22 – Chapter 7. CADETS und PANZER – 1

– 23 –

I was caught by Chermia all morning and meditated, so I fell asleep.

Finally, around 11 o’clock, she fell asleep and pinched her forearm by Chermia.

This will cause calluses to form on her forearm.

After lunch, she met Shane and headed to the classroom where the pilot class was held.

“The class starts at 2 o’clock, but the classroom has been empty since before that. If I take a class full time, I usually don’t take the class before the major class because time is tight.”

Cermia, who took a maintenance class before the operator major class yesterday, wasn’t talking about it.

Does she mean that she can afford an operator major class?

“Then, from now on, you should come and study on your own at this time.”

She countered Shane’s words and she entered the classroom.

It seemed that there were other kids with the same thoughts besides us.

The faces I saw at first glance were scattered across the classroom.

As we enter, everyone turns their heads at once and looks over here. It’s a little scary.

There was also a somewhat hostile gaze.

I wondered if it was the gaze towards me, but it was mainly the boys’ gaze towards Shane.

Why is that?

Should I be in the position of those children?

Shane.

Looks normal and plans to major in pilot and warrior at the same time. Kindness with an easygoing personality.

If Shane doesn’t have a problem, she’ll have a problem with the people around him.

Cermia. An S-class beautiful girl in school.

Her appearance is neat, and her personality should not be related to me. She seems to be good at studying.

I. Erif Cruel.

Objectively, this face is a significant favoritism.

This is a proven fact to some extent, as not only the seniors and classmates who love me, but also the guy who looks like butter is just throwing a flirtation.

In other words, Shane is like a playboy with two pretty girls. For others to see.

Actually, I was a pitiful child who couldn’t form friendships except for us because I was forcibly dragged along.

But since you are the main character, you will get along well with the other children when classes are decided from next week and full-fledged exchanges begin.

By the way, now is not the time to worry about the main character.

I also had no guarantee that I would not be hostile to other children.

Because of Curst, I was intentionally ignoring the announcement of nominees after the entrance ceremony, but in this class, I will be subjected to more direct checks.

Then there is one thing I have to do.

Don’t look down. Let’s study hard

The classroom was lined with long desks that could seat more than 5 people in a row.

Chermia took a seat in the corner of the desk in front of her, with me and Shane next to him.

I had not learned anything so far, so I took out a blank notebook and a suitable book and practiced writing.

I was quite proficient at reading letters, but writing was a bit difficult.

I thought I had to practice pronunciation as I was writing, so I turned off the interpreter bracelet and read a small book.

Cermia showed interest as I took out another notebook and wrote down the pronunciation in the letters that remained in my memory.

“Erif. Is that an ancient script?”

“Yes.”

The characters in my memory were characters that could represent the words called ‘ancient language’.

It is unknown if I wrote it in my previous life, but it was the only letter I could remember from the first time I came here.

I saw it in an actual ancient language class, so the ancient letters are probably correct.

In the middle, while talking with the main characters and diligently filling out notebooks, students rushed in.

The time is 1:55.

Class will start soon.

Over a hundred students crowded into this large classroom. Everyone was full of enthusiasm because they were in their majors, but only the back seats were left.

Thank you for the wise judgment of Cermia who came in advance and secured a good spot.

“Nice to meet you!”

As soon as 2 o’clock came, teacher Zereina, whom I met on the day of the entrance ceremony, came in.

And before the students could even say hello, several teachers came in and introduced themselves.

The students clapped each time.

It is said that several teachers take turns taking classes as the pilot major class nurtures core talent.

And the last big, middle-aged man to come in.

“Nice to meet you, students. Oh, didn’t you say that the fortress is a cadet?”

Why are you out there?

“My name is Armion Cruel, who was invited as an instructor for this year’s pilot practice.”

My adoptive father, Armion, looked around the classroom, made eye contact with me and smiled.

While applauding, I could feel the gazes on the back of my head. Because there were so many teachers, I couldn’t even hear the shouting.

