I Hate Systems

514 Peerless Fire

"Waah!" Lota—one that had turned into a tiny wasp—swerved past one tree after another, sometimes using the bodies of her Treant underlings to hide behind.

Multiple attacks landed around her, aiming for her because a lot among the enemies had seen her raising such a massive forest almost instantly to guard against the acid fall.

Moreover, they could easily sense that she was an Evil Spirit, hence targeting her with tricky attacks. Lota never retaliated though, only scrambling to escape, making mistakes along the way that cut off her escape routes one after another.

Though, this was her plan. After all, she was Host to a rather long-winded System.

Desperate Luck System—Level 41!

It was a type of luck that was only effective when she was desperate. So, unless she was in such a situation, she wouldn't obtain any benefits from her luck. And hence, she had no other choice but to make a habit of forcing herself into a desperate situation.

That was why she had waited until the damage from the acid rain before accumulated to a certain degree. Only after that did she take action. This way, she was able to harness her luck and erect the forest almost instantly.

Moreover, in that instant, thanks to her desperation, her luck values shot up enough to overwhelm the gigantic Main Character luck that she was sensing in the sky. That was why she was successful in her actions.

Straxia too had taken the chance to unleash a powerful bolt of lightning to shatter the Reality Marbles. But, she had yet to show herself though.

And the reason was apparent.

She was waiting!

She was waiting for all the Systems Hosts to die before showing herself. This way, she would be assisted by all sorts of luck. And only she could take actions while assisted by various luck.

Even though Lota disliked such an arrangement, it was what all the Luck based Systems had decided in the end.

'This wouldn't have happened if the Destiny Luck System had succeeded in killing the Main Character in the Folkan Secret Realm.' She thought, swerving through a sea of abilities before aiming her stinger at a powerhouse, unleashing a beam of sunlight that diverged and sprayed upon her opponents.

Heaven Martial Spirit—Solar Wasp!

"Keuk!" The powerhouse and the surrounding experts sprayed upon by her sunlight suddenly grunted in shock as their skin slowly began to turn green as it seemed fine, hair-like grass was growing on their skin.

"Kyak!" One of the experts with a Fire Martial Spirit bellowed as he enveloped his body with flames, noticing that the growth of the hair-like grass had slowed down. But, the strength of his flames wasn't strong enough to wholly supress the grass as soon after, he collapsed to the ground as a ball of hay.

Soon after, his body was turned into nutrients as a massive tree grew in the place, slowly releasing a pleasant-smelling nectar that turned into mist immediately upon coming into contact with the air.

"Hahaha!" A Treant smiled upon sensing the nectar mist, rushing straight at the Tura City Wall, using a massive wood shield to defend its body as any injuries it sustained healed automatically.

It directly crashed into the wall as its roots began to seep into the wall, slowly penetrating through it.

"As if I'll let you!" Suddenly, a burly man bellowed, turning into a twenty-metre-tall bear as he grabbed hold of the Treant and ripped it out of the wall, shaking off its roots that were gripping the wall tightly as he tossed it to the side, displaying fearsome strength.

Boosted by the Blood Vitality Pills that he had consumed in torrents, his physique had reached a whole new level of strength. Adding onto his Bear Martial Spirit that was famed for strength, he was unstoppable.

The Treant grunted, unleashed countless roots in an effort to constrict the bear but failed to lock it in place as the bear ripped it apart.

Puff!

It opened its mouth wide, clamping upon the Treant's trunk to shatter it into pieces before spitting it out, snorting in rage after seeing the Treant slowly healing from its injuries, "Your vitality is amazing. But…"

It then leaped up, landing on the Treant to shatter its trunk into pieces, "But your physique is weak."

"What the…heck? Why are you so strong?" The cloud in the air bellowed in fear as most of it was vaporised by the flaming bird. "I made it to the top twenty of the Providence League! How can you be stronger than me?"

"Only twenty?" A mocking voice resounded from the firebird that cackled, "Sixty years ago, I was ranked second. I couldn't contend for the first place due to a disaster faced by my Clan at that time and hence had to return."

"Impossible!" The cloud screamed, "If you were ranked second, then why wasn't your name there? Unless you are dead, your name wouldn't be removed."

"If you leave the Arena for more than a decade, your name would be removed." The firebird spoke, "I guess you didn't ask any retired veterans about me, the Gaider Realm's Blazing Sun Clan Leader, Balmer!"

"Balmer?" Suddenly, a surprised voice resounded from the enemy army as an old man took off to the skies, muttering in shock, "Why are you still alive? Everyone from your generation is already in their sick bed or in the afterlife. Even if they maintained their health, they can't exercise much power."

"Then, how are you still…in your prime? No, you've surpassed you prime." He asked in shock.

"T-Then, it's the truth?" The cloud trembled before turning around, intending to run away. Anymore, and he would be destroyed by the opponent.

"Don't run!" The Blazing Sun Clan Leader, Balmer snorted as he clenched his hand into a fist. Suddenly, alongside the fleeing figure of the cloud, sparks formed before bursting into flames that converged around it, constricting it in a sea of flames.

An instant later, the sea of flames turned into a miniature sun, exploding with tremendous heat that the dense, greenish forest below slowly began to lose its vitality as the water contents in the trees began to vaporise from the heat.

"In my younger days, when I entered the Folkan Secret Realm…" The Blazing Sun Clan Leader relaxed his clenched fists, having vaporised the cloud, "I obtained a fusion material that purified my flames and gave me a body of pure fire. Thanks to that, I attained longevity."

The moment he said so, smoke erupted around him as his appearance began to regress, slowly returning into a youth, shocking every powerhouse on the battlefield, for his power spiked to a whole new level.
