That moment they were both confused "You think? Did your water break?" She slowly nodded as she walked closer to him biting on her lip as the pain from contraction began.

He walked her to his car and gently assisted her to take a seat in the back of the car. "I'll get you to the hospital, just try to act normal" He didn't know what to do, he didn't expect the babies to come right away. He was on top speed because her loud screams made him worried. He was afraid that something bad could happen. That's why he had to get to the hospital fast.

Once he got there, he called the obstetrician that he was familiar with. Meilin couldn't stand straight, she couldn't act normal with the feeling of the pounding pain.

"Doctor please..." She was led to the LDR. Bao was waiting outside for her, pacing back and forth with the labor success in his mind. Her screams made him scared, he's never been so worried like he was that moment.

He sat on the floor, leaned on the wall, ran his fingers through his hair, even the people passing by tried to calm him down. He was assured that nothing would happen, even if he had to wait for 6 or 8 hours he shouldn't trouble himself too much.

Why was he caring all of a sudden? it wasn't his child so why was he doing what her boss was supposed to do? He had no business with her but his heart warmed up a little. Exactly what he didn't want.

Meilin was struggling, pushing hard just to get her babies out. "First baby!"

She kept striving to push her second one, she could hear the cry of her daughters but her dazed state limited her expressions.

"Congratulations sir, your children have been born" The cord was cut and the babies were bathed to get the blood off before they were covered and given to their mother to hold.

Meilin cried looking at the two girls, she gave them a kiss on their forehead as she sang a short song.

"C-can I hold them" she looked up to see an eager Bao. She wasn't sure if she should actually let him but it would be wrong if she didn't.

Bao took the first one, the supposed older sister and smiled "what a beautiful baby...I'm so happy for you" Meilin smiled at him "Thank you."

"What are you gonna name them" he asked whilst rocking the sleeping child in his arms.

"I think I'll call them Li na and Li hua"

"Good at giving names I see" Meilin slightly laughed but their talk was interrupted by a doctor coming in.

He came to instruct meilin more on child care. Bao excused himself and made a quick call.

An hour later he walked back into the ward with a suited man by his side. Meilin was so close to sleeping but the unexpected visit kept her awake.

"What's going on Bao?" Meilin asked trying her best to sit up.

"Good evening Mrs Luan, I'm Mo Fan. I'm here to present to you divorce papers. Your husband called for them" Meilin's heart skipped a beat. She looked at the papers then diverted her gaze to Bao. He had his orbs locked on something else.

"It's not too late to change minds. Your husband has signed but it's not official unless you do the same thing. I'll give you two, ten minutes to talk."

He was about to leave when Haru called him back "It's not something to talk about. We've decided this a long time ago" He gave Meilin a pen and passed the papers to her.

She ran through every page before she signed and handed the paper back to the lawyer.

"It's official now. You are no longer married. I will take my leave" He closed the door immediately when he left.

The two were speechless, she was really free from him. Her emotions were mixed, for almost seven years she'd been with him, dated him for two and was married for five. Clearly five years of torture and abuse but it had finally come to an end.

Bao began to Remember the good times with her, memories he'd locked down along with his conscious mind and good nature. The scenario of her pregnancy made him warm up a little and his break up with Ai jin made him realise how wasted his life was.

"I'm sorry" for the first time in five years he apologized to her. It was unbelievable, how could he? This was surely not the Bao she knew.

"I must've hurt you a lot and you're likely to never forgive me but it's fine. I deserve your hatred. The only thing I could do to make it up for you was to sign those papers. Your happiness will be restored and you're about to start a new life. I wish you nothing but a smile from now on Meilin" He waved at her before finally leaving.

Meilin gulped as she closed her eyes to sleep. She was happy, but she also hoped he'd find peace of mind. She didn't know what made him change, but whatever it was, it made him a better person and she was sure his eyes had finally been opened.

*"Will you marry me meilin?"*

*"I love you meilin..."*

*"How many kids do you want to have?"*

*"meilin...meilin...Meilin..."

He remembered everything he had with her. The good times, the bad times. Times that were worse than bad all because he was blinded by his love for another woman. A woman that used him and ended up marrying someone else.

He'd been in a relationship with Ai jin for a while and he'd done everything she wished. Whatever he did to meilin, it was her instructions. he was striving to win her heart but he failed to do so and realized it was all wasted efforts.

He pulled over his car and walked, his hands in his pockets as he crossed a bridge. At some point he stopped, put a cigarette in his mouth and looked at the river. It was dark but the little streetlights around highlighted the environment and he could tell he was the only one around.

He climbed the bridge and stood on the brick layer by the edge. He pulled out a gun and aimed it at his head.

He could only picture the smile on Meilin's face when he dated her in highschool. She was beautiful and she always had been. He could only wish a reverse of his married life and nothing else but it was too late.

"Such a wasted life" He shot himself and his body dropped into the water.
