Hell Fighter Samael

Chapter 4 - Summoning

The woman led Samael through a series of military tents, communication equipment and firearms were scattered randomly reflecting the chaos of the last minute evacuations. The woman held her hand up, stopping Sam as she approached what looked to be a massive shipping container.

"I placed claymores and laser detonators as a precaution."

She quickly disarmed the explosive devices that were expertly hidden within a few meters of the container. After a few minutes, she signaled for Sam to approach.

Samael palmed a few claymores and stuffed them into his bag without hesitation. His philosophy is you can never have too many explosives...well, within reason. Even with his strength stats, he can still get an enc.u.mbered status. That is, unless the woman isn't lying and what is in the container is thorium-powered Exo-suits.

"How did you manage to get access to the shipping container? I'm assuming that is normally beyond your paygrade?"

Sam chuckled, not expecting an answer.

"...I killed the officer in charge of purging the equipment. He didn't give a damn what we had to face after he escaped with the others, so my until didn't give a damn about breaking UCMJ."

He was surprised by the honest answer. Also didn't blame her or her fellow soldiers for their choice. Survival isn't always as clear as right or wrong. Especially in the case where you command structure was effectively made moot by leaving you behind to die in a dying world.

"Well, his loss was our gain. Let's hurry...uh...miss."

She looked slightly embarrassed.

"...Lilith."

"...Samael. A p.l.e.a.s.u.r.e."

Samael gestured for her to open the container.

After swiping a quantum smart keycard from her now deceased commanding officer, she pushed the reinforced door forward. Lights inside of the container came to life immediately, illuminating the armory.

Samael was slightly shocked at what was left. Homing grenade launchers, Howitzer-class "Mag" cannons, various Exo-suits lined the walls, hard-light weapons in stasis holders, Cerberus-class supply carriers, and so many other gadgets that would make even the most advanced armies in the solar system drool.

"...Right? I wanted to touch myself after opening up this bad boy and seeing what we screwed them out of taking."

She smiled, smugly. Proud of the one victory she managed in his hell-hole.

"Alright. Then let's get started. I would suggest we get a couple of the Cerberus carriers to carry they heavier gear."

She nodded, agreeing. She immediately started to access the near-by console and powered up the 4 legged transport robots, which, as the classification suggests, are in the shape of canines. Their graphine and other nano-weave parts allowing for the machines to hold weights thousands of times greater than themselves.

"Well now. Must be fate. It's been awhile, my friend."

Samael smiled as he approached a black exo-suit which stood out from the rest. A cold glint of blue appeared in his eyes as he dropped his bag and powered up the suit that had the words "Durandal".

"...well shit. I keep missing this guy."

The leviathan demon sat on the counter of the civilian supply store, snacking on some cakes. Hell doesn't have bakers...well, none that would choose to bake sweets over flesh. He savored the flavor that can only be found in these realms with humans.

"The cameras showed him entering this place, but nothing past that. It's unfortunate that not all the cameras are operational or this wouldn't be dragging on so long."

If he was honest with himself...he wasn't really putting any effort into hunting the human. All good things must end eventually, though. Unless he wanted to flayed and tortured for the next millennia, he needed to crack the whip on the hunt.

"I guess it's time to go with Zerg tactics."

The demon's eyes started to glow red as infernal magic circles formed in the air around him. Soon after, growls and m.o.a.ns in all directions within the city echoed out.

An undead was feasting happily on the corpse of a rat as several undead wandered aimlessly in the parking area of a McDowels. His ragged business suit continuously was coated with new blood stains.

A series of howls shattered the unsettling snacking of the once self-important business man. A shock wave of magical energy rippled past the undead. Their eyes immediate opened wide as they screamed out in unison. Turning towards the direction of the storage container, all the undead within 20 kilometers ran straight towards the center of the summoning.
