Like the way a humming bird fly's backward's, we to must move backward's. Or more accurately, we go back in time, more accurately a few day's just after the summer vacation's at Hogwart's had commenced.....

In large hall, filled lavish furniture that screamed of luxury, table's and cupboard's made of the finest of wood, embroided in gold, as the wall's were decorated with painting's that seemed surreal due to their beauty and also that fact that they seemed to...move! Though sadly, most of this extraordinary beauty was hidden due to darkness that had covered the hall like a veil, with the only form of light coming from the floating candles. Amidst the darkness, hidden in it's depth's, we come across two figure's conversing softly, it was quite strange as despite them being the only one's present in the dark hall, their hushed voices didn't echo out loud, only remaining between the two figures as they conversed. It was strange, it was almost like magic.

As the light from the flames of candles fell one of the figure's,....

"The dark lord has made his plan's...we must prepare his rise immediately",said a rather handsome, tall blond haired man in his early forties, who was dressed elegantly as held a demeanor akin to that of a noble, not only due to the confidence he held as he sat straight straight like a spear, in a rather expressive looking chair, but also due to the pompous attitude that seemed to almost be oozing of, of him. "Are sure Lucius?", asked the second figure, who seemed to be in his mid forties and was also rather handsome with his short black hair, and his rather broad and large figure, that could only belong to someone who was a warrior. [OC-CHARACTER]

"Yes Rudolf, the dark lord is planning on resurrecting through the potter boy during the upcoming Triwizard tournament". "Really...how?", asked a Rudolf as he gasped in shock and his blue eye's seem to gleam in a maniacal fashion, as he shook in excitement. "That is classified and cannot be told anyone other than the one who will do ritual. The preparation's have already been completed and we've even managed to trick Dumbledore into accepting one of our own into his school.... When we strike, the old fool won't know what hit him", said Lucius arrogantly as a rather malicious and smug smile graced his face. Rudolf who was listening, now had a vicious look on his face, that would no doubt haunt even the bravest of men.

These were two figure's were lieutenant's of Voldemort, member's of his inner circle, Lucius Malfoy and Rudolf Hamdell [OC PURE BLOOD FAMILY], some of the remaining few death eater leader's that remained of his inner circle, if they weren't either killed or sentenced to life in Azkaban. The two men continued their discussion for hour's, and ended only when Rudolf floo-ed out.

Standing up Lucius's demeanor suddenly seemed to have changed, his once proud and arrogant aura seemed to vanished, and seemed to have been replaced by a man who looked like he grown older by a hundred year's, filled with nothing but regret and worry. Releasing a "sigh", one that spoke of his immense worry and exhaustion, he slowly made his way out of the hall, as he proceeded to make his private office. His slow pace seemed as though he was desperately trying too avoid going there, trying to prevent himself from what he was doing and the thing he'd be unleashing in the near future. The monster that he would help unleash upon the world and cause calamity.

Making his way toward's a rather large entrance decorated in gold with then the Malfoy symbol, he proceeded to open the door and, a dark, menacing and depressive aura seemed to pour out. Walking in side we see a rather large library filled with book's containing all manner of knowledge though most of it seemed to be of the Dark kind. Making his way toward's his table and sitting down on his chair, Lucius once again seemed to release a "sigh" as he stared at the blank piece of paper in front of him, wondering if what he was doing was sane? Whether it wasn't a mistake? Shaking his head to rid himself of the second thought's he'd been having for many year's now, which seemed to come more often these past month's, he proceeded to write some letter's with intense concentration, talking in detail about the procedure's for Voldermort's rise during the tournament, when a knock on the door drew him out of his stupor, he said "Enter", in a rather powerful and assertive manner.

As the door creaked open, we see a young boy, perhaps no older fourteen, with short blond hair and crystal blue eye's with a lean figure made his way toward's Lucius. The boy was clearly a looker and seemed to be an exact copy of Lucius, only much younger, it was Draco Malfoy. His son. As the young boy tried to make his way toward's his father somewhat confidently, as he tried to straighten his back and look at his father, we see Draco's eye's gaze upon him with immense respect and love, though there also seemed to be small amount of fear present. Mean whilst, Lucius too looked at his son, giving him all of his attention, a small barely noticeable simile was present on his face whilst his eye's held immense love and care as he gazed upon his son. Though that soon went away as he once again stared at his son, staring straight through him, as young Draco seemingly shrunk under his gaze.

