Herscherik

Chapter Three: Expeditionary Army, New American Soldiers and the Dark Night's Special Training

The Expeditionary Army left King's Capital for the third day. The Gracis Royal Army continues on its itinerary to the border fort.

There have been several encounters with demons along the way, but in front of 20,000 soldiers, it is difficult to eliminate them without paying any dust. During the day, the army was moving forward as they camped on the streets maintained on horses and carriages.

Hershelik had previously traveled by carriage to the territory of the current Earl of Grimm, but at that time his physical condition was a priority, so it was fairly slow moving speed. However, since this time the aim is to defend the border fort, the speed of movement is not added to the presence of Hershelik, as usual. For that reason, Hershelik is being plunged into hell by himself.

"…… Are you alive?

At the end of Siro's gaze, which is picturesque even if he is just sitting in a rocking seat in the carriage, was Hershelik buried in a pile of cushions placed in the carriage's seat.

There is no appearance or trace of Rin shown at the outing ceremony, he waves one hand at Shilo's words and replies, while still being so bright blue that his soul is likely to pop out. Shiro couldn't decide if the meaning of the hand gesture was okay or no, and lowered his gaze like he was in trouble.

Currently Hershelik and Shiro are among the carriages reserved for the royal family, Khlo is the owner of the carriage, and Oran rides right beside the horse and walks side by side.

"Something that can't be moved in an instant………"

Hershelik spills a weak sound. He has been in a very drunken shape for vehicles since his last life. I truly wonder why my physique didn't change when I was supposed to be reborn and my body was changing.

If I could only get one of the lovely tools of a robot from the blue future of an anime, I'd be cornered enough to truly hope for a door that would connect anywhere.

"Well, there is..."

"Eh, Shilo really!?

Hershelik, who bounced as if the cushion were a spring, stuffs to Shilo. That's the world where magic exists, I'm sure there might be some of those nice tools, and Hershelik's breasts squeal.

Siro said, smiling bitterly at Hershelik's appearance that sparkles his eyes.

"The magic of spatial connectivity... is now the oldest magic lost.

"Spatial connection?

To Hershelik leaning on his neck. Shiro continues to be the teacher's face.

"Yeah, the magic of connecting space and space, place to place, as you put it. You explained before that there are three systems of magic.

Hershelik nods at Shilo's words.

"It was three things: attribute-based magic, divine healing (Sinyu) magic, and manipulative magic, wasn't it?

"Oh, but that's just what we call the magic that humans can handle, and the world has a different magic system that can change its name and handle it depending on race. There are magic that only beasts and subhumans can handle, and there are possibilities that have not yet been discovered, that do not belong to any of them.

Hershelik corrects his residence because Shiloh's magic class has begun. Forgot about the sickness of car sickness I had ever felt and listened to Shiro.

"So. It is said to have existed in the oldest of them, and nowadays magic like a gaga, whose magic principles and magic formula are unknown, is the oldest magic.

"Yes, what is it?

"You don't know that face.

Asked to blame Shiro, Hershelik leaks a bitter smile.

"Because I have no magic, magic itself is strange.

"... well, I guess so.

Shiro is convinced by Hershelik's words. It seemed to me that for Hershelik, who had no magic before him, his very existence, might be like a gaga story.

"Look, attribute-based magic is magic that converts and uses magic, and operation-based magic is magic that manipulates magic itself. But the magic of connecting space to space is the magic of interfering with space with magic, neither converting magic nor manipulating magic itself.

"Yeah?"

Hershelik twists his neck while listening to Shilo and responding. But he didn't care about such Hershelik, and Shiro, with the geek switch, continued his words.

"It's not an object called space, it's magic that interferes with things that are difficult to recognize... just because you could handle interferometric magic tells the story of the magic power and the high level of magic technology of the oldest people.

"Yeah, I don't know, but I found out that Shiro was amazing enough to get excited.

When Hershelik says with the utmost seriousness, Shiro puts a chop in his head.

"…… Violent opposition.

"Know what?

Kicked overboard by Shilo, Hershelik clasps his shoulder while holding his head. But I noticed that there was something else.

"That, Shilo. There was a guy who could communicate with magic tools, but how is that communicating?

A magic tool like a cell phone in a previous life. But performance is closer to a transceiver than a cell phone. Only preset tools can communicate with each other, and the magician who uses them can't even activate them without quite a few arms.

"How is that telling the conversation?

Being able to have a conversation means being connected to the other person. The question arises as to how you are delivering your voice.

Shiro laughed at Hershelik's allegations.

"Oh, that tool was made imitating the oldest legacy. It's interfering with space and delivering voices.

