26 – Chapter 9. Helicopter and Colossus – 1

– 27 –

After dinner on Friday, Zermia and Shane got together at the library.

Because it was still the beginning of the semester, there were not many students.

“I have to decide which class to take from next week and submit it on Monday morning.”

“The morning class may be different, so let’s listen to the afternoon class as much as possible.”

“Yes. From Monday…….”

The two of us were very excited.

Suddenly, they began to draw closer and closer to me in the middle.

I felt like I was going to get crushed, so I jumped up and moved to the other side.

The two main characters were confused as to whether they were embarrassed, but then Chermia moved to my side.

“Hmm! First of all, at 2 o’clock on Monday, we all decided to take a class on ‘Understanding Magical Power’, and at 3 o’clock I and Erif are in ancient language, and Shane is CQC, so it will be different.”

Ancient language is very useful for pilots, so I wanted to teach it to Shane.

“I’ll teach you the ancient language later.”

“Oh, yes. Thank you.”

She smiled slightly at Shane, and looked at her class list at 4 o’clock on Monday.

A history of war that gives me a headache just looking at it.

I don’t even have to listen because I have a lot of extra points.

“I have until 3pm class on Monday.”

“Is your score okay?”

“Yes.”

I want to fall anyway, but I can’t. The principal and the teacher were in the process of forcing students to go to school.

After deciding roughly what classes to take on other days of the week, I pondered whether or not to take the company-wide major class on Friday.

“Erif has surprisingly good physical abilities.”

“Yes? I had no idea.”

Chermia I roughly understood the image of me in my head.

By the way, if you think about it, you don’t need to exercise if you have excellent physical abilities, right?

If you need to, you can exercise separately when you have time.

However, there is a jinx that gives you some kind of enlightenment if you get involved with the warrior class class.

The Hellfire, and the snake-like guy I missed earlier in the day just before being identified.

In the end, I decided to take the full-time major at Gasan branch.

My physical ability is pretty good, so I thought I would get better grades than doze off while sitting in class.

The completed timetable is almost with the two of us except for the only one taking the magic operation class when the main characters take maintenance class on Tuesday.

I felt like I had finished a pretty big homework.

You should rest well tomorrow and the day after tomorrow.

With that in mind, a few hours later, before dawn, the communicator rang.

Who are you, really.

I picked up the communicator on the table next to my bed and fumbled a few times, pressing the call button.

“Yes… ….”

I can’t even speak properly because my throat is locked.

「It is me」

“Curst?”

It was a very tired voice. I looked at the clock and it was half past six.

“Why all of a sudden?”

“Erif. Leave your schedule blank for today.”

“I have no schedule today.”

“Yeah… …. Can you come out in 10 minutes?”

“Yes.”

When I saw that I had been calling since dawn, it was clear that I had urgent work to do.

Like last time, civilians may be suffering without realizing it.

I wore pants and a shirt that were as comfortable as possible.

It is still too early to say that spring is in full swing, so I put on a suitable coat and put a hat on it.

“Ah.”

After tearing up a notebook and writing that it came, I put it under Chermia’s door.

I don’t want you to worry about anything.

In the parking lot behind the dormitory, the driver I saw before was waiting.

It looks like it was sent by Curst in advance.

“Erif. You have to visit the research center and retrieve the relics and then make contact with the general.”

“Okay.”

Come to think of it, I think it was said in the past that you can summon the body by using a pendant.

When I went into the laboratory and asked, the researcher said with a puzzled expression.

“It is possible. But once you use it, the movable device will break. I have made a few spare actuators, but I can’t use them until I sync them again, so if it’s not urgent, I’ll have to put the main unit here.”

It’s like a one-time summoning method used when you’re really in a hurry.

When I tried to put the main body in the pendant, I saw several armed forces lined up on the floor.

Among them, a harpoon-like armament with black magic stones caught my eye.

“Ah.”

Beyond that, the look of the hunter I had missed the other day was overlapping.

I rubbed my eyes and looked again, it was just a weapon.

But my intuition won’t be wrong as it was with Hellfire last time.

“Put that on.”

At my instructions, the researchers quickly began to arm themselves.

After a while, I left the lab with the Hellfire and the harpoon equipped body.

“I’ll pick you up right away.”

“Yes.”

I woke up early in the morning and fell asleep.

I will be there when I wake up with a sigh.

My eyes lit up.

All of a sudden, the car stopped in an empty lot.

“We have arrived, Erif-sama.”

When I got out of the car and looked around, I saw soldiers encamped around a small hilly area.

“Are you here?”

“Yes.”

Kurst was waiting for him, so he approached right away.

Now, I saw Gorgon tanks and vehicles with slightly longer barrels, which I was familiar with and recognized immediately.

Everyone was facing one place, so they turned their heads towards that.

The sun was hanging on a hill not so high.

The hill was lined with high walls, and a tall tower was visible behind the wall.

It was a strange looking tower with a pyramid-shaped head attached to the upper body of a person.

I was looking at the tower while blocking the sunlight by making a awning by hand, and suddenly the tower began to shake.

“Huh?”

I wanted the tower to collapse, but the sideways tower turned slowly.

I saw a huge single eye in the middle of a pyramid-shaped head several hundred meters high.

The man’s gaze turned to this side.

“What, that?”

“As you can see, it is a moving stone statue.”

The identity of the tower was a huge stone statue.

A huge stone statue that engraves the winds and waves of time on its body and excludes anyone who approaches the fortress wall.

Suddenly, the name of that guy popped up in my head.

“[Gravturm]”

Pajik

I had a spark in my head after a long time. I frowned on my own because of the headache.

Gravturm. Aka “Tomb Tower”

One of the giant weapons created by the demon side in the Shinma War to defend the area.

