I Am Undying

Rin and Dana went together to the rooftop in silent. Rin was still surprised that Dana called him first when she blatantly ignored him before. Not that it was a bad thing but Rin was caught off guard and didn't know whwt to do or what to say since he didn't even know what's happening in the first place!

The sound of waves of students coming out of their own classrooms: their hundreds of footsteps marching with each of their own paces in the hallways or in the stairs, their laughter and their chatter filled the school but over time, it decreased.

Rim couldn't break the ice, though it's not like he said anything in the first place, it did not become too awkward. They were always feeling comfortable around each other that the ice between them seemed very weak.

After climbing up six stairs, Rin opened the rusty big metal door to the rooftop easily. As it opened and the slit of light became wider, the wind blew coldly since the end of the year was nearing.

They stepped out to the rooftop and they've been greeted by the cloudless blue sky and the sun heating up the ceramic floor.

They then retreated back without saying anything to each other.

When Rin was about to close the metal door, he suggested with a smile, "Why don't we eat here in the stairs and I'll open this up a bit so it'll not be dark and hot?"

Dana sat in the middle on the highest step of the stair. Rin then followed and sat on her right.

Dan couldn't say any word and just decided to open up her lunchbox.

However, Rin forgot to create his own since his mind early in the morning wasn't in its best. Good thing though, he have money but he's in the predicament whether he would leave Dana for a while or not. it's not like Dana would mind but he felt that it'll make things more awkward but actually, he never thought that it was more awkward when one was eating and the other was not.

Dana only realized that Rin haven't brought anything and asked, "Where's yours?"

"Haha, I think I left it at home.", Rin awkwardly laughed while scratching his head.

Dana subconsciously pushed her own lunch to Rin, "Eh? Umm...", she blushed and got fl.u.s.tered and turned her head down, "Want to have some..?", she whispered.

"Ah no, it's fine. It's my fault that I forgot mine in the first place.", Rin waved his hand.

"But you would get hungry..", Dana looked at Rin in the eyes.

From Rin's perspective, this is one of Dana's power: The Puppy Eyes! It is best known that this is not some ordinary puppy eyes. No! It's The Puppy Eyes! You couldn't compare it to others since The Puppy Eyes are done with pure innocence and not done intentionally. To further max this power, Dana's adorable face can make every man protect her! However, this is where the gap increases since Dana is not only cute outside but she is as cute in the inside! Look at her getting worried for Rin that may get hungry! Rin's heart palpitated and was screaming, "Want to cuddle her!!!"

In this moment, Rin couldn't fight back and lose happily.

"Okay", Rin then took it but after staring it for a second, he asked, "But there is only one spoon and one fork?"

"…"

The atmosphere then got very awkward.

"….."

"….."

'What to do? What to do? I'm the one who offered my lunch… what to say?!', Dana's mind was panicking and just stared at Rin's eyes for several seconds, "Ah! We can just use it alternately!", she suddenly pointed out.

"Alternately??", it was a moment before Rin imagined and his face then turned reddish.

"Huh?", Dana was stunned by her own words. In her mind, she was screaming, 'Arrghh!!! Alternately!? Seriously?!... But it's not that bad of an idea…', she instinctively covered her face.

Seeing that Dana didn't mean it, Rin took the initiative to say, "Why don't you eat the first ha-…", he then saw Dana unleashing her power when she peeked through her fingers, "Ah", it made Rin's words stop.

"Okay… then I'll go first…", Rin with a red face slowly opened Dana's lunch box.

'Do I looked like that I want that to happen that badly?', Dana wanted to look at a mirror to look at her own expression and had the urge to just throw herself out to the window or just disappear completely.

When Rin opened the lunch box completely, he saw a neatly arranged dish. Hot rice and on the rice were nuggets and sausages, there were even some slices of pork. Just from the smell and looks, you could tell that it will make one satisfied enough.

Beside Rin, which he didn't notice, Dana was shocked on the contents of her lunch.

'Mom! Why now?! Why is today's lunch only filled with meat?! It doesn't look femininely!!'

If Dana's mom heard that, she would respond, "But you're getting thinner and losing weight, aren't you?", it was of care and love.

'Mom, wrong timing… but thanks…', Dana gave up. She already knew her mother's response.

While Dana was panicking inside her head, Rin already took his bit and gulped it.

"Did your mother made this?"

Dana nodded while embarrassed.

"It was very tasty and delicious. You could tell that she cared for you very much.", Rin slowly said with a bit of a lonely and melancholic tone, he looked at Dana with his eyes filled with deep longing and regret, "Take good care of her, okay?", he unknowingly c.a.r.e.s.sed Dana's head.

Dana felt it was out of nowhere but she couldn't say anything back since she felt Rin was feeling very lonely and sad right now.

After a moment, Rin snapped back to his senses, "Ah!", he immediately pulled his hand from Dana's head, "Sorry.."

"… It's alright…", she leaned forward and placed her hands in front, "It's my turn now.", she closed her eyes and opened her mouth.
