Chapter 26

“Hello! Senior!”

“Are you here, Top Lord?”

He returned to the horse tower after completing his academy classes.

Jinbo-ra and Jeong Jeong-jin were already at the tower. Jin-Ra was squatting in front of her cauldron, trying out potion recipes, while Jeong Seo-Jin was pounding her keyboard with the books she had brought from her library open.

“Top Lord. There is an important report.”

“Are you serious?”

My eyes turned to the book Jeong Jeong-jin opened.

“This is the history of the continent of Erendel. Did you find out something?”

“Yes. I’m sorry, but could you please come over here for a moment?”

Jeong Seo-jin set up the laptop screen so that I can see it. Wondering if she’d made any progress, she grinned and joined in with any sangaea from the air.

“To start with, the catastrophe that occurred on the continent of Erendel was able to predict in part the future catastrophes that would soon occur on Earth.”

“Oh! You mean that hypothesis is true?”

“I’m not 100% sure, but I’ll give you an example.”

As Jeong Jeong operated the laptop, an expert calculation program with countless numbers and buttons came to mind.

“The number you are looking at is the ‘mana coordinates’ of our tower. Do you know the concept of mana coordinates?”

“Of course you know.”

I was well aware of how the spin guide arrow uses mana coordinates.

The magic used these mana coordinates to specify the location, not Earth’s coordinates.

“Then the story will speed up. Take a look here.”

Jeong Seo-jin reached out to a passage in the book. It was a book containing the events that occurred on the continent of Erendel, and the location of the event was written in coordinates.

“Erendel also used their own coordinates. Let’s change this to mana coordinates using the position calculation formula devised by the ‘Imperial Space Magic Research Society’.

Jeong Seo-jin wrote down the coordinates of the occurrence of the event, ran the calculation program and changed it to a new number.

“Now, let’s convert this changed mana coordinates back to Earth coordinates.”

Change the coordinates of the continent of Erendel to mana coordinates, and change the mana coordinates to earth coordinates.

Jeong Jeong-jin, who was inputting variables with this and that formula program, pressed the ‘OK’ button.

Then a new number came to mind.

“…so how about this?”

Jinbora asked with a blank face.

“Done. Now I’ll show you where these coordinates point.”

Jeong Jeong opened the world map app and entered the coordinates. Then the screen suddenly changed and the location was displayed somewhere on the globe.

“Where is this?”

“This is Melbourne, Australia.”

Melbourne? Melbourne is the area where Baphomet happened.

“Ah, wait! The incident where you entered the coordinates must be…!”

My eyes quickly turned to the history book.

“Yes. The Baphomet incident of the Kingdom of Aland, which was on the continent of Erendel.”

It felt like being hit in the head with a hammer.

The Baphomet Incident in the Kingdom of Aland.

and Baphomet in Melbourne, Australia.

The mana coordinates of the two events were the same.

“…wow. creepy creepy.”

Jinbo-ra stroked her arm.

“Of course, as I said at the beginning, not all catastrophes in Erendel obey this law.”

Jeong Jeong-jin revealed the result that I had been working on before I came.

A window called ‘Mismatch’ appeared in red text. The blue text with ‘Concordance’ was only about 10% of the total.

“There was a limited number of things that could be accurately calculated using only mana coordinates. There must have been some other rule or variable. We will continue to study.”

“…you’re right, you’re intelligent.”

“Of course. This is my genre.”

Jeong Jeong-jin raised the corner of her mouth as if she wanted to hear such a compliment.

“…Heh, the theme of transforming into a muscular man when you take off your shirt.”

Jin-Bra grumbled with her small voice, but she was also in the mood to acknowledge Jeong Seo-Jin’s work this time.

Even if it’s 10% of the total, being able to know even a little bit about the future that lies on Earth was a great advantage.

“I’ve used this coordinate method to predict some catastrophes on Earth. I’m going to show you the most recent one, and the one that has the highest concordance with the elements of the Baphomet event.”

Jeong Seo-jin brought the history book of the continent of Erendel and turned it over to the page where the post-it was attached in advance.

There were illustrations. A spooky tombstone was in the center, and the people around it were clutching their heads with painful faces.

“It’s bloody. What kind of incident is this?”

“This is an undead appearance in the Genos region. It was a large-scale infection case in which people in a quiet rural village turned into zombies.”

I read the contents of the book myself.

As the number of undead increased, and even the vigilantes of the village were wiped out, the Holy See dispatched the Knights of the Cathedral. The knights succeeded in clearing out all the undead in the village, but the undead of this land were constantly rising.

In the end, the Vatican declared the village to be completely closed and designated as a ‘taboo’ area. Even the undead did not come out of the infected area.

“…is this?”

“Did you notice? It’s a phenomenon similar to the ‘zone of control’ on Earth.”

Jeong Seo-jin pointed to the monster illustrated book that had already been opened.

“There are only these two types of monsters that appear.”

-3 rank zombie. An undead type monster. Vulnerable to fire and holy magic.

-3 Rank Insignia Spider. An undead type monster. Vulnerable to fire and holy magic.

“…heh heh heh.”

Unbeknownst to me, a muffled laughter came out.

“Hey, doesn’t this smell like money?”

“Fufu! He is also the top lord.”

