the novel, it was good to forget the stress of insomnia and to be able to immerse myself only.

So, I was a genuine fan of the first expedition and a person who took great pride in 〈The Powerful Princess.

“Are you reading that again?”

“Yeah. It’s fun.”

“I can’t stop you..…. Do you know that you’re funnier at this point?”

“I don’t know. What’s there to know?”

I could hear a sigh as I shrugged my shoulders without taking my eyes off of the book.

That image of me repeated for a whole year before my friend gave up.

There was a sound of glass hitting the table.

“Stop reading and drink.”

“Oh, thank you.”

We were in a café with calm music. My friend’s voice resonated in my head and she was the only one I could hear in the room.

I gently blinked, smiled and took my mouth off the straw.

“I’m sorry. I can’t control myself to read just a little bit.”

I meant it. There was nothing particularly malicious with me, reading this book.

I just arrived at the appointment earlier than my friend, so I was just going to take a look at the later chapter of 〈The Powerful Princess〉 that came out today.

As always, this book was time-strapped.

Anyway, it was clear that it was a seriously addictive novel.

When I hurriedly said my apology, the friend’s expression softened in a moment.

She said as soon as she looked at the book with not-so hateful eyes.

“I was fascinated to death. What kind of person who used to tremble when it comes to reading, starts to live with only books… .“

“Actually, me too.”

“What?”

“Sometimes, I’m amazed too. That I am like this.”

My friend laughed as if she was dumbfounded at my answer. But I didn’t tell a lie.

It’s been a fact I’ve felt for almost a year, but whenever other people tell me it’s strange or what’s going on with me, I just approach it like an unfamiliar feeling.

“How should I say it? I found it by accident while lounging around in the middle of the night, but I knew it as soon as I saw the real thing.”

“About what?”

“I think I have to read this novel.”

“You’re funny… What else do you think you have to read?”

I shrugged at her words and covered the book.

“I don’t know, either. I just feel that every time I read it.”

Why? There’s something like that.

Emotions that feel special as if they were chosen.

I always get a special sense of sight while reading this book.

“Anyway, I love you so much.”

“Why don’t you say that to your friends in that book?”

Accepting the drink my friend gave me, I replied vigorously.

“I don’t know if they’re friends, but I know all of them too well.”

Words that I used to say like a joke. I know ‘all’ about them.

One spring day in April.

In places you never imagined and in times you’ve never thought of.

I regretted saying this over and over again.

“Rose, are you close to the team leader?”

“No.”

“Oh, no? When I saw you talking with him last time, you seemed to know each other that great.”

“We don’t know each other well. You saw it wrong. I don’t know much about him.”

I smiled bitterly and responded back to Ishid’s words.

I decided as of this moment.

I will take into account that this novel is passing by like nothing, such as pride in the novel.

“Hmm… Did I push you too hard? I’m sorry if you weren’t close. I guess I misunderstood the two because the team leader showed interest in you.”

Ishid’s steps stopped.

When he led the way to the hospital room where Carlos was, he quickly became embarrassed after a few words.

I wonder if it had anything to do with the worries he talked about earlier, I have to be a little more honest in that sense.

I glanced up sharply at him.

Ishid forgot about the signs of his seriousness and was smiling, patting my head.

I guess he wanted to connect Carlos and I.

Oh, that’s not good because it’s a little contrived.

“What? Why are you reflecting on yourself now?”

While passing by the lobby, he hit his arm with a bouquet of flowers and got goosebumps.

Then he groaned without being sick.

“Why did you only write good things here?”

“It’s going to be used for good things soon, so it’s okay.“

As soon as I replied casually, a smirk returned.

“It’s unique in many ways. Your rationalization is amazing at times like this.“

“What about rationalization? People say that even if they only talk, they eat half of their lives.”

“End’s one life…nHuh?”

“It’s okay. There’s something like that.”

I took the lead this time, handing over the bouquet of flowers that I was tapping to his arms.

The reports that were organized along with Ishid, after the explosion incident, the headquarters of the ward came.

Carlos, who is currently out of his mind, is said to be lying here.

I was expecting it.

I couldn’t have felt good after receiving a call from Meichel and Dice, who had arrived at the ward first.

If I knew this would happen, I would have cured his physical condition.

It seems that the power control was wrong due to inexperienced control. I was disappointed.

“Oh, it’s over there. Rose.”

“Room 106?”

“Yes.”

I turned around, loosening my wrinkled forehead.

It was a long and boring lobby, so I wondered when we would arrive, but the destination was just around the corner.

A sliding door, which greeted me, was decorated with sophisticated striped patterns. Ishid slowly reached out and grabbed the handle.

Calm deep breath and soft sound.

Looking at him lying down, what should I say? Obviously, I had those thoughts and looked forward to what would happen with nervous eyes.

But the only seriousness was at that moment.

“Please let me know when Miss Lutiens will come. I’ll close my eyes for now and lie down again.”

“Hey, are you very shy? I am not like Rose, but I think I am a little unlucky. That’s why you dumped my confession right away!”

“Sorry, Miss Magnolia is not my type.“

“It’s okay. I just changed my type. First off, it’s not you.“

“That’s a relief.”

“My, my, team leader, and Ms. Meichel. Please speak in a formal language.….”

A story that ends quickly and connects with anew.

Additionally, not only the subject matters, but the jokes that made the story go light.

Not only Carlos, who did not lose his mind, but also the unexpected friendly atmosphere of the team members made me laugh for a while.

“Oh, my…”

The pounding heart cooled down.

There are two idiots here.

“Oh, well.”

First of all, I rolled my eyes for a long time because I didn’t know what to say first.

Also, the exact fact was that Meichel was noisy, Dice was embarrassed, and Carlos was overly relaxed.

I almost didn’t believe it at first.

All the arrogant expressions on their faces back in the banquet hall had disappeared, so anyone would naturally believe that they were someone else.

I stopped as it was, and only saw Carlos.

It was only a moment for him to notice because he had a good sense of movement.

“….”

He slightly changed lips. The line became thicker.

He noticed my visit, but he just stared, and he didn’t respond much.

Unintentionally, I had the initiative in the atmosphere here.

By the way, Is that really his attitude, to lie down with his eyes closed when I finally come?”

“Rose.”

Ishid, who was standing next to me and looking through the situation tactfully, touched me.

He held my shoulder weakly as if saying to come to my senses, and soon gave me a bouquet of flowers in my hand.

A present for a visit to the hospital that I handed over earlier to him.

It was rosemary.

“….”

I looked alternately at flowers and Ishid with bewildered eyes.

Sure enough, he was smiling, too.

“Go and say thank you. He’s your savior.“

“Savior…”

“I’ll give you a seat. Do your best, okay?“

With so much whispering, he staggered forward and raised Meichel and Dice to stand up.

Even though they showed embarrassed faces, they quickly changed their mood at a glance of Ishid’s eyes.

They are the kind of people who are really tearfully well-matched.