If a nearby race on God’s side approaches, it destroys everything.

If you keep hitting it with a tank or self-propelled gun, it will break, but the damage will be great.

As if several attempts had already been made, various weapons were lying around in the vast expanse that stretched out to the fortress walls.

I noticed the skeletons sticking out here and there, but I struggled to avert my eyes.

“Gravturm? Is that his name?”

Kurst spoke with a tone of surprise.

It seems that there was no record left because it was a weapon used in the Shinma War.

“So. Why is that guy?”

Kirst kicked his tongue and bent over to whisper in his ear.

“It’s the king’s command to feed that guy with a shot he’s attacked somehow. It is said that the Holy Kingdom was scolded because of the last incident with the Republic. He must have teamed up with the Republicans. So, it is said that a heretical interrogation will be conducted to see if your body is a relic of a demon.”

“What?”

This is a heretical interrogation. What? A relic of a demon?

Can you say that when you see a silver gas overflowing with divine energy?

I grinded my teeth without realizing it. Kirst sighed and tapped my shoulder.

“I’m sorry. I thought you were going to block it from the royal level, but maybe the royals are going to test your performance in earnest. If we pretend we don’t know, the Holy Kingdom side will have no choice but to call in a heretic inquisitor.”

Curst blinked backwards.

An elderly man wearing a white robe was looking at the weapons of the Kingdom Army with his sharp eyes.

“The heretic interrogator is a reliable notary besides recognizing the camp of the sergeant, so he must have thought of it as an opportunity to publicize the strength of our army, including you. However, he didn’t seem to have guessed that he would have to deal with that stone statue. Damn King.”

In the end, it was saying that because of the king, I had to come out early in the morning to deal with that huge bastard.

If I meet the king later, I think I’ll go out with my fists.

People wearing white armor and helmets with their face guards down and swords were standing around the Heretic Inquisitor.

The cloth they wore over their armor had a ‘T’ pattern engraved everywhere.

“What about those knights?”

“The guys next to the Heretic Inquisitor are the Paladins. Crazy people who fight tanks with swords.”

Is that possible?

It was absurd rather than surprising or frightening.

“Anyway, cover your face as much as possible and do not show off the spirits, ride your body and approach the stone statue carefully, eat only one attack and come. Then all charges against your body will be cleared.”

I wondered if it would be okay to loosen it up like that, but seeing the remnants of weapons lying on the field again gave me goosebumps.

“What about these tanks?”

Then, shouldn’t I be the only one to come?

What are the tanks and self-propelled guns gathered together as if they were about to attack that statue?

Kurst answered my question with a sad face.

“If you are shot down by that guy, I will lead the entire unit and run to the rescue.”

“What?”

Are you thinking of sacrificing so many people just for me?

I don’t mean to say that I detonated a few tanks a few days ago, but I don’t want my allies who are not enemies to sacrifice because of me.

“Don’t do that.”

“No. There was a royal order to protect you as much as possible, and everyone is prepared.”

Like me, Kirst was stubborn.

We looked at each other and sighed at the same time.

I have to say a word here.

“What if I defeat him?”

Kirst snorted his nose.

“Can you see the wreckage of the tanks in that field? He’s bigger than he looks. If you face it head-on, the attack magic you showed me last time will be defeated before you even use it. So approach carefully…….”

“Okay. I’ll figure it out.”

He shook his head as a sign that he didn’t want to hear it.

The only answer to this is to show it in person.

I don’t know what kind of attack that stone statue will do, but I believe in the potential of me and my body.

I am the only humanoid spirit in the world.

Are you jealous of those mass-produced old-fashioned regional defense weapons?

I went into the supply tent and changed into military uniform like last time.

I looked around and found a suitable black cloth to cover my face. It had skulls scribbled like a pirate flag as if someone was playing a prank.

Is this okay?

The fabric was well folded into a triangle so that the skull part came out and wrapped it around like a mask.

After wrapping his long hair in another cloth, he put on a helmet and lowered his visor.

When I came out, the Heretic Inquisitor who was talking to Curst looked at me and smiled.

I stood in front of the Heretic Inquisitor, ignoring Curst, who looked at my cock and gripped his forehead.

“Hello.”

“Oh, you seem to know Korean.”

He raised his arm and showed the interpreter bracelet. The Heretic Inquisitor’s eyes gleamed.

“Are you the pilot of the new relic?”

“Yes.”

The heretical inquisitor looked as if he was looking at my face, so he turned his head. He had a friendly-looking smile.

“You are much younger than I thought. Student?”

“Okay.”

The Heretic Inquisitor’s face hardened a little when he spoke outrightly in an annoying tone.

He coughed and continued his speech.

“Hmm. The king of Selmeier also said that he would test the performance of the relic, and we also want to determine whether the relic is of a demon or not.”

The heretic inquisitor raised his finger and pointed to the place where the statue was.

“You only need to attack the stone statue of the cursed demon once. If it is a relic of a demon, it is cursed to stop working the moment it attacks that stone statue.”

“Isn’t it a relic of a demon?”

The Heretic Inquisitor’s smile twisted. One corner of his mouth went up, and his squinted eyes glanced at me.

“Then you can attack the statue, or you can be attacked. Oh. Even if the new relic is a relic of a demon, you are the pilot, so you will be attacked. The outcome will be at the discretion of you and the relic.”

You’re saying, ‘I hope you die or the helicopter explodes.’

Come. Accept that challenge.

“Can I go right away?”

At my words, Kirst nodded shakily.

A woman who was nearby held out a cup to me.

“Eat this and go.”

The cup contained hot cocoa.

I said back to it.

“I’ll go back before the cocoa cools down.”
