I Am Undying

Chapter 67 - The View of an [Outsider]

Rin's face paled a bit when he tried to heal his own injury. It is good that just his own instinct guarded up his stomach or he might've thrown some blood already.

The teen whose scarf was around his face, covering half of it laughed and said, "I really thought that you can find the True Fist..", he removed his hand on his stomach and the pained expression disappeared on his face and began to looked confident, "..Not! I have no hope that you can find the counter one of my Fist Illusions..", he then laughed loudly as if he had won.

Rin stared in wonder and thought, 'This guy must've been going through some things right now. Am I unfortunate that I have to face his frustrations right now?', although he wasn't sure, Rin wouldn't be surprised if this guy had been down in life.

People have their own life. Life was a very complicated thing with infinite variables that may change by just a single incident. One shouldn't be surprised if a person does something unexpected. Even if there is common sense and logic, life is life and you wouldn't know what is going to happen next. It is safe to say that there is not one person who can understand each and every other person and deal with it.

"You can't even do that and you're being recognized?!", the teen's complexion and tone rapidly changed, it suddenly became serious.

From that sentence, Rin immediately knew the gist of what this guy had on his mind.

"Shut up! Just fight, don't push your insecurity and frustration to other people. Why don't you just tell everything instead of getting other people involved in the wrong way.", Rin said so casually. He just blabbered it on a whim. He thought nobody would take it seriously since they are in a middle of a fight and he just said that for the sake of reply. He himself knew that his words were baseless and shouldn't be taken seriously. Nobody was involve and it's not like his opponent was really pushing his insecurities and frustration to anyone.

However, nobody expected that this triggered something inside this guy.

His face went pale and his head was in chaos. He felt like he was about to explode what he kept to himself for all this years. He just bared with it since he had no one to talk to. Everyone he know was his enemy and everyone who he don't know was a stranger. He had nobody to talk to even if he wanted to. Nobody could relate to him because nobody knew his situation, what he had gone through.

His eyes became a bit watery. Everyone saw him as obnoxious since they couldn't relate to him. In his kind, Rin was the first to tell him to speak up even if he was not the first to realize that the teen was going through something. In everyone's eyes, he is a stranger. A person who have no importance to anyone's life.

A person with no value.

He even walked up inside the cage and felt like he was a random mob. Nobody even know his name at this point but there is one guy who's the crowd was cheering and shouting his name in unison.

Rin stood in confusion since his opponent was silent for long, "Hey..", he tried to bring this teen back to his senses, "Is anyone there? If there isn't, then I'm just going to take the victory.", he stepped a bit closer but didn't lower his guard.

"Hey, my name is Hematin, Hematin Londr.", tears came out of Hematin's eyes as he wept it.

The crowd's expression changed when they heard his name.

'What now?', Rin felt something clicked inside this guy's…. Hematin's head for some reason, 'Are we going to be buddy-buddy now?', he didn't know how to respond but since his opponent introduced himself, even if in a weird timing, he became obligated to do it too.

"Mine's Rin, Rin Gotha."

Fast forward…

Rin's eyes which was glowing gold faded back to its original black.

He was still clutching the neck of a dead man he just killed. His face darkened under the shadow of the tens of stage lights from above.

"You shouldn't have said that.", Rin's voice have no tinge of regret but only of disdain and coldness. While his eyes unclosing, staring at the man's expression before he died.

Back to the present...

Rin was silent, he knew he didn't have to wait for Hematin to calm down but he still did.

The crowd was silent, unable to comprehend what was happening. The two was fighting aggressively with each other and in the next moment they seemed to be having a heart to heart talk in the next few seconds? What's with that? It felt weird and out of place but nobody was uncomfortable but felt this was wholesome. At least the guy seemed to have his reasons and needed to calm down for a bit. He was shouting and yelling before but now, he was weeping. However, not everyone was understanding like the others. They came here to watch a fight or hope to see a perfect match for them. They don't want to see a heartwarming scene and the situation seemed to be going in that direction.

With the lead of a thick-faced person, "Fight! Get on with it!", and those who have the same mind followed, "Fight!", until they all shouted in unison while stamping their feet, "Fight! Fight! Fight!"

Rin wasn't surprised by this but was still disappointed although he didn't have that much hope either. He too wasn't as understanding as the others. He has his own life and others that are not important in his life didn't deserve much of his understanding.

He sighed and took a fighting stance to make the audience quiet but they already started and wanted to finish it with enough heat.

"Fight! Fight! Fight!", even those who thought otherwise and became understanding just shook their heads and joined the unison.

This may sound inhumane but it actually isn't. All of this had nothing to do with them. It is not like they have to weep for every human that dies or concern themselves with every people that has a problem. Why should they care? They have their life. Hematin hasn't said a word that made others sympathize with him so why would anyone?

Hematin was conscious and aware of this. He has always been a person in the third view, an outsider. So he just bared with it and took a fighting stance too. His eyes became serious.

"I'm going to be serious from now on.", he determinedly said. He climbed un into the cage just because he felt irritated and wanted to place this kid in his place because he wanted other people to experience what he had gone through or the other way around, he didn't want other people to accomplish what he can not get.

He will no longer fight just because of this reason but now , he will fight just because! Reason was really not needed from the start. Everyone was stranger to each other but even if they are they being connected, an example was already being laid out. He could hear it.

There is no need for sympathy and understanding right now. They just need to do what they are needed to. He will fight just to end this already!

Hematin kicked the ground and his body pierced through the air. Not long after, he was in front if Rin, catching Rin surprised again by his speed.

Rin quickly used his Natural Energy and closed his eyes to retreat a few steps. His body went a meter behind but not because he successfully retreated but something hit him.

Hematin clutched his fist and said with confidence, "This is another technique of my Illusion Fists Series, Faded Fists! Even if you don't have a chance in front of my Fist Clones , I will not hesitate to use this!", he exclaimed proudly as if it has a deeper meaning.

"Faded Fists…", Rin opened his eyes, "It's the same as the Clone Fists but without the distractions in exchange for having a larger range.", he didn't even pause while saying this.

"Heh! That's obvious.", Hematin put down his fist.

The Clone Fists has already set its location when activated and no longer can change. If there are four fist then it is absolute that one of them is the real one. This is what it differs from the Faded Fists which in its case, while having no distractions like the clones, since it disappeared then it could be everywhere.
