I Dont Want Power, I Just Want To Craft

Chapter 1 - First Manual Craft

It's been 1 year since I play Venerian, a virtual reality game.

To be more precise it is a banal mmorpg but with a community of more than 150 million players.

But me Jerome a 20-year-old man can not seem to find p.l.e.a.s.u.r.e in killing monsters, level-up satisfaction has become in just 20 levels just an unpleasant sound.

Therefore I am looking for new ways to have fun in games.

I tried dozens of different things, from the pet collection to trying to get all the titles available at my level.

But without success ...

The only thing that appealed me in this game was the nutty beer served in the white squirrel bar in the starting town of the game.

Meanwhile while I'm doing this extremely long monologue I'm drinking one.

As I finished my beer a dwarf with a completely white beard and amethyst purple eyes approached me and said "Young man I see you strolling trying to do a lot of things that make no sense, why don't you come help me at the forge I have just received a big order from the army, you will be paid 2 White Inim per sword.'

A crafting quest? Now that I think about it I've never tried the crafting system, from what I've heard there are two ways of crafting in this game, the automatic craft that just consists of joining materials and pressing a button and the manual craft that requires knowledge and technique in his job, for example for Manual Craft a sword, one must do like IRL Blacksmithing etc.

"Oh yes I almost forgot if you craft a Manual Craft sword you will be payed 5 White Inim per sword."

[Quest Rank F: Help the blacksmith finish his order of 20 swords.

Reward: Auto Craft: 2 Inim per sword + Blacksmith Job

Manual craft: 5 inim Sword + Blacksmith Job + Crafter Class Unlocked]

The famous Class of Craft, normally in the game the player can only have 3 harvesting jobs and 1 Craft job, but the Craft Class can have 5 harvest jobs and as many Craft jobs as he wants but however it's extremely weak in combat with all his stats only gain one point per level, unlike combat classes which gain 5 points per level.

Well, let's try the craft but if this not for me just gonna quit the game i guess, no actually just connecting to drink beer is not a bad idea.

"I accept"

After accepting the quest he followed the dwarf to a building that all the players once visited, the first association of Blacksmiths also called Markarit Association, in the association all blacksmiths are registered and the players can make craft requests on the table of requests, queries are present there ranging from the search for materials to craft items for pnj.

After returning the dwarf took him to a room on the 3rd floor of the building, the room had all the tools to forge, even the materials were provided.

[Iron

Rank F one star

Just the basic Iron used for small town guard weapons and beginner players]

The materials are rated F to SSS, F lowest and SSS highest.

Each grade has 10 stars each representing the quality of the material and each star on the material increases stats and durability of the weapon.

The dwarf left the room and Jerome began to craft, he equipped the hammer donated by the association and took an iron ingot and a piece of wood.

[Craft possible:

Iron Sword: F rank One Star

Iron Dagger: F rank One Star]

He selected the sword and another notification appeared.

[Iron Sword selected.]

Two buttons appeared before him asking him to choose between Auto Craft and Manual Craft.

He selected the autocraft.

The materials began to shine and began to change shape gradually to take the shape of a basic sword with a wooden handle.

[Iron Sword

Rank: F One Star

Damage: 10-15

Durability: 50/50]

The transformation took 3 seconds.

"Well, let's finish it, I may have time to drink a beer before disconnecting "

Jerome continued crafting until he reached the last one, as he was getting ready to press the Auto Craft Button when he saw the button for the Manual Craft and started hesitating.

"After all why not ?" Jerome thought

He pressed the button and another message appeared

[A tutorial will guide you in your first Craft Manual ]

[1st stage Iron Heating

Place your ingot in the brazier and fed the fire using the nozzle, a mini game will be proposed during this tutorial you will have to maintain the icon in the form of flame in the green zone to be at the right temperature but during a real Manual Craft this mini game will not be there to help you.]

Jerome took the iron ingot with the pliers and placed it in the center of the fire.

[Perfect position + 5% Heating speed, +5 Crafting sucess chance]

Then he went to a kind of V-shaped accordion, when Jerome pressed the accordion he felt air coming out and headed for a pipe connected to the inside of the oven where the fire was.

For 10 minutes he continued the metal began to change color, it gradually turned red then became cherry red and finally it began to turn pale and that's when the mini game ended and he received another message

[Perfect heating: + 5% crafting success chance]

A smirk was present on Jerome's face, he grabbed the pliers and pulled the metal out of the oven, Jerome was fascinated by the appearance of the iron, the ingot had keept its shape but its extremities were white and the center the color went towards a deep red, reminding him of a ripe cherry.

[Step 2 Metal Shaping:

Shape your ingot into a blade and the inside of the handle with your hammer, a mini game will be proposed in the tutorial, you will hit the target appearing on the ingot.]

Jerome took the hammer and positioned the ingot on the anvil with the help of the pliers and the first target appeared, Jerome struck with all his might with the hammers.

A noise from the confrontation between 2 metal resounded followed by a multitude of red spark.

Jerome continued to hit and gradually the shape of the ingot changed to a classic sword with a straight blade, a simple guard and support for the handle.

[Placed your sword in the water located in the barrel next to the anvil]

Jerome plunged the result of his hard work into the water, the water began to overflow because of the water started to boil due to the high temperature of the sword.

[Step 3 Sharpening

A sword must be sharpened on both sides and the tip, the precise movement that it requires this step is not in the tutorial but for your training here ten sharpening stone low quality]

[Sharpening stone

Rank F

One star] x10 received]

[The wooden handle is not part of the job of blacksmith but that of Handyman a handle is added your inventory]

[Wooden handle

Rank F

One Star]

[The tutorial is now finished sharpening is done by the system this time in quality corresponding to the quality of your craft, you just have to put the wooden handle to finalize the craft.]

All of a sudden the blade started to get sharp but Jerome was not concentrating on that, he had just pulled out the wooden handle of his inventory, the handle was covered with a red cloth of low quality.

He grabbed it and put it on the metal handle and then he added the round iron pommel given by the game.

[Manual Craft Finished

result:

Iron Sword

Rank F

One star

Damage: 15-20
