“It’s hot…”

The sun was shining brightly and the temperature was high day and night.

I was currently working as a model in the company’s photo studio.

The photographer was Sumire, who had become my personal secretary.

“We don’t have any employees coming into the office these days, and we’re trying to save electricity to cut costs. We’ve just turned on the air conditioning, so it should be cooler soon.”

“Thank you. How’s it coming along?”

“It’s pretty good. This camisole has a pretty flower pattern, but it’s also very flattering because it’s transparent around the belly. If you put it on the website, it will sell.”

“What’s underneath?”

“It looks like ordinary hot trousers, but it’s made of a cool material, so I think it’ll be popular in summer. I’d like to have one myself.”

“I see. I hope it sells.”

The day I met Saki’s grandparents, Daiki and Hinata, they apologised profusely.

Apparently, Mika was taken in as a foster child to replace Itsuki, who had refused to take over as president at a young age.

However, it seemed that she was unable to endure so much of the gifted education and was on the verge of a mental breakdown.

And Itsuki, who was worried about this, sent Mika away from her parents’ house.

At first, Daiki was upset that Mika would leave without permission, but as time went on, he realized that he had put too much pressure on her and regretted it.

And I they very apologetic.

But now they were good grandparents and were spoiling Saki.

“The shoot is over.”

“Good night, Violet.”

“Good work.”

“Well, I’m going home. I’m going to buy these clothes, so I can wear them as I go, okay?”

“Yes. Yes, you can. Are you picking me up?”

“Yes.”

“You really cares about Saki, don’t you? You even made some changes in the company.”

“Haha.”

“But the employees also thanked you for helping them understand the value of their wives and husbands. Sales are going well, and the new president is very popular.”

“Well, I hope so. Bye, Violet.”

“Have a good day.”

(I said I’d be able to pick her up at noon, but it’s way past that time.)

I left the office and took a taxi to Saki’s nursery school.

When I opened the gate and went inside, Chinatsu came running up to me.

“Mika, what are you wearing? That’s too much for your parents!”

“I’m sorry. I had a bit of a shoot today.”

“New clothes? You should at least wear a shirt or something.”

“I can’t get the buttons to close.”

“Gosh, why do I have to feel so defeated with mine…”

“Where’s Saki?”

“She’s over there playing with Keita.”

When I looked in the direction Chinatsu pointed, I saw Saki and a boy laughing, not on the swing, but throwing a ball in that direction.

(Who’s that guy? Hey, you little brat, stay away from my daughter!)

“Mika, what a face you have. Don’t be so possessive or Saki will hate you.”

“Ugh…”

“That’s right. It was a long time ago when you were a man, so you have to be a good mum.”

“Yuki, you don’t have children, so don’t come into the school without permission. I’ll report you.”

“Forgive me if I say I’ve come with Mika to pick up Saki.”

“Don’t hug me, it’s hot. You black gal!”

In the end, Yuki found out that I wasn’t the real Mika and I had to explain from scratch.

Chinatsu had always felt uncomfortable because she couldn’t understand what we were talking about.

So, when I told her that I used to be a man, she accepted it quite easily.

By the way, Chinatsu was the daughter of a banker and Yuki was the daughter of a politician.

Daiki told me that he and Mika had met each other when they were young.

Well, when I told her about it, she didn’t remember either Chinatsu or Yuki.

“Hey, let’s go to the beach.”

“Oh, that’s nice.”

“Well, Saki’s here, so maybe we can go in the water?”

“And then the river and the mountains.”

Yuki had been inviting us to play with her since she broke up with Satoshi.

I met him once, and he was very flirtatious, even though he had a fresh appearance like a shoujo manga’s character.

It was really weird when Satoshi started hitting on me near Nerima station, but I had a good memory of Yuki, who witnessed the scene nearby, running over and slapping him.

Well, that was the reason for the breakup…

The only thing she couldn’t forgive was that he had tried to touch Yuki’s best friend Mika, even though they were supposed to have known each other for a long time.

“Saki, I’m coming home.”

“Ma! Hold me!”

“Come on.”

When I called her, Saki came up to me and I held her in my arms.

“Saki, is there anything you want?”

“Yes? Something I want?”

“Can I be selfish?”

“No, it’s all right. I’ll buy it for you with the money I worked for. What do you want?”

“Yes, bear!”

“Huh? Bear?”

“The big one.”

I didn’t want to buy a real bear, because it would be difficult and dangerous to keep a big one.

As I was thinking about this, Chinatsu told me that she meant a toy.

Apparently, she didn’t want a small stuffed bear, but something big enough to hold.

“All right. Okay.”

“Yay!”

“Saki, what do you want for lunch?”

“Omuraichu!”

“Omelette.”

“I’ll eat it and I’ll swing! (I’ll go on the swing after I eat.)”

“Right, we’ll go to the park and ride together.”

I put Saki down on the ground and held her hand.

“Where is our home?”

“Grandma and Grandpa have built a new one. They even have a pink room.”

“Pink.”

“We’re going to live in that house from today.”

“Yes!”

“Let’s go home.”

“Ai!”
