Episode 4-You Are Cute

“So the monsters…”

When I opened my eyes, a lecture on monsters was flowing into my ears.

I wondered what this was all about, so when I lifted my waist up, my whole body started screaming.

If it was a moderate amount of pain, I would have endured it, but I couldn’t hold back my moaning because a powerful muscle pain I had never felt before was dominating my whole body.

“Ah…”

When I let out a small moan, all eyes in the class instantly turned to me.

“Did you wake up? Listen there.”

Looking around, the textbook was placed right next to me.

This space, which is designed so that you can take classes while lying down completely by manipulating a small device, was a device created by the academy’s tremendous enthusiasm for learning, trying to teach even one more somehow without letting the injured rest comfortably.

‘When I played it as a game, it didn’t matter because I wasn’t sick anyway, but looking at it like this, it’s really crazy.’

I wanted some crazy school to educate students who should be lying in the infirmary, but this is not a school, but a military educational facility…

‘Even if you think so, it makes no sense!’

Someone trains with the wounded.

‘The situation is not as serious as that.’

Even so, I was able to understand the will of not allowing even the slightest waste of time, as he used all of the country’s power to teach the cadets.

‘It hurts so much…’

Is it because he was forced to move with his weak body?

I didn’t know when I was running, but I had muscle pain all over my body.

In the leg that directly supported the weight, clear muscle pain came up to the point where it felt like the muscle was torn, and considerable pain also came up in the shoulder and arm.

If it hurt this much at the point where I hadn’t even run two laps, there was a high probability that I was feeling severe pain enough to die by the time I ran all 10 laps.

No matter how much my body hurts, I had to listen to what I heard, so I took class with the setting set so that I could read the textbook even while lying on my back.

Fortunately, I already knew a lot about the theoretical education, so I was able to properly listen to it even when I was in pain.

“Your will is really amazing.”

As soon as class was over, Yang Ga-hyun approached me.

The level of interest that overflowed from her eyes made me realize what I said before collapsing was terribly wrong.

‘I should have kept my head tight…’

I grabbed my head inside.

Didn’t you draw her attention by saying something cool for no reason, even if you somehow seemed unlikable and got away from her interest?

“It’s not that great.”

“Excessive humility is a downside. You’re a really great guy.”

‘Because it’s not…’

I let out a deep sigh inside her and looked at her. She smiled at what was so good about her.

“But why are you wearing that scarf? When I moved it to check the condition of my body, it seemed to be tightly tied as if it could never come undone… Do you have any scars?”

“Never mind.”

Even though I replied in the most blunt tone I could use to somehow buy her disapproval, she didn’t erase the smile from her face.

“This is an academy that fosters superhumans who will protect Korea and humanity. I don’t know what kind of pain you have on your face, but I still believe in all of us and hope you show your face someday. Even if you have , I can look at you as you are.”

‘It’s not because you have scars or trauma on your face, it’s just because you’re cute?’

Since I possessed Lee Joo-eun, I have never shown it to anyone else, but I have seen my face once through broken glass around the house.

Her face, which fit her small and delicate body, had great pity and even greater cuteness than that pity.

If I had been cuter and more handsome than anyone I had ever seen in person and through the media, I would have felt that revealing my face after seeing a handsome face would be a loss, so I would not bare my face.

“I don’t intend to reveal my face right now anyway.”

“Yeah, think about it slowly.”

During the short conversation, the break time was over, so Yang Ga-hyun hurriedly moved to her seat.

*******

“Can student Lee Joo-eun stay for a while?”

“Okay.”

The muscle pain that hit my whole body still hasn’t gone away, but I’ve gotten used to it to some extent, so although it hurts a lot, I was able to recover enough to be able to walk.

As I finished the routine with a trembling body, an instructor approached me.

“I understand that Cadet Lee Joo-eun does not receive any additional training, is that correct?”

“Yes, that’s right.”

“Why don’t you take it?”

It was a voice that clearly revealed that it was taken for granted to receive it, but I did not have any objection.

It was not supported by the state, and it was a significant amount of money to be borne by the person, but it was a very natural era to receive additional education at least until 8 o’clock when regular education was finished at 4 o’clock.

In order to save the country and humanity, we had no choice but to ask for individual sacrifices.

Having played this game countless times, I couldn’t curse the national anthem.

Because it was not possible for the state to do everything it could, so it was asking for sacrifice from individuals.

“I have no money. I can’t even get a loan.”

Park Soo-hyun, the player of the game, did not have a penny just like Lee Ju-eun, but he was able to receive additional education through a loan.

It took a lot of f*cking to pay off the loan later, but there was still a way to get some extra education.

But Lee Joo-eun didn’t like that.

Lee Joo-eun did not have the special background Park Soo-hyun has.

“That’s a pity…”

He said he had no money, but the instructor couldn’t say anything about it.

If I hadn’t told you about the situation where you couldn’t even get a loan, I would probably have told you to take out additional training even if you got a loan, but I had already preempted the loan, so I couldn’t continue talking about it.

“The cadet’s physical ability is much lower than that of other cadets.”

“I’m well aware of that.”

The instructor let out a heavy sigh.

I knew very well what I would look like from an instructor’s point of view.

They don’t look like they have any outstanding talents, they don’t have enough strength, and they don’t have money, so they don’t get the extra education that other kids do.

“At first, I had a lot of resentment for bringing a weak guy like me to the academy. No matter how much I thought about it, I had no future.”

The instructor lowered his head without saying anything.

She should have said something mixed with hope that you might have talent, but she knew very well that my situation was so dire that even such words didn’t come out right away.

“But now that I’ve entered the academy, I can’t just be hopeless. I have to become stronger and contribute to humanity as much as I can.”

“… Is that why you keep your distance from other cadets?”

Instructor Lee seemed to be a very interested instructor.

It’s only been the first day, but seeing the characteristics of each cadet so well, you can say that the instructor’s luck is very good.

“Slightly. After all, they are different people from me. I didn’t want people like me to hold back outstanding talents who are ready to fly high at any time.”

“Okay…”

The instructor looked down at me with heavy eyes, but I wasn’t drawing a hopeless picture of my future.

Anyway, if you don’t step into the main story and don’t expose this damn face elsewhere, you’ll be able to survive.

“Then I’ll be on my way.”

“What are you planning to do after school?”

“I’m going to do individual training. It’s not easy to move my body, so I’ll try to put as much stuff into my head as possible.”

“Yes, go home carefully.”

When I left the instructor behind and came out of the classroom, a cadet was standing in front of the door, probably because our class was scheduled to have additional training.

Since my body was sick and my mind was not straight, I moved to the side of the cadet without even looking at his face.

-Poof!

The cadet moved sideways at the timing I was moving, and I bumped into the cadet’s body and fell.

“Aww!!”

The moment I fell, the muscle pain that dominated my whole body came up.

As I was rolling on the floor unable to protest against the opponent who knocked me over from the shock, the cadet who knocked me over reached out his hand to me.

“I’m sorry. I didn’t expect you to be that weak.”

Raising my head at the familiar voice, Lee Seo-yeon was looking at me and smiling.

“It’s really cute that you’re raising thorns for that reason.”

Lee Seo-yeon’s soft smile while looking at me really showed me that I was f*cked.
