He Whom Is Abandoned

Chapter 6 - Interrogation

It was a basic spear, but it was very nicely made and felt extremely sturdy. Wood that was made from trees in the dungeon, and a spear head made from metal mined off a dungeon ore vein. This weapon was made from the dungeon, for the dungeon.

--How ironic that it feels so comfortable for me. Something made exclusively from the dungeon, being used by someone whom was never meant to roam the dungeon. It's actually poetic.

"From the look on your face you like that spear. Your dad might just need to let you keep this one." Bruce gave a good laugh. "That spear would go for about a gold in Averon, but I'll give it to you for 80 bronze. Thats 20 coins less. A good deal, don't you think?"

"Yes, it really is." Agis ran his fingers across the flat part of the blade. "After I saw what happened to Mrs.P and her granddaughter, I've been excited to test out a weapon as good as this."

Bruce was taken back.

"Wait, wh-"

But before he could say anything, the head of the spear had been lodged into his skull. He became limp immediately, his body falling to the floor with a thump.

[You achieved level 2, one skill point awarded]

"A good spear indeed."

Agis pulled the spear back and stabbed again, then again, and again.

--This town killed Mrs.P and her granddaughter. So i'll kill this town. Today, that starts with you.

Agis walked to the back where the living quarters were located and got a new shirt and shorts. He needed to avoid standing out so the guards wouldn't attack him. He still wasn't confident enough to take on the guards. Humans don't have exoskeletons, they can't self regenerate limbs, and they can die from a single sword swipe or stab. He may have twice as many stats in toughness than before, but he still had no real defence. It was like this, even if you double the toughness of paper, it's still a piece of paper. The current Agis was very much a glass cannon.

He also took the time to wipe the blood off his arms and legs. He found that the shoes Bruce had actually fit him as well, a full new set of clothes. Even if the shirt was a bit big…

He then grabbed a few items to start a fire with from the forge, and started a small fire on the counter top. After making sure the fire would spread, Agis ditched the straw hat onto Bruce's body, and left. He looked back one last time.

"Burn in hell, I'll meet you again there."

He made sure his stealth skill was active, and got out of the village. The fire roared behind him, causing a massive amount of people to try and put it out. The guards pitched in as well. No one noticed as he vanished into the forest.

...….

Agis made sure to practice his sprint skill on the way back, managing to level it up to 3 by the time he was in the dungeon. He found a small pocket in the dungeon wall that he could sit in and checked over his stats.

--This little trip has been really beneficial. I managed to get a nice spear and gain some skill levels, and got a skill point! A big haul for sure. I think I unlocked the requirements for lung attack too, if the requirement accepts the farmer I killed. I used dash to get close to him and kneed him. I wonder if it counted…

[Biomass invalid.]

[Tunnel sense: cost 1sp, improves sense of direction when underground. Requirements: Spend at least 24 hours underground. All requirements met.]

[Lunge attack: cost 1sp, adds the ability to launch forward at high speed with an attack at short distances. All requirements met.]

[Mana manipulation: cost 1sp, basic skill to manipulate absorbed mana. Requirements: Have at least a basic core. All requirements met.]

--Awesome! Looks like the kill counter.

Agis continued to ponder which skill he should take next.

--All three are amazing options, I really wish I could just get them all. Sadly, there's no way that will happen anytime soon. Tunnel sense should happen soon so I don't get lost, but first let's get lunge attack. I really want mana manipulation, but I don't have the luxury to play with magic yet, I want to get a bit stronger physically first.

[Would you like to buy lunge attack? It will cost 1 skill point.]

--Yes!

That same feeling as before washed over Agis's mind. It was euphoric, an amazing feeling. Knowledge was streamed into his head, it felt like warm rays from the sun enveloped his body. After the feeling disappeared, Agis gathered a few rocks and stacked them in front of the small pocket in the wall, creating a small cubby with only a tiny hole that would let just enough air in to breath. Once he was confident that no monster would find him as he slept, he laid down and shut his eyes.

...….

"Child! Do not lie to me! We know you do not have access to the system. Tell us where your so called 'parents' found you!"

"They didn't find me anywhere! My mom gave birth to me!"

"Lies! Where in the dungeon are you from?"

"I'm not from a dungeon!"

"More lies! You stupid f.u.c.k.i.n.g child! Do not lie to me again! Were you spawned at a spawn point? Are you a pet of the Sophos!?"

Agis sat in a chair across the table from the Bishop whom was asking questions. Bishop Tulvir. He was a horrible man. His white beard and balding head made him look just as sinister as he acted. The bagged eyes didn't help either. He had dragged Agis here, starved him, and beat him when he did not give 'appropriate' and 'honest' answers. Agis didn't know why the Bishop wouldn't believe him, or why the Bishop hurt his family. He didn't do anything to deserve this, nor did his mom and dad.

"I'm not from the dungeon!" Agis screamed back in tears, only to get a fist to the cheek. He cried in pain, blood dripping from his chin.

"Stop it with the lies! We know what you are! A monster!"

"I'm not a monster! I'm not!" Another fist came to the same cheek. It hurt, badly. The pain was intense, and it wouldn't go away. It had been days of beatings, days of torture, but they wouldnt listen.

"That's it boy! You, servant over there! Get the hot iron!"

The servants eyes widened. He was excited. He finally got to burn the skin of the sinner.