"So Draco....how is school?", asked Lucius as he stared into his son. Trying to remain strong under his father's stare, Draco replied, "It's fine as always, my grades are exceptional, especially in potion's. Godfather was especially pleased. Nothing major happened other than the Hippogriff incident and the fact that the werewolf got sacked". Lucius face turned sour at the mention of word Hippogriff though he managed to quickly hide it as he once again questioned his son, "How's your influence in Slytherin?". Draco seemed to hinder a bit as he slightly slumped his shoulder's whilst his eye's suddenly seemed to gain a small amount of fear, before he prepared to answer, all whilst Lucius seemed curious at his son's sudden strange behavior. "I have close to a quarter of the house under my influence thank's to the family name, though that's only the the one's in my batch, it's even fewer in the other grades. The rest of the batch along with many if not the entire house seem's to be under Orion, who they have now named him as the King of Slytherin".

Lucius's eye's widened and he went silent as he went over the new bit's of information that Draco mentioned. Because for one, to be named the "King" in Slytherin the wizard who became "King" needed to be exceptional, in every sense of the word. And as much as he hated to admit it, Lucius knew that Orion would perhaps be the greatest "King" Slytherin ever had, not only due to his immense knowledge and magical strength that had become famous not only in Hogwart's but also in the magical community due to the fact that Orion's duel's with the senior year's whilst he was merely in his second and third year's had become quite famous. And considering the fact that during many of the dueling lesson's held in Hogwart's, he'd often win against his senior's who were 2 to 3 year's ahead of him. His prodigious talent was recognized quickly, along with the rise in fame of Hadrian, a person who was thought to be related to Orion due to the fact that they shared the name "Dracary's", the house that had recently become infamous throughout the magical community these past few year's.

Furthermore, the fact that Orion had been named the "King of Slytherin", slightly unsettled him due to implication's this meant. As when one was named "King", they essentially was a King, the rest of the house would follow his view's. It was similar to the relationship between a herd of sheep and a Shepard, in the sense that the house would greatly be influenced by the King's view's, like how a Shepard would manage a herd of sheep.

And what unsettled Lucius was the fact that he knew close to nothing about Orion or his family, he didn't even know whether they were with the light or the dark or perhaps even in the grey. And as recalled of the meeting he had with the young boy when he meet him in the book store in Diagon alley, shiver's went down his spine as he recalled of the intense blood-l.u.s.t the young child had. He was curious and wanted to know more of the family as he was never able to gain any information other than the fact that they were certainly powerful and wealthy. It was as one would say.....what you must fear the most is the unknown.

He along with the rest of the magical community knew very few thing's of the house of Dracarys, such as the fact that the only other member other than Orion was Hadrian. A very powerful person, who was a hit wizard, who had managed to haunt down many powerful wizard's, even one of Voldermort's lieutenant's. And as much it displeased him by remaining in the dark, he did want to know more about the family and create an alliance with them, to bring them to their side just so that he could please his dark lord and by pleasing his lord, he'd keep his family safe.

[SAY WHAT? LUCIUS A FAMILY MAN??? BLASPHEMY!!!.....YEP BS---OC LUCIUS]

Lucius was drawn out of his mussing from a cough from his son, who slowly continued once gave him his attention. Looking at him, he asked, "Tell me more about Orion, also did you mend your relationship?", Draco visibly flinched at the mention of Orion's name and Lucius who saw this now had a frown present on his face, though he couldn't blame his son. The red-head was certainly terrifying.

Taking a deep breath Draco softy said as he looked down at his feet, "Well other than the fact that he is a genius, he his quite friendly",..Lucius eyebrow's raised as his son mentioned this and allowed Draco to continue...." He help's many of his peer's not only from his own house but also the other's, allowing him to become well like by almost everyone, even the Griffindor's. Many respect him and thank's to his friendless, the Slytherin's along with the other houses seem to have somewhat stopped their hate filled relationship, and whilst there are people that don't like this, they tend to be quiet as many have begun to appreciate the fact that they are able to form bond's and alliances with the people in other houses.

He is well respected and loved throughout the school for his friendliness and intelligence and especially his strength, as he is able to contend with the senior's and win with ease. However, despite his friendliness, he usually tend's to spend most of his time with Daphne Greengrass, Theodore Nott and Tracy Davis, otherwise he'd just spend his time in his room or with Professor Snape".

Taking a deep breath, Draco said rather un-confidently whilst he looked at his feet as he tried to remain stoic, "Our relationship is one of acquaintances". Though it seem's that his father didn't buy this though other than sending a somewhat disappointed look at his soon he didn't say anything

However, Lucius was certainly surprised as by the fact that Orion had managed to mend the relationship between Slytherin and the rest of the house's as this was something that had not happened in a century, especially the recent decades due to many believing that the house of Slytherin was evil, due to the fact that many of Grindlewalt and Voldermort's follower's were from Slytherin and the fact that pure-blood's were concentrated the most here also didn't help.

