Thinking about it again, Reina was angry.

She had to live as Reina Rubelite from now on.

She wondered if it was better than her previous life. No, her previous life was a lot better. At least then she wasn’t hated by the world.

‘No, why didn’t god listen to the end? If he’s a god, shouldn’t he read minds or something?’

She directed her aimless anger to god.

At that point in time, she really thought she might fall into hell and couldn’t help feeling anxious.

At the situation unfolding before her eyes, she couldn’t stop swearing. Nothing was going the way she wants.

One day, two days, and a week passed. Not even the shadow of god was seen.

At that point, feelings of abandonment took precedence over anger. There was also a limit to yelling at the wall.

And since she was full of resentment, her situation did not improve at all.

The space designated for her was dark, hot, and had a musky smell. Her meals only consists of hard, tasteless bread.

But that wasn’t the worst of it.

The thing is, she could not control the force that was running amok within her body.

Turbulent black smoke oozed and swirled moment by moment, filling the place.

Time and time again, the walls of the room vibrates, and stone debris fall.

She had asked god to do something about it countless times. The series of curses she directed at him was only because she was angry, but honestly she was begging him repeatedly.

In that moment, an unfamiliar voice echoed in her mind.

— Order the darkness surrounding you, My lord. It will follow your instructions.

It was a completely different voice from god. Although it sounds gloomy and dull, it was very clear.

She was able to control her strength a little bit after that. Once it was a little controllable, she recalled how Reina used her powers.

Her method was simple. Just as the voice said, she just have to give an order to the darkness.

There should not be a single hint of doubt, agitation or hesitation.

She must command it and firmly believe that it would do whatever she tells it to do.

Because of that, it took her a little while to tame her power.

It was embarrassing to issue a command to an insubstantial smoke, but after about a month, she became somewhat proficient.

After spending a lot of time controlling her power, the time signaling the beginning of everything in the game has arrived.

The time when Reina is brought outside by the Duke, and when the world was engulfed by the darkness brought about by her wrath.

‘That will never happen. I will leave here and live a life far from the game’s storyline.’

She knew what awaits her in the future, so she didn’t want to die for being stupid and reckless.

‘That means that from the start, the coachman will not be able to come back home.’

She tried to reduce the power as much as she possibly could and shook the coachman’s body. Luckily, it worked.

“Hey, mister. Are you okay?”

“Uh, uh…”

Frowning his brows in pain, he moaned and slowly opened his eyes.

“Ugh!”

Unfortunately, after confirming that what was in front of him was the protagonist of the oracle and the one who smashed the carriage wall, he breathed in and convulsed as if about to faint again.

Reina wore a kind expression on her face and spoke in a gentle tone that she had never used before.

“Oh my! I apologize. Were you surprised? I can’t control my power well yet. I didn’t mean to hurt you. I am a pacifist.”

“Ugh…!”

The sincere apology made the coachman contemplate. But in the end, it didn’t work at all.

“Really. I just wanted to wash up and eat because I looked messy.”

As she added more excuses, wondering if her explanation was lacking, the coachman fell to his knees.

“I-I-I’m sorry! I apologize, Lord! I have committed a sin worthy of death! Please, please spare my life!”

The coachman begged fervently.

‘It’s not his fault. Why is he doing this to embarrass people? This person…’

“No, no—”

“W-Whatever it is, I will do anything! Please don’t kill me! I have a daughter! Please, spare me!”

No, no. Can’t he tell that I’m trying to solve this in a good way? Why does he keep doing this?

As she sighed in frustration, the coachman shook his head as if he was about to run out of breath. The pleads for his life continued.

By this time, she was already annoyed. Reina couldn’t keep her pretentious face anymore and said coldly.

“Stop! You didn’t do anything wrong. How long are you planning to keep this up?”

“……?!”

He didn’t understand her words, but he was so startled that he almost passed out.

It bothered me that he was talking nonsense, but at least he’s quieter now. It’s so much better than crying and begging.

“How’s your body?”

She was about to add, ‘Is it okay?’, but she deliberately asked coldly, fearing that he would ask her to spare his life again.

Fortunately, it must have been the correct course of action. The coachman shook his head.

“I-I’m alright!”

Although she has little experience in this world, she was born and raised in a Confucian country.

It’s a little hard to deal with someone who’s the size of an uncle, but…

‘It can’t be helped.’

What does it matter if she’s not polite?

Moreover, although she is branded as the final boss, she was still the Duke’s eldest daughter.

She didn’t have to be respectful except if she’s in the presence of the royal family, so it was strange for her to show some manners in the first place.

‘Most of all, that kind of tone and personality don’t suit Reina at all.’

Having put her heart at ease with her quick judgment of the situation, she asked the coachman.

“Can we proceed to our destination?”

“Y-Yes, Yes!”

