“Are you treating me like a fool?”

“No, I’m just stating a reasonable opinion. Give this young lady 30 minutes. And if she can’t find that person, then I’ll do whatever you ask. You can even take my life.”

Siebel spoke calmly, without even taking a breath.

Kien leaned over to me.

My body was lifted up as if by a gentle breeze.

Seeing him up close, Kien seemed much more youthful than I had imagined. He wasn’t exactly young, but he seemed closer to my age.

I widened my eyes and looked into Kien’s pupils. When I didn’t avert my gaze, Kien flinched.

“Tell me with your own mouth. What are you?”

I held my breath.

“Which of Countess Bartoli’s jewels are you looking for? What does that have to do with the betrayer?”

Kien’s pupils shook uncontrollably.

“How…?”

“If you don’t tell me, I won’t know. What items the betrayer has. Why did you think the betrayer would show up here? I need to investigate, and for that, I need to know.”

I blurted out in frustration.

“What are you, exactly?”

An ordinary eleven-year-old who sees hints through illusions, I wanted to answer like that.

On top of that, I often don’t know why those illusions appear.

Instead of being honest, I made an excuse.

“It wasn’t hard to notice. You were constantly searching for someone, right? Moreover, the recent major theft incident involved Countess Bartoli. I happened to visit her mansion a few days ago.”

Kien bit his lip.

He set me down on the floor.

Then he pulled down the muffler.

A neat and well-defined nose was revealed. He was a really handsome boy.

“I don’t know what you are or how you found out, but if you’re so curious, I’ll let you know. That’s right. We robbed Countess Bartoli’s house. But one of us betrayed and stole the treasure and disappeared.”

Everything so far has been expected.

“And today, we came here to catch the betrayer, who was supposed to make a trade with the most famous stolen item. He said he would come for the trade at 2 PM, in front of the Crystal Fountain.”

“Then who is the person you’re trading with? You don’t do trades alone, do you?”

Click.

In that moment, I realized the truth.

“Why did Viscount Yukler die? Was he the one making the trade?”

“Who the hell are you?”

Kien raised his voice in disbelief.

“How do you notice everything?”

“Because this young lady is a genius.”

Siebel answered on my behalf.

“You shut up!” Kien growled.

“That’s strange. In a place where the thieves who stole Countess Bartoli’s jewels gathered, there was her younger brother who ended up dead. It’s obvious.”

“Is she really a genius?”

Kien looked all over me.

If you look closely…?

“Yes, you’re right. Your words are correct. The deceased Viscount Yukler betrayed us after taking our money.”

Ah, now I understood the situation.

‘Viscount Yukler betrayed his older sister.’

So, he was an informant.

Although I need more details, Viscount Yukler probably helped the thieves enter the house.

When the treasures went missing, they suspected Viscount Yukler first and killed him.

“As soon as the treasures disappeared, we raided Viscount Yukler’s house first.”

Kien explained briefly.

He discovered a note inside an envelope in Viscount Yukler’s house.

[Trade. The Blue Tears of the Goddess.

Accepting only gold coins.

2 PM.

Alone in front of the most beautiful Crystal Fountain on the day before the opening of the Kingdom Fair]

Kien said the note was made by cutting out newspaper letters.

‘Well thought out, huh?’

Newspaper letters. He’s like a stalker, but he can hide his handwriting.

Anyway, Kien was furious. How dare someone secretly try to make a deal with my informant, that must have been his thought.

That’s why today, Kien gathered all his subordinates and launched a surprise attack on the trade location.

‘It’s two o’clock in the afternoon.’

So they caught everyone near the Crystal Fountain at 2 PM?

‘It must be an ignorant but sure method.’

Kien continued his explanation.

“We understood. He contacted the betrayer and tried to extort money from my sister twice.”