Though Lucius did manage to regain his composure as he remembered that before the two great war's which were initiated by the two dark lord's, Slytherin actually had a friendly relationship with the other houses. It was the ideologies of the dark lord's that made the pure blood's into bigot's, influencing them, not that they weren't before, there certainly were but those that believed in supremacy were somewhat of a minority and many tended to appreciate talent over heritage, preferring to ignore the racist thought's and focus more the managing their world. And whilst there was bigotry, it wasn't to the point where they would straight out reject those who weren't pure-blood's and lynch them. You to understand that the wizarding community was like muggles, tending to isolate the different. Just like slavery had in the muggle world, though unlike in the muggle world the only difference was that instead of the color of skin, it was the purity of blood in the wizarding world.

Most pure-blood's would either ignore this, some would be arrogant with muggle-born's and half-blood's, trying to gloat at them with their wealth and power. And very few would actually be extremely racist and kick out those that weren't pure blood's. the wizarding community was actually untied and "fair" toward's human's but unfair to those such as half-blood's and magical creature. And the dark lord's, managed to use the hidden fear in pure blood wizard's due to their decrease in population and the rise in that of Half-blood's and mud-blood's and used this for their influence and control the pure-blood's

Getting back, what shocked Lucius the most was that his son's godfather also seem's to be close to him due to Orion spending time with him, he wasn't informed of this and needed to learn more of this. And whilst Lucius was somewhat surprised at the fact that the houses were bonding, he didn't like the fact that half-blood's and mud-blood's were also there.

He did seem interested in Daphne's relationship with Orion as he had asked him this, and to which Draco replied, "Well they both seem especially close and neither seem's to have any interaction's with the opposite s.e.x other than each other or their friend's. This is mostly due to Orion declining anyone's advances and Daphne, well due to her coldness. And though many aren't sure, people suspect that they are in a relationship, it's just that they don't have any proof".

And as Draco had mentioned this, Lucius seemed to be thinking when he smirked slightly. He was pretty much sure that Orion and Daphne were in a relationship or were planning on forming one as according to what he gathered form Draco. He was pretty interested now seeing that there was a rumor present, saying that the Greengrass's were going to betroth their daughter to a noble house from Russia, he was pretty much sure that Orion's family or more accurately Orion would cause them to intervene and announce their presence to the world and also allow Daphne and Orion to continue their relationship. And if this did happen, he'd be able to learn more of Orion's family and ally with them

Looking at his son he said strictly, "Try to have an alliance with Orion...his family may help in the future". Staring at his son, who seemed to be avoiding his gaze he continued, "Oh....speaking of relationship's, do you have any? I was thinking of holding a betrothal contract for you with the Pansy Parkinson ", Lucius was both surprised and amused at the sight of his son shivering and going pale when he mentioned this. Taking in deep breath's, as he tried to calm himself Draco said, "Father I'll have you know that I wouldn't dream of marrying Pansy...*and he said Pansy with no small amount of disgust which surprised Draco*..she is more of a sister or a friend, and despite what she feel's toward's me, I really am not interested in her. Moreover, the way she suck's up to me no matter what I do is kind of annoying". Lucius was surprised that his son seemed to somewhat despise his childhood friend, though he could agree with him, however it seem's as though there was more to it, and it wasn't as simple as it seemed.

Looking at Draco, Lucius asked him with a smirk, "It seem's as though there's someone who you are interested in?", and boy was he surprised to see a the small blush that came on his son's face. Thought it seemed that his son was ignoring this and seemed thinking about a something, or more accurately, thinking of a certain junior from Ravenclaw that he had come closer to throughout the past two year's, esspecially these past couple of month's. An image of beautiful girl with long raven black hair and crystal blue eyes's that gleamed at everything with intelligence and wonder came his mind. The conversation's he had with her, from each other's live's to school subjects and even politic's came to mind, how she had come to visit him as he spent a week as he got injured by the Hippogriff.

He recalled how he might've developed somewhat of crush for his junior, no he was sure of it, considering the fact that he had been somewhat lesser of a pompous asshole compared to his previous self. And how he had tried to stop his racism toward's mud-blood's and half-blood's all because she had asked him to, and whilst he certainly didn't completely change his mentality, he slowly found himself agreeing with her for her sake. And he had surprisingly come see that racism was actually pretty stupid, though it did annoy him as he was going against his own beliefs that had been hammered into him for nearly fourteen year's.

