Help...My Wife Is A Spy

Halia felt herself fall into the man's arms. As much as she wanted to run away, she had no strength to do so.

She knew something didn't feel right about their investigation, but a nurse wasn't something that ever came to mind. Perhaps Alex was right...everyone did underestimate them.

Back at the police station, senior detective Murray Yang had just reported his discovery to the police chief.

"Our first victim had a 'doctor' boyfriend who went by the name Isaac Yan, but it appears as though it was a case of stolen identity."

"We've already identified the fraud to be a student nurse from the emergency department of PUH, by the name of Alex Li. I've run a quick background check on him, and discovered he is a medical school dropout," the detective explained.

"Where is he now?" the police chief asked. "Call him in for questioning tomorrow and send someone to watch him like our other suspects."

The detective quickly went to do as he was told. But, 20 minutes later, he returned with a worried expression, "Alex Li supposedly left work with one of the nurses. I tried to call both their phones, but both phones are switched off."

"It's 9pm, right now. What if..."

Before the detective finished speaking, the police chief cut in, "What's the name of the nurse he's with."

"Her name is Halia Feng."

The police chief quickly picked up his phone and dialed a number. The phone was off.

"Sh*t!" he yelled.

"Get a warrant, we're going on a manhunt!"

By the time Halia woke up again, she was tied to a chair inside an abandoned warehouse, but her mind was still fuzzy.

"Finally awake, I see," Alex said as he sat down opposite Halia.

"You're very special, you know? I had to mix a special concoction for you. Normally, we'd already be finished having fun and you'd be dead by now, but you see, we still have 2 hours until April and I just can't get myself to break the pattern I've created. So, I had to put you to sleep for a little."

"Now that you're awake. Let's start having some fun."

Alex slowly untied the rope that was tied around Halia. The rope was just to keep her in place, but she didn't actually have any strength to fight back, nor was she conscious enough to do so.

She looked up at him and giggled, "Fun!"

Alex smirked and sat back on his chair. He then turned on some music, "Halia, dance!"

Halia listened to the beat of the music and felt her body naturally moving to the rhythm. It was like she was possessed. The vibration from the bass made her heart beat and the treble sent tingles down her spine.

After a few songs, she started to get hot and sweaty, so she removed her coat.

Alex smirked and continued watching. He liked feeling like he was in control and he liked seeing his victims 'perform' in front of him. It was like he was a king on a throne and they were trying to please him. It was very different to the inferiority he felt as a nurse.

"Halia, keep taking off your clothes if you're hot. It's just me, you don't have to be afraid," he said.

Halia smiled and began to unbutton her shirt...

Alex had done this many times before: six times to be exact. He drugged his victims, made them perform in front of him, and when he was done, he'd make them sit down obediently while he proved to them that he was as skilled as a doctor. That he had the ability to cut open a live human with one clean cut and had the ability to sentence a person to death like a God.

Actually, he never knew he was capable of killing until 3 months ago when he came across his ex-girlfriend at a restaurant. It had already been 6 months since they broke up.

Back when they first met, he had just started his first placement at the hospital and he decided to visit the bar with his colleagues. As soon as he arrived, he realized some girls had specifically come to the bar to meet doctors from PUH because they knew they frequented the place.

When he went to the bathroom, a beautiful young woman approached him and asked, "I saw you sitting at the doctor's table, do you know Dr. Isaac Yan? I've heard a lot about him and always wanted to meet him."

As soon as Alex saw the woman, he believed it was love at first sight. She was the most beautiful woman he had ever seen. Unwilling to give her away to someone else, he ended up lying "I'm Dr. Yan."

Because of this lie, the woman went home with him and they quickly started a relationship. He thought she was truly in love with him, but he quickly realized she was a gold digger that was only with him because she thought he was a doctor.

Of course, it didn't take long before his lie was exposed. As soon as the woman found out, she immediately broke up with him, "You're just a lousy nurse, how dare you pretend to be a doctor. You're nothing but a disgusting liar!"

At that time, he was completely heartbroken, but it wasn't until he ran into her 6 months later at the restaurant, that he was triggered to kill.

That day, she was on a blind date with a businessman and he overheard her talking, "Do you have proof that you're really a manager at a bank? You see, my ex was a lousy liar that pretended to be a doctor when he was actually a nurse. I mean, even if he was on a similar level to a doctor, I would have settled for him, but a nurse is nothing. Nurses are no different to cleaners or maids. I never want to end up with someone like that again!"

Her words made his blood boil.
