Chapter 13: Guild of the Setting Sun

In the evening, the adventurer’s guild was bustling with its usual energy.

This was due to the fact that this month, the tough party “Zombi”, the strongest in the guild, had earned a lot of money.

No one thought that this would be their last day of glory.

The laughter of senior adventurers who had ridiculed Aix echoed at the buyback counter.

“Hahaha! We had a great catch this time too! But boy, bonus time is delicious.”

“That’s exactly right. Only those with wisdom can become adventurers.”

“Hahaha, you said something good.”

At the secret hunting ground that they held special importance to, there was a period every month called bonus time for some reason.

It’s a strange thing, but magic stones are littered.

It was a narrow period of existence that was certainly there, whether it was a blessing from the gods or a trap that tempted people into a dangerous forest, no one knew for sure.

They managed to get it again this time.

A huge magic stone was placed on the buyback counter. It appeared to be a named item.

“Now, appraise it for me.”

Fellow professionals gathered around with envious looks as the man presented the magic stone.

The receptionist who appraised it widened her eyes.

“Um…Wow! Zombi’s, you guys are amazing this month too!! As expected. It’s King Orc, the “Gluttonous Carnal Desire King.”

“GYAHAHA. How was that! That’s our strength!”

“The weak should leave.”

“This is the duty of those with power.”

According to the appraisal results, they were excellent.

King Orc 1, Shadow Wolf 8, Orc 15.

There was a thunderous round of applause!

Today, even other adventurers praise them as heroes. No one had anything bad to say. After all,

“Tonight, our treat! Come along!”

“You’re absolutely right.”

“Gahaha, more drinks!”

“Zombi’s, that’s amazing. We’ll follow you to the ends of the earth!!”

The tireless Zombi’s are heroes.

Heroes who treat them to alcohol are good marks.

Second rounds, third rounds.

As long as it’s just alcohol, they feel like they’ll follow them anywhere. They are like zombies bitten by the Zombi’s.

The leader of the corrupt, Guild Master, grins and encourages the Zombi’s.

“Well done. Butz, Elfmann, and Dwarf. I’m also very proud. It was worth giving you a stern lecture in the joint meeting.”

“Thank you.”

“Oh, I’m grateful to Guild Master.”

“Gahaha.”

In the midst of everyone’s alcohol-fueled gaze, only Guild Master noticed the Zombi’s slight discomfort.

“What’s wrong, tireless zombies? Your complexion looks bad. Should I motivate you?”

The warrior leader, Butz, scratched his head awkwardly. The unnamed dwarf pushed him to go to the pub, while the elf mage shook his head, looking incredibly tired.

“As expected, we can’t fool the guild master’s eyes. Yeah, suddenly I don’t feel very good. We’ll rely on the regular joint meeting.”

“Hahaha, we’ve already made too much money this month. I want to drink quickly, so let’s go.”

“That’s exactly right. I’m tired, so I’ll pass.”

The guild master sighed at the lack of motivation from the zombies, but adventurers can do anything as long as they get results.

“Rest is also important, so drink well.”

“Yeah!”

They watched as the group disappeared into the pub. The guild was satisfied with their safety, but the receptionist brought troubling news, and the sound of destruction was approaching.

“I’m sorry. Aix-san refused us after all.”

The guild master remembered that the useful slave, Aix, had escaped and made a bitter face.

“Damn, what a defective mage. Well, we have a plan. If he doesn’t return soon, he’ll have a lot of work to do and he’ll be in trouble. He doesn’t even know that. Bottom-feeding adventurers are so low-minded.”
