Episode 4

“Ke-heo-eok!”

Jungmin woke up with a heavy exhalation and looked around while clutching his chest.

‘Where is this…?’

Looking back at his memories, Jeong-min recalled that he had been beaten hard in the chest by a large green monster.

Recalling the feeling of his heart being crushed, Jeong-min trembled and thought.

‘Did someone… save me…? But this place…?’

Wiping the blood from his mouth, Jungmin looked around.

A square space measuring about 5m in width and height.

All sides are blocked, but it is not completely dark due to the soft light flowing from somewhere.

No matter how much I look around, I can’t see a door through which I can enter.

Jung-min looked at the items piled up everywhere and realized that they were all items he had put in his inventory.

Jeongmin slumped on the floor and murmured.

“This is…in my…inventory…”

Jeongmin was confused.

‘How did you get into the inventory? No living creature could enter the inventory…then I died… did I?’

Jimin could feel goosebumps running through his body.

‘..I wonder if my heart stopped momentarily after being hit in the chest by that big green monster..’

Jeongmin lifted a small box from the floor and opened the lid.

Inside the box was the dead body of a white hamster as if sleeping.

‘Goreum’s twisted leg…is back properly…’

After being broken off the table and not being properly treated, the leg part of Cloudyi, who died, was back to the same state as before the injury.

Jung-min lightly brushed Cloud’s leg with his hand and then put the lid back on.

Jung-min put down the small box and lifted up a small frame containing a photo of him and his mother.

The glass, which had a fine crack in the corner, was repaired as if it had never happened.

‘Repair magic…’

Jeongmin gently touched the chest that had been hit by the monster.

The throbbing pain was quite painful, but it didn’t feel like it was broken.

‘… have I been repaired…? Thanks to that, my stopped heart started beating…?’

Thinking of the previous time when Cloud’s heart stopped and he was sucked into the inventory, Jung-min was able to roughly understand the current situation.

‘I was lucky…it was really good…even though the wounds were healed, my heart started beating again…really heaven helped me…I survived…I survived that hellish place…’

As I was looking at the picture I took with my mother, the relief that I had survived came over me, and my eyes blurred.

Jung-min held the picture frame in his arms and sobbed a little.

After a while, Jung-min, who had calmed down to some extent, began to worry.

‘It’s good that I survived…how do I get out of here?’

I know that there is no door because I have already looked around.

‘Since I entered through the inventory gate… can I leave?’

Jung-min summoned the inventory gate.

“Inventory”

As Jung-min spoke, an inventory gate was created in the middle of the inventory wall, not in front of his eyes.

“It’s open… Huh!”

Jung-Min ran in front of the inventory gate with delight, but backed away in amazement.

It was because the green monster was visible through the open inventory gate.

As if not noticing the existence of the inventory gate, the green monster wandered around and disappeared to the other side.

Jeongmin murmured with a surprised look on his face.

“Outside…you can see…? I can hear the sound…the gate has opened where I last opened my inventory…”

Surprised by the fact that he could see and hear the situation outside through the inventory gate, Jung-min came to the inventory and looked outside.

Quite a lot of time had passed, and it was very bright outside.

Jung-min took out his smartphone from his pocket and checked the time.

“It’s past 7 o’clock…I’ve been passing out for a really long time…”

Looking at the smartphone, Jun-ki came to mind.

‘That guy…is he safe?’

I wanted to contact you right away, but there was a communication failure sign on my smartphone.

Jung-min turned off his smartphone and put it in his pocket to save battery.

Jung-min felt bleak at the outside situation he saw through the inventory gate.

A huge gate looking ahead. This is the monster’s gate that Jung-min saw last night.

The area around the gate was full of monsters.

‘They said that the monsters guard the gate…of course, there’s no choice but to be swarmed with monsters…but…you can’t get out like this…’

No matter how much I look around, it is full of monsters.

If you go outside through the inventory gate, you will be immediately surrounded by monsters.

‘You must have been very lucky last night… To survive in the stronghold of so many monsters…’

Jung-min was engrossed in worry as he watched the monsters wandering around without being conscious of the inventory gate.

‘…The plan to wait until the monsters around are gone… is impossible. As long as there is a monster gate right in front of you… This area will always be overflowing with monsters… It’s difficult…’

Jeongmin looked at the inventory gate and gently touched it with his palm.

[Living creatures cannot pass through the inventory gate.]

‘……I can’t go out anyway…’

Jimin lay back with a depressed expression on his face.

And I woke up right away.

“Move space!”

Jungmin looked outside and thought.

‘The space movement skill is a skill that allows you to move anywhere within your field of view! If you use that skill, you’ll be able to get out!’

Jung-Min was excited with anticipation, but soon died again and his shoulders drooped.

‘Even if it’s possible to get out… after that is the problem… can you get rid of the group of monsters outside with three space shifts? Haa… it’s really a mountain beyond the mountain..’

Jung-min lay back and looked at the ceiling inside the inventory, thinking.

‘Once you use teleportation to get out, you can’t come back here again. You can’t see this inside through the inventory gate that opens from the outside… So it’s only one chance… Be careful…’

Jungmin looked around and thought.

‘It’s a waste… This is an absolute safe zone where no one can come except me… Once you leave, you can’t come back…’

At the moment, the thought piercing his head made Jung-min jump up and shout.