As we continued to laugh, Jin-Woo said, ‘Are these guys crazy?’ I was looking at it with a

“What did you two eat wrong? What kind of money do you smell when zombies appear?”

“Think about it. It will be the ‘Land of Taboo’ on the other side, but it could be the Land of Gold on our side.”

Jinbora’s eyes widened in an instant as she put her finger on her lips and thought about it.

“Are you going to turn that road into a hunting ground?”

The control area is an area for monsters that have not become hunting grounds.

To become a hunting ground, several conditions must be met, the types of monsters that appear must be constant, dangerous monsters must not appear, and above all, there must be a profit through by-products or magic stones when hunting.

The land where zombies and corpse spiders appear seems to have sufficient conditions to become a hunting ground in many ways.

And according to the association rules, hunting grounds and dungeons are owned by the first discoverer.

Since we can know the events and places that will happen in the future, the ownership of that land will be recognized faster than anyone else.

“As you all know, there are very few 3rd rank hunting grounds in Korea. If we can occupy and operate it, it will be of great help to the financial situation of the Horse Tower.”

“It could be used as a hunting ground for staff.”

Excited, I slammed the table and got up.

“You did a great job. Seo Jin-ah.”

“Thank you.”

Today, even that unlucky smile can pass with a happy heart. It’s also worth the salary.

“Where?”

Jeong Jeong opened the map program and entered the coordinates.

“Here it is.”

“Paju-ra, Gyeonggi-do… The location is good. What is the date of disaster?”

“It’s tomorrow.”

I didn’t have much free time. I said looking at everyone.

“Everyone, get ready. I’ll go to the site right away tomorrow.”

* * *

So the next afternoon.

We crossed over to Paju, Gyeonggi-do.

“Im here.”

Jeong Seo-jin stopped the car and said.

When I got out of the car and looked around, it was a town with a large reservoir.

I thought the location on the map was completely rural, but it was a decent housing complex with concrete buildings and various amenities.

Of course, most of them were abandoned or empty. Sanggye-dong near Mtap, where I often go to, had a similar atmosphere, but it wasn’t so crowded.

“Oh, it seems that people are still alive?”

Jinbora said while examining the makgeolli barrels rolling on the floor.

“The expiration date is short.”

“There must be people from Harlem.”

With the advent of a natural enemy called a human-eating monster, there has been a major change in the way of life of mankind. There is no problem in densely populated areas such as cities, but the problem of monsters in the outskirts and countryside is serious.

Realistically, it was impossible for the Hunter Association to protect 100% of all territories in Korea. Monsters are constantly appearing all over the country, because it’s impossible to always deploy high-quality manpower like Hunters to protect a few villagers living in the countryside.

Therefore, places that did not meet the proper population were designated as ‘unprotected areas’ by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport. Control zones, or ghost towns like this.

“It’s surprising. If it was a city of this size, I would have been able to get the Hunter support.”

Jeong Jeong-jin looked around the city and said.

“It’s a matter of human psychology.”

i was told

“Even if there is a hunter, it is not possible to prepare for all situations, and everyone is leaving to a safe city for nothing.”

“Then, sir. Why do the people who live here live in such a dangerous place in such a big city?”

I folded my arms at Jinbora’s question.

“Well, isn’t it a matter of eating everything?”(Read more @ wuxiax.com)

Going to a city with good security is also a problem.

It is safe, but the tax is huge as it has to support the hunters. Ordinary people may be complaining about the tax increase, but the problem is the elderly, such as the disabled, orphans, and the elderly.

In a social atmosphere in which all human resources were concentrated on survival, welfare was deteriorating day by day.

Disabled people hide in these unprotected areas because they can’t find a job in the city and can’t afford to pay taxes.

The world is getting harder and harder, and it is becoming a difficult time for the weak to live. This was a trend not only in Korea but also around the world.

“If this place becomes a dungeon, the people of Harlem will have to go to another place.”

“Yeah. It’s unfortunate, but we can’t help it. All we can do is reduce the casualties as much as possible.”

Saying that, I turned my gaze to Jeong Seo-jin.

“time is?”

“Now we have about ten minutes left.”

“Let’s hurry.”

According to the Great Library’s book, the case begins with the well being turned into an infection-causing poison.

As if to reproduce it as it is, the color of the small reservoir next to the city became cloudy. Well, these days, drinking this as it is, there is no case of getting infected.

I called the Hunter Association and reported the discovery of the dungeon. First, I presented my name and affiliation, and talked about the signs. And even the story of finding and killing monsters.

The association staff sounded a little unsure, but when we sent materials such as photos of the reservoir, they believed it in the end.

-If even monsters appeared, it would be a big deal. Okay. We will send a staff member to check the situation.

“How long does it take?”

– The personnel dispatched to Cheorwon will go to the reporting area as soon as they finish their work in progress.

Damn it.

It will take a long time.

“Okay. Yes, yes. Thank you.”

I turned off the phone and looked at Jinbora, who was looking at me with a reclining eye.

“How are you? How is it?”

“Report is officially registered. Of course, we are the first.”

“Hurray!”

She jumped and screamed of her joy.

“Then are we going to get rich now?”

“It’s still too early to fire the cannon. Evacuate people, and clear the dungeon before other players arrive.”

“I know, I know. Let’s Go!”

I turned my head and looked at the gloomy gray city.

Do people really live in a place like this?