“As you can see, this year’s pilot class will be conducted by many teachers including myself. The formal class starts next week, but the schedule is not very tight. If a friend who hasn’t been able to attend this week wants to take this class, please tell them that they need to make up for it later.”

“Yes!”

The teachers who came in rushed out, and only Mr. Reina Jereina remained and conducted her first class, the theory class.

“Erif. You can’t sleep.”

“I’m not sleeping.”

What do you think of me?

Come to think of it, I fell asleep happily during the operator theory class.

But this class is different. As this is a pilot class that will be my major, I will take it seriously.

– After 10 minutes-

My vision, which had been blacked out with a stinging pain, returned to its original state.

What is it? Did I restart it without realizing it? ….

Cermia sitting next to me was pinching my forearm.

There was nothing to say about her expression as if she was scolding a child.

I believe. Cermia, you are a prophet.

“This is the main Gorgon tank of our army. The detailed specifications will be learned from next week. Today, I will explain the simple operation principle.”

In the video floating on the white blackboard, the explanation of the Gorgon continued.

I was engrossed in my notes while watching the video showing the dissection of the tank, including the internal as well as the external as well as the role of each organ, but the writing speed couldn’t keep up with the explanation, so I took notes in ancient characters in a hurry.

I’ll have to transcribe it later in modern characters.

After completing the class fairly faithfully, we gathered at the playground for the two-hour continuous practice class.

It wasn’t Mr. Jareina, but a female teacher and male teacher, who looked a little older, called the children to conduct the class.

“From next week, we are going to receive combat uniforms and change into the changing room here, and then proceed to class. Did everyone know?”

“Yes!”

Satisfied with the students’ energetic responses, the teachers opened a door large enough to fill the wall of a large warehouse.

Students who saw the inside of the warehouse exclaimed with admiration. A few tanks were dug out of the warehouse.

It looked a little dated, but with a heavy metal body and a polished, shiny, luxurious gun.

The wheels of the caterpillar, the legs of the chariot, were full of scars that showed the traces of time.

And one thing that is invisible to others.

[[You are here, boss.]]

[[There are rumors that the young lady has come here. It’s also worth the wait.]]

The little spirits that were attached to the tank gathered towards me. However, it seemed that he was tied to the train and could not come off.

“This is a real Gorgon tank. It was actually used in the Ten Years War. After remodeling it for training, only some of the intermediate spirits remain, and the main gun uses non-lethal magic bullets.”

The children watched the train with their eyes shining at the teacher’s explanation.

“I’m going to try riding it myself in the next class, and this time, I’ll explain each driving part and points to be aware of.”

“Yes!”

In the end, a class that was no different from the theory class continued. The only difference is that you directly point out each part of the tank and explain it.

“This is where the engine is located, and when intermediate fire spirits start the engine, the power is transmitted to each track to move the tank.”

While the children were taking notes in their notebooks, I stared at the engine of the train the teacher was pointing at. The little spirits said so.

At that moment, the head of a spirit the size of a fist popped out of the engine.

[[Boss. That’s me.]]

Who are you?

“So…… Uh?”

The teacher and some children were startled while explaining.

Chermia and Shane also saw a middle-class spirit that appeared with a surprised expression.

Unlike the low-level spirits that looked like a simplified version of the fire drawn by a child, the medium-level fire spirits had a definite shape.

Walking on a tongue made of fire, a fire lizard the size of a forearm appeared completely out of the chariot.

Only me and the fire lizard’s gaze crossed between the bewildered teachers and children.

He looked at me with his eyes twinkling. I said with a bright smile.

“Enter. Don’t startle people.”

The fire lizard crawled into the engine with a blatantly lethargic look.

There was a small commotion, but the class continued.

The noise behind me seemed to get a little louder.

Chermia glared at her back, but it was only then that she became silent.

But I don’t care what other people think.

Rather, I think about how it would be if the conversations with the spirits were exposed explicitly as they get more attention from other children.

I’m implicitly appealing to the spirit’s resignation, so I can increase the justification for driving a helicopter and increase the number of students who learn the spirit language.

The troubles only deepened.