“Designate base!”

Jimin’s head started spinning rapidly.

“Why didn’t I think of that? This inventory is the absolute safe zone I’ve been searching for so long, right? What better place to designate a base than here!”

Jeongmin got up from his seat and muttered as he walked back and forth through the inventory space.

“If you designate this place as a base, you can always come back in even if you leave.. If you think it won’t work after going out and running away with the space movement skill, open the gate to the base and come back. I can’t believe I just came up with a good method like this!”

Jung-min moved to the middle of the inventory.

After taking a deep breath, he used the base designation skill.

“…designate a base”

When he used the skill, a light flashed where Jung-min was standing and quickly disappeared.

A message appeared in front of Lee Heuk High Jung-min’s eyes.

[The base has been designated. You can open and close the gate to the base from anywhere.

The gate can only be used by registered persons other than the owner. (Maximum number of registered persons: 1)]

‘Only registered people can use it… You mean one more person besides me? If I raise the skill level, the number of people who can use it will increase..?’

Jungmin said while thinking about his skills.

“First… let’s open it… open the gate”

Jung-min tried using the gate skill, but nothing happened.

‘Hmm…yes, it doesn’t make sense to open the gate to the base from inside the base.

Jeongmin took a deep breath as he picked up his sword.

‘Let’s not be nervous… we can do it…’

Jung-min, who was looking outside through the inventory gate, used the space movement skill while looking at a place where monsters were not concentrated.

Jeongmin’s figure disappeared from the inventory and appeared among the monsters.

Beetle.

Jung-min staggered from the dizziness that came over him and fell to his knees.

‘Oops…’

Surprised by the sudden appearance of Jung-Min, the monsters stayed in a daze for a while, then began to rush at them with screams and screams.

Even in the midst of dizziness and difficulty in controlling his body, Jung-min quickly opened the gate to move to the base.

‘Gate open!’

An elliptical gate emitting blue light was created in front of Jeongmin’s eyes.

Jeongmin gritted his teeth and threw himself toward the gate.

dump

Jung-min, who came back into the inventory, couldn’t control his body at all because of the dizziness that got worse.

‘Why…why are you so dizzy?’

Jeongmin lay down on the inventory floor and closed his eyes for a while.

After some time passed and the dizziness subsided, Jung-min opened his eyes again and sat up.

The gate Jung-min had opened and entered had already disappeared.

“Ah…I’m scolded…Why are you so dizzy? Are there any side effects to passing through the base gate…? “

Jeongmin walked to a corner of his inventory and used teleportation while looking at the opposite corner.

“…Nothing’s wrong…? It’s just the same as usual…but why are you so dizzy when you go out and come back in…”

Jung-min thought hard about it, but couldn’t figure out the cause.

“..I don’t know why, but when I leave and enter the inventory, I get extreme dizziness, right?

Jungmin sighed and opened the status window.

“Status window”

[Jungmin Choi

Possessed Skills: Gate (lv.1) Space Movement (lv.2) Perspective (lv.1)

The ‘base designation’ has been changed to ‘gate’.. And if the remaining mana is 1.. I’ve used space movement twice and used the gate once.. The amount of mana consumed for using the gate is 7.. ‘

Jungmin sat on the floor and pondered.

‘If you consider using a gate, the maximum number of space movements that can be used for escape is two.. But can you escape there in two? It’s not just that, it’s accompanied by tremendous dizziness…?’

Jungmin shook his head.

‘Where’s the wrong? If I can’t escape, I might have to live here for the rest of my life… but I have to escape unconditionally…’

Jeongmin waited for mana to recover.

“Because it recovers by 1 every 10 minutes.. 170 minutes.. you have to wait for almost three hours to fully refill your mana… shall we eat something..”

Jeongmin searched for something to eat, remembering that he hadn’t eaten anything since last night.

After finding some snacks, Jeongmin waited for mana to refill.

“..it’s sore to wait still without doing anything…should I exercise at least..”

Jung-min couldn’t overcome boredom and got up and began to warm up.

A small question passed through Jung-min’s mind as he blankly looked at the inventory wall and warmed up.

‘By the way…where is this place with the inventory?

What kind of 4-dimensional space is it? It’s not the Earth… is it?’

Jeongmin opened the status window and checked the amount of mana.

‘Now I’ve only risen to 4.. The clairvoyance skill consumes 2 mana at a time.. Shall I use it only once…?’

Curiosity aroused, Jung-min slowly approached the wall of the inventory.

‘I can’t even see through if it’s over 10cm.. I’d like the thickness of the inventory wall to be thin.’

Jung-min used clairvoyance against the wall.

A bluish aura appeared in Jung-min’s eyes, and he began to see the other side of the wall at Lee Heuk High School.

‘….see..?! Fortunately, the walls aren’t that thick..!’

Jeongmin stared at the other side of the wall, straining his blue eyes.

The blue aura disappeared from Lee Black High’s eyes, and Jung-min’s face was full of surprise.

Jimin’s heart started beating.

“That place…was the same space as this place…the same place I’m standing in…the same…”

Jimin tried to calm his beating heart.

I saw it clearly.

A lot of different things piled up in the same space as where you are.

“Beyond these walls…”

Jimin took a deep breath.

“It’s an inventory…not mine…someone else’s inventory…!”
