I Dont Want Power, I Just Want To Craft

Chapter 4 - Spear, Arrow Head and Comparing Weapon

Jerome walked for a few minutes before arriving in front of a small stone building just next to two stores, a potion seller and a mage equipment store.

He opened the door and a bell sounded alerting the owner when a customer arrived.

The counter was about 5 meters long and was made of dark wood, before the counter there was 3-4 meters where there was storage space in the form of a large empty wooden cube that could be used to store swords.

On the walls there were hanging shelves, and behind the counter there was a wooden puppet to attach armor to.

Behind the counter there was a curtain leading to the forge.

The forge was spacious and had an oven, anvil, tools forging, ingot molds and arrow head molds, empty barrels and when it touched tools a mesage appeared.

Cost: 3 Black Inim

15 Pure Iron Ingot]

Jerome did not attach any importance to it at the moment, and went to the trunk just beside the desk, he put all his Iron Ingot inside and took one and said, "Well, a spear is very different from a sword, I will not even use the entire ingot probably three quarters, I should keep the rest and melt it to make the arrowhead. "

"Should I make a flat spear head that can be used to slice in addition to being able to pierce? Probably a bad idea, i can't even make stable sword, in addition it requires a greater mastery since it requires that the spear head be more flexible and need to be lighter. "

"Well let's see the body of the spear given by the quest." After saying that he pulled out a big stick.

"It is heavy and rigid resembling the spear of the Middle Ages used by the anti-cavalry unit, it is a spear used to defend by keeping the spear still and protect themselves behind a shield."

To forge a spear head it is necessary to go through 2 stages, the first one creates the cylindrical tube which will connect the blade and the handle of the lance and then welded it to the blade and the handle.

There is another way but the handle does not have a slot.

He took an ingot and placed it in the center and heated the iron until it was Cherry in color.

He placed it on the anvil leaving a quarter of the ingot passed from the anvil and he took a spatula made of rigid iron and sharp edge and placed where the ingot exceeded and struck with his hammer.

After 4-5 strokes the piece of metal was sliced, he did this again and placed a quarter of the ingot in a small bowl and put it to melt in the oven.

Then he began to forge the cylinder, first he made the iron piece flat and thin then he used the edges of the anvil to give it a half cylinder shape.

He did the same for the second quarter of ingot.

Then he made the blade flat but with a thickness of more than the cylinder.

Then he welded the pieces of the cylinder by placing them in the oven while holding them against each other with 2 clamps.

During this stage he had to be extremely attentive to the color of the metal, and it took time, once the two part welded he plunged into the water the result.

Jerome noticed that on the cylinder there were hammer marks so he took a sharpening stone and started to correct the imperfections.

He continued until the cylinder was smooth then he said "Damn, I forgot to make the slot to put the blade."

He took his hammer and a smaller iron spatula and struck delicately to avoid breaking the cylinder.

He managed to made the slot and put the blade he had sharpened just before.

Then he soldered the cylinder and the blade and so the spear head was finished.

It formed a triangular blade connected to a cylinder where he placed the handle, the size of the cylinder was too big, so he hit the bottom of the cylinder to drive the metal into the wood.

He put the pommel and received a message.