"Oh, so it's interferometric magic? Are you saying that's not impossible?

Shiro nods at Hershelik's words. But he unfortunately leaked a small sigh.

"It drains a lot of magic just by exchanging voices, and the magic formula for setting coordinates, directions, etc., is difficult. How many magic formulas should I build when I have enough spatial connection magic to carry the human body... I would need something of the Demon Square size.

"Yes... too bad.

I wonder how difficult it is for Shiro, a magical genius, to be difficult. Hershelik gives up. But Shiro asked him that.

"Should Hershey have spatial connection magic?

"…… well, I guess I'd be happier to have it. Because I'm easily drunk on vehicles.

Yes, to be honest Hershelik said, Shiro nodded that he had figured it out and took out the paper. And I started running fountain pens.

"Shiro?"

Shiro says to Hershelik, who tilts his neck.

"I was interested. Combined with hobbies and tangible benefits, it's not bad to try.

Yes, Shiro said with a glance as if he were blindfolded.

Hershelik is pleasantly and loosely expressing his inner surprise at Shilo's rare dere.

"Thank you, Shilo.

"Nothing, I told you it was a hobby.

Hershelik moves his gaze and looks out the carriage window, worrying that he will get a little drunk while dyeing his cheeks and continuing his writing. I saw Oran riding right next to me and walking sideways, so I waved, and I noticed him waving back at me with a bitter smile. As Hershelik moved his gaze forward, so did the knights on horseback and horseback rides, the rear riders. Hershelik is currently in the middle of the army.

The Expeditionary Army is the First Army led by General Theodor Seguin on the front and the Second Army led by General Heath Blaze on the rear, across the carriage on which Hershelik is riding.

Nominally, Hershelik, the king's nominee and royal family, is the commander of this army, but in essence Viscount Seguin was the commander and in charge. It's not Heath in the same general position because he's a civilian and a mercenary general.

(Well, this country is still an aristocratic society.

Hershelik remembers the meeting as he fights his wagon sickness back at the same time as he finishes listening to Shilo. Although Jianmae, Hershelik is the most important member of the royal family, so he also participated in repeated meetings before leaving.

The two generals we met there were like opposing stations.

There are two ways to become a general. Achievement without mention of one. The other is Conne. That said, even though Conne needs the strength he deserves for his general position.

A general named Theodore Seguin was a man who became a general in the latter way, in such a noble way. His track record as a general was neither acceptable nor impossible, he was just a general who weighed relatively heavily on his own interests.

For example, a person who does not care about the lives of soldiers or abandons towns or villages for his own sake. However, it can be said that we are fighting over the sacrifice. By the way, General Theodor Seguin is a nobleman in his late thirties, with the rank of Viscount.

Conversely, Heath, a mercenary, was a general who minimized his sacrifice as much as he could, and for that reason was second only to his own. It doesn't make me feel motivated, it doesn't make me feel hectic, but the trust of the soldiers is so thick that there are even soldiers who want to get under him. And it was Oran's assessment that he was good at reading battlefield air and good at judgment.

"Mr. Heath is a victim of my father... because he has a relationship with some of his men.

So bitterly smiling, Oran says.

Says he was the one who always did the end of his father as he stormed. It was his role to put the troops together and direct the operation in place of Roland, who was going to storm. Even Roland, of course, can command soldiers. But he won the presence of Heath, so he said, "Thank you for coming." He left almost all of the operation of the army to him. It is the first time that Heath has been completely unscrupulous. But Heath had the strength to do that unscrupulous thing, which was tragic for him and fortunate for those around him. As well as his ability to judge the situation on the battlefield, he was strong enough to stand beside Roland on the battlefield, and his swinging battle axe beat Roland no less and defeated his enemies.

"I hate him personally, but he's the only successor after my father retires.

I've had Heath do some archery, Oran adds.

Hershelik remembers his first encounter with Heath, wondering if Roland would like to take the lead even though he's a general for now. Him of the same generation as himself in his previous life. His first impression of being a young general, even though he was not a nobleman, was that mercenaries were still stronger than generals.

"Well, one thing, please.

Saying so, he lowered his head slightly. I was surprised that he was stuck with the deputy he was holding back.

While stirring his short chopped blue-gray hair, he listened to his deputy's novel, which consisted of his boss.

The carriage stops. Hershelik took his pocket watch out of his pocket and the time was past four o'clock.

"Looks like that's it for today's trip.

The march is scheduled for two weeks. It will be fortified as planned, especially if the shortage does not occur.

(Well, if it's on schedule.

Hershelik shrugged in his heart.
