50 – Preparations

It’s been a year since I stayed in this mansion before I knew it.

It was safe to say that there was almost nothing I didn’t know about this mansion.

But even in a mansion like this, there was one room I didn’t know about.

A room that won’t open no matter how hard you try.

A room that can never be opened unless you open the locked lock with the key.

At first, I thought it was just a room for important items like a safe, but no one had used the room for a year.

And the door had traces of frequent use in the past.

That meant someone had been living in that room a long time ago, and I can guess that it was the room Reyna Bioland used.

At my question, Euler was silent for a moment.

I didn’t say anything, but I could see he was in a lot of trouble right now.

And after a while he let out a deep sigh as if he couldn’t help it.

“I don’t know why you ask for the key to Reina’s room.”

Euler took a red key from his bosom and held it up.

It seemed like he always carried the key like that.

“Don’t touch the things inside… …. No. If you have something you want, use it however you like. If it were Reina, that’s what she would have hoped for.”

“Thank you. Father.”

Euler handed me the key.

That was when I was moving my feet to receive the key.

I turned my foot at the minute magic I felt behind the door.

Jumping.

Oiler was a little taken aback when I quickly opened the door.

“Why are you opening the door all of a sudden? Rail.”

I opened the door, but all I could see was the moonlight shining through the window.

However, it was subtle, but I could feel the magic flowing around me.

Someone was listening to our conversation.

It’s not yet at the level of identifying the owner of the mana he can feel, but there was a person who could be roughly guessed.

“Nothing….”

I shook my head and took the key that Euler gave me. Then he lowered his head and slowly closed the door.

After leaving the room, I immediately moved to Reina’s room, which was closed.

“It’s cleaner than I thought.”

Since the room has not been used for a long time, I thought it would be dusty, but the room was surprisingly clean.

The downside is that the room hasn’t been used for a long time, so even if you press the light switch, the light doesn’t come on.

Unlike Rail’s room I first saw, Reina’s room was quite simple.

And her clothes were hanging in the closet, probably the clothes she was wearing at the time.

After taking a quick look around her room, I moved her feet to the desk she was using.

On the table were the pens and notebooks Reina used and a photo of a smiling woman in a small frame.

The woman in the photo looked about the same age as Rail, but her face looked like a mixture of Rail and Lila.

Anyway, the girl in the picture seemed to be Reina Violand, the eldest member of the Violand family.

After staring blankly at her picture for a while, she turned her head.

For some reason, when I was looking at that picture, I felt like I was about to shed tears without even realizing it.

I took my eyes off the frame and checked her notes on the desk.

Sararak- Sararak-

I turned the pages from the first page to the last page, but nothing was written there, probably because it was a new notebook.

I put the note, which didn’t give me much information, back to its place.

And that was when I looked up and checked the room once more.

Kwaguagua-!

Thunder thundered from the sky with a loud sound.

Shuaaa-

When I turned my head to check outside, the rain that had been falling since daytime had shown no signs of stopping.

It is late, past midnight.

It seemed quite difficult to find information late in the morning in a room with no lights on.

If Fenia had been there, she would have illuminated the room with light attribute magic.

In the end, I left Reina’s room thinking that I would return to my room tomorrow morning.

Then, after locking the door to prevent others from entering, I moved to my room.

*

Kung.

After confirming that the rail had returned to the room, Luna looked at his room for a moment, then turned her foot away.

Late morning past midnight.

Luna moved his feet past her room and into someone else’s room.

Knock. Knock.

Then, stopping her feet in front of her familiar room, Luna knocked lightly on the door.

“Come in.”

The voice of the man who hired him for the mansion came through the door.

The door opened with a small sound, and inside the room was a man sitting cross-legged on a chair.

Sitting arrogantly, Kyle looked at her Luna and lifted her chin lightly.

That action meant to keep an eye on the rails today and tell them if they noticed anything unusual, and Luna nodded her head.

“The boy finished taking a shower and went into the master’s room.”

“Did you hear what they were talking about?”

“Yes. They say that the Krafdon family is giving full support to the Violand family.”

“You mean that crazy Chloe?”

She, who is rumored to be worse than Rail as an idiot, liked Rail?

Kyle was taken aback by Luna’s unexpected answer, and Luna calmly nodded her head.

“And was there anything else?”

“… ….”

At Kyle’s question, Luna opened her mouth for a moment, then closed her again.

Seeing her like that, Kyle spoke to Luna in a low voice.

“I did not bring you here by force. You entered the mansion yourself to avenge yourself.”

“I know…. Master Kyle.”

“Then why are you hesitating? Could it be that you have a crush on the murderer who killed your family?”

It was a hit.

But Luna shook her head resolutely, knowing what path she had chosen.

“The boy asked the owner to give him the key to Renia Violand’s room.”

“You mean Lenia’s room key?”

“Yes.”

Kyle’s expression, which had maintained her composure until now, crumpled.

And as she puts her hand on her chin as if things have become more complicated than expected, she is deeply troubled.

Kyle was in deep thought.

“I guess I have to start work tomorrow.”

“Are you talking about tomorrow?”

“Yes. He might find some information in the room. And now that the two of them are away, it’s the right time to start working.”

“… All right.”

The day has finally arrived when she can avenge her sister.

It meant that the end of a year of waiting had finally come.

She was Luna, who had been waiting for this day, but why did her heart not feel comfortable at the words of the prophet Kyle?

Then, without realizing it, Kyle confirmed that her expression had distorted a little, and opened her mouth again.

“And tomorrow, Luna, you can do it yourself.”

“… Yes? Wasn’t tomorrow’s work supposed to be done by another maid?”

“Yes. Originally, it was for Delphine, not you. But aren’t you, unlike the other maids, a person who has a vengeance towards Rail? I am giving you the most important opportunity to avenge your family.”

“… ….”

In response to Kyle’s reasoning, Luna shut her mouth. And after enough time to empty her cup of tea, she opened her mouth again.

“Yes. All right. Master Kyle.”

Looking at Luna’s cold eyes, as if she had made up her mind, Kyle smiled with satisfaction.

“Sure.”

After bowing her head to Kyle, Luna left his room.

Leaving her room, Luna looked at the sky outside her window.

Shuaaa-

Even though it’s been a while since it started to rain, it didn’t seem to stop.

Looking at the rainwater that continued to flow incessantly, it seemed as if it was expressing her own feelings instead.

*

Rail woke up and checked out the window.

Shuaaa-

After a day had passed, the rain had still decreased in thickness, but it was still raining heavily.

At this rate, morning training would be difficult.

I got out of bed, stretched lightly, and checked the time.

Perhaps I slept more than usual, it was a bit past breakfast time.

Anyway, sleeping late at dawn seemed to be the cause of the late sleep.

Come to think of it, I haven’t had a meal at home lately.

I thought I would have to eat home food after a long time, so I changed my clothes and went straight to the restaurant.

At the table, I could see the family eating before me.

But the table felt more shabby than usual.

It wasn’t that the food was shabby. It meant that the number of people at the table was less than usual.

A total of four empty seats at the table.

One was for himself, and the other two were for Fenia and Allin.

But for some reason, there was always one seat left at the table.

I didn’t know why after more than a year of living in the mansion, so I moved my feet to sit next to Euler as usual without much thought.

From the time he first came to this world, it was because he thought it was only natural that he, the eldest, would sit next to Euler.

The moment I slowly sat next to Euler.

I remembered the strange stares of my family when I sat down here on the first day. And I realized belatedly why my family gave me such stares on the first day.