It certainly surprised him by how he had begun to change in two short year's of knowing her and the fact that he was willing to change himself all for the sake of his crush, and he was determined to have her and make her happy. And also considering that her sister was the Ice Queen and her possible Brother in law was the King of Slytherin, a monster in every sense of the word, he needed to make sure that he'd never make her cry, otherwise he could only imagine the hell that would rain down him. Hell he still remembered the scene as Orion stared at him and threatened him for insulting him during his second year. He chuckled a bit inside as he was sure that he had developed a crush and may have begun to fall in love with a certain Astoria Greengrass.

Looking back at his father, he said great seriousness and a small happy smile on his face, "There is someone I am interested in, though I will try to woo her by my self". The Malfoy Patriarch was certainly surprised by his son's comment and attitude and was certainly interested in the witch that may have stolen his son's heart, though he didn't say anything other than living Draco a small nod of approval.

Suddenly Draco began to stare at his father and looked as though he was having an internal struggle, and it was something pretty serious considering how hard Draco stared at his father. This was noticed by Lucius who looked like he didn't know what to do regarding his son's strange behavior but he was curious as to what his son was contemplating over, so he waited to listen to his son.

After staring at his father for sometime, Draco looked at him and said something he never thought he'd say in his life, and it seemed as though Lucius too wasn't expecting such a statement considering the surprised look on his face, "Father do you think it's wise for us to flow the Dark Lord?". Lucius stared at his son, surprised at what he asked before he regained his stupor and asked his son rather coolly and saw his son slightly filch at his tone, "Why do we follow the Dark Lord Draco?". Not letting his son answer he answered himself, "It's because we believe in his ideology that only pure-blood's should learn of magic, and it's true. We need to stop associating ourselves with filthy half-blood's and other lower lifeforms. We must stop hiding ourselves from the muggles and show them who the true leader's over, and that it is not us who should fear them but rather us".

[AUTHOR INFO DUMP:Witch trail's scare the shit out of the magical community apparently, and along with the enormous population difference so wizard's tend to stay hidden]

Listening to his father paraphrase a speech similar Voldermort, Draco previously would've agreed with his father completely but now he realized how naive, how stupid he was. The pure-blood's were narrow minded and he had now confirmed this not only looking at himself but also the man he adored the most in the world, his father. Looking at his father his took a deep breath and spoke back against him, for the first time in his life.

"Father it's foolish, think about it! As much as I hate this, I've realized that we need to integrate with

muggle-born''s and half-blood's. We need them to not only increase our population but also due to the fact that there are many those with talent. We need to seek talent than blood purity for us to survive rather than committing mass genocide. I mean look at the death eater's, they are just mass murder's and rapist's killing mindlessly, decreasing our already small population through their stupid war's. Tell me how this is for the betterment of our society? Tell me how following a blind racist is good? Tell me?", by the end Draco was practically shouting at his father.

Lucius was surprised by what his son said, and how he had just contradicted him, granted he was impressed by his son standing up to him and the valid point's he had made, Draco knew nothing of the consequences that would happen should he turn against the monster, he knew nothing of the horror he'd unleash on his son and wife, should he betray that monster. He had gone in to deep, there were no second chances. It now didn't matter about the world, as now the only thing that mattered was the survival of his family, his beloved wife and precious son. That was all that mattered. Their survival. And he'd go through hell for them.

Swallowing the lump that was forming in his throat and covering up his emotion's, he said very coldly, "Draco..be quiet". Unfortunately it seemed that unlike the previous time's, his son had now grown a pair of ball's large enough to talk back to his father despite how scared he was, as Draco said firmly, "See..See..look, I know that you follow that fool not out of respect but fear. That man is just a maniac that managed to scare people into flowing him". Lucius was now visibly shaking as he glared at Draco though it seemed that Draco ignored this as he continued, " I know you fear him father...The man you follow, that you seem to worship so dearly....Voldermort is nothing but a FOOL!".

That seemed to have done it as Lucius released his magic at the mention of Voldermort, creating a strong pressure around the room as he glared at his son in anger, though hidden deep within that glare was immense fear, worry, regret and a plethora of emotions. Lucius spoke rather coolly and harshly as he said,"DRACO.....BE QUIET...LEAVE.....LEAVE NOW...I BELIEVE THAT YOU ARE TOO TIRED RIGHT NOW..., SO GO TO SLEEP BOY!,... NOW!". Draco was barely able to see as he walked out of the room in tear's, giving his father a second glance as he saw him stare right back at him in fury.

He pushed aside his mother who had just come into the office due to all the commotion and ignored her as he ran to his room, saddened by the fact that it was apparently true that the once proud Malfoy family had fallen, saddened by the fact that the once proud Lord Malfoy had fallen, and to mere servant at that. His hero had fallen.