The coachman jumped up as if he was ready to leave at any moment.

‘He just woke up after fainting, will he be okay?

No, wait. He didn’t get hit and he didn’t fall off the carriage, so maybe he’ll be fine.’

As she nodded her head with an expressionless face, thinking positively, the coachman swiftly opened the carriage door.

‘He works well, but I want him to stop doing this because it makes me feel like a bad person that is harassing and coaxing him to do things.’

After that, the carriage raced down the road as if it had been motorized.

Rather than washing herself, she was more worried that she might not be able to eat a slice of bread and go straight to her destination with an empty stomach.

So Reina tapped lightly next to the hole she had just punched with her fist.

“Hey, Mister.”

“Hi-hic!”

The startled coachman pulled the reins vigorously and gripped it tightly. The horses stopped with a loud cry.

“……?!”

Reina, who almost pierced a hole in his head this time, shot a glare towards the coachman. Terrified, he immediately apologized.

“S-S-Sorry…”

“It’s fine, when are we taking a break? I want to wash myself. I’m hungry too.”

The clothes she was wearing was tattered and old, so she wanted to buy new ones, those with no holes.

There were so many jewels in the carriage, so she can just exchange that to buy new clothes. The luggage compartment still has some space left.

“We, we will be arriving at the Transfer Stone, so you will get to your destination in no time! R-Right now, there are no villages nearby where we could stop by and rest!”

“Transfer Stone?”

The Transfer Stone is a huge gem that stores massive amounts of magic power to allow transfer from one place to another regardless of the distance.

However, it was expensive enough that even some nobles cannot afford it.

Therefore, it was mainly used by the wealthy aristocrats and the imperial family.

Of course, the heroine was loved by everyone, so she was able to use the Transfer Stone for free.

However, she is Reina. The exception was only for the female lead, so even the Duke of Rubelite cannot be exempted.

But she’s going to move through the Transfer Stone.

‘Indeed. It seems like the Duke wanted to throw me away as quickly as he possibly could.’

Since she is the Demon King that would destroy the world in the oracle that was passed down from a thousand years ago, it’s understandable that he would do so.

‘But Reina is still his daughter. Wasn’t she born out of his love for his wife?’

She was like a piece of gold that was locked up and kicked out for no good reason— no, the moment she was locked up, she was just garbage waiting to be thrown away.

“I-I’ll look for a place to rest…!”

As Reina was lost in thought, the frightened coachman declared that he would find a place where she could wash up.

She had been in this state for a month or so, and she couldn’t stand it any longer.

But when she thought about it again, she wondered if there was a clothing store and an inn that would receive her.

Reina pursed her lips, uncharacteristic of a real Demon King. She didn’t want to bother him so she shook her head right away.

“It’s fine. Just go as fast as possible.”

“Yes, yes! Yes!”

The carriage, which had stopped as the coachman waited for an answer, accelerated.

Her destination was already close. It would’ve been fine if she rested for a bit and left, but it’s too late for regrets.

The coachman reached a tall white building and held out a piece of parchment to the gatekeeper at the entrance.

“It is an errand from His Excellency the Duke of Rubelite. We have contacted you in advance.”

The gatekeeper let the carriage pass through without any inspection.

‘I was worried that I might have to get off the carriage.’

Fortunately, no such thing happened. It was probably the work of the Duke who wants to keep her existence a secret, even going as far as paying a hefty sum.

The carriage moved slowly into the building. Soon, they arrived at the huge hall in the center of the building.

As a dazzling, multicolored light shone through the window, she poked her head out.

She was no different from a curious child.

The first thing that caught her eye was an oval-shaped giant jewel that was well over 5 meters tall.

It was truly magical to see the color of the gems change with a luminous glow.

‘I can really feel like I’ve come to the world of the game.’

It felt new to her that she had come to think this way. But she realized that this was different from the reality that she knew.

While admiring the exotic scenery, the wizards who had completed their preparations formed a circle with the Transfer Stone and the carriage in the middle.

They were all dressed in pure white robes that seemed clean enough that it was not stained with single particle of dust, and hoods to cover their faces.

“We will begin. There’s a chance that you may lose your sight, so close your eyes and bow your head.”

Startled by the warning, the coachman hurriedly closed his eyes and bowed his head. The wizards soon began chanting a spell.

Reina wanted to see more, but a blinding light from the Transfer Stone forced her to close her eyes.

Did ten seconds pass like that?

Suddenly, as if drowning in ice water, a sharp wind struck her skin.

She carefully opened her eyes and looked outside only to be greeted by a vast field of snow.

‘We’re already here?’

Astonished, she got out of the carriage and looked around. There was a large, ice-covered mansion built among the lean, leafless trees.

The doors, the windows, everything’s frozen. It was an abandoned mansion.

“…This isn’t the place where I’ll live, right?”

That damn Duke!
