Chapter 71

“Uh, what information do you want? I’ll answer anything.”

Jung-min stared blankly at the looter for a moment at the reaction that was so different from what he thought.

‘Well… he must have become a looter because he’s like this. Still, I thought there would be a bit of a backlash…’

Jeong-min asked the looter, thinking that he had saved five of them for no reason.

“First, tell me about the captain of this place.”

The pillager stuttered his story in response to Jeong-min’s question.

“The captain is the one who built this place. He is a man estimated to be in his 30s or 40s, and I heard that he belonged to a large guild in the past and then came out after destroying the guild and became a looter. Saying that they hate living while avoiding Shelter’s forces, the looters all said that they should join forces, and settled here.”

After the pillager stopped talking, he stared at Jung-min.

Jung-min raised his sword and placed it on the predator’s neck, growling.

“… is that all?”

“Joe, I’ll think about it a little more! Oh, let me tell you about the strength of the captain.

He has skin so tough that guns can’t go through it. It is said that it is because of its high stats, but I have seen it boast that it is a stat obtained by hunting a huge number of awakened people. I don’t know exactly what the skills are, but I know that I bought some skills using gold obtained by killing Awakeners. It is estimated that he has quite a few skills.”

“I don’t know how strong that guy is, but he said he went to the [Sungjin] shelter right now? How many troops can he go to war with a large shelter?”

The predator looked at Jung-min in surprise.

“Uh, how…”

“Stop talking nonsense and speak quickly.”

The plunderer hesitated for a moment, then hurriedly began to block when Jung-min raised his sword again.

“Bye, there aren’t many troops. Only about 40 troops have moved.”

“40 people? You went to play [Sungjin] with only that number?”

When Jung-min said it as if he didn’t understand, the pillager hurriedly continued.

“I didn’t go there to attack head-on. I don’t know if you know, but [Sungjin] Shelter is a shelter made by renovating a subway station similar to this place. It was thoroughly constructed and all the parts with railroad tracks were blocked, so it’s truly a fortress blessed by nature. It’s a place that can’t be said.”

“… By the way?”

“That… One of my co-workers had an accident and escaped from [Sungjin’s] shelter. He said that there was a door that was built to allow escape in case of emergency in the part of the railroad that was blocked by construction. He knew the existence of that door itself. There are very few people, so they don’t pay attention to the borders, and if you use that door, you can easily enter the [Sungjin] shelter…”

“Well….”

Hearing the predator’s words, Jung-min sighed heavily.

‘It’s a door that leads directly into the interior. It’s like our plan to get into Kirsch, right? Well, it’s such a simple plan that it’s embarrassing to even call it a plan…’

“Tell me exactly where the door is.”

“I-I don’t know that. Not only me, but all of my colleagues who are left here don’t know. The boss and [Sungjin], a colleague who escaped from the shelter. Only the two of us know. We’re just the low-end who do what the boss tells us to do.”

“When did you leave? You guys boss and combat unit. When did you leave this place?”

“Oh, it was yesterday morning.”

‘It was yesterday morning.. The first time we came here was around lunchtime. It’s not close to [Sungjin’s] shelter from here. Traveling must have taken up a lot of time. If so, it may not have worked yet. I hope it’s not too late…’

Jung-min told Leah what he had heard.

Leah said anxiously.

“It’s an ambiguous time. I don’t know if the shelter named [Sungjin] will be safe.”

“Yes. So I’m going to go quickly. Let’s start right away.”

Jung-min called to Moon-seok and Da-hee, who were tidying up.

Jeong-min said, roughly explaining what he had just heard.

“…so I think we should leave right now. [Daesung]’s rescue team will come in a little while. You can wait until then and move to [Daesung] with them.”

When Moonseok and Dahee nodded, Jungmin turned his head to look at the looter standing beside him.

“Then these guys…”

“I..”

Moonseok cautiously spoke to Jungmin.

“Boo, I have a favor.”

Jeongmin looked at Moonseok with questioning eyes.

“Could you please let us deal with these bastards?”

At Munseok’s words, the predator widened his eyes and glared at Munseok.

Moonseok glared at him and said clearly.

“Me and everyone in this room desperately needs it. It brings tears to my eyes when I think of what these guys have done to me. Please, please. Please, please, allow us to kill them. Please, please, please. .”

Jung-min grabbed the head of the predator who was glaring at Mun-seok and pressed it down.

The plunderer tried to hold on, but he could not stand it and naturally fell to the ground and was crushed.

Jung-min said while pressing the looter’s head.

“It doesn’t matter, but can you kill them? Their stats are quite high, so your attacks won’t work at all.”

“It’s okay. I found this while organizing tents.”

Moonseok took out a pistol from within his chest.

Seeing this, Jungmin nodded as if he understood.

“Oh, you’ve got a gun. Could you give me a minute?”

When Jung-min reached out his hand, Moon-seok handed him the gun.

Jung-min, who received the gun, fired the gun at the fallen looter’s leg.

Taang

“Keah!!”

The looter screamed as the bullet went through the leg.

Jung-min fired a couple more bullets, wounding both arms.

Without delay, the shot was fired at the arms and legs of the other four looters who had passed out.

taang taang

Multiple gunshots rang out, and the looters with gunshot wounds to their limbs all woke up and screamed.

Jung-min, who saw that, handed the gun back to Moon-seok and said,

“Fortunately, the bullets are at the level of getting stuck in the body. Well, if they were strong enough to block the bullets, they would have joined the battle group attacking [Sungjin] Shelter.”

While all the people who were surprised by the gunshot looked at Jung-min, Moon-seok received the gun with a bewildered face.

“How many guns have you found?”

“Seven pistols and five rifles. There are dozens of bullets separately.”

“Okay. You can use it to vent your anger on them. However, please return the gun you used like that to [Daesung]’s rescue team. You know?”

“Go, thank you!”

Munseok gave thanks with tears in his eyes.

Jung-min left Mun-seok alone and approached Leah.

“It seems that this place has been roughly resolved. Let’s quickly go to [Sungjin’s] shelter.”

Leah nodded at Jeongmin’s words.

As the two moved outside, the non-awakened who were tidying up bowed deeply and thanked them.

After the two came out, a loud gunshot rang out from below.

[Sungjin] Shelter.

While most of the shelters were made by reinforcing the basic buildings of schools or public institutions, it was the only large-scale shelter that was renovated through construction using the subway station as a base.

Shortly after dawn, exit 2 of Ucheon Station, the only entrance to the shelter.

The two men standing guard by the large front gate, Gu Yun-tae and Jung Ji-seok, were staring blankly at the front, waiting for their working hours to end.

It was while stretching and yawning that I noticed the two figures approaching.

In an instant, as if he had suddenly run away from sleep, Yoon-tae came to his senses and shouted at the two approaching people.

“Stop! Stop. If you come any further, we will consider you an enemy and attack you.”

The two approaching people, Jung-min and Leah, stopped in their seats.

Jeongmin spoke to Leah in a low voice.

“Fortunately, it doesn’t appear to have been attacked yet.”

Hearing Jung-min’s words, Leah was nodding as if she was happy, but Yoon-tae shouted again.

“This is [Sungjin’s] Shelter. What business did you visit?”

“We’re from [Daesung] Shelter. We’re here to inform you that there’s a group of marauders targeting [Sungjin] Shelter.”

Upon hearing Jung-min’s words, Yoon-tae and Ji-seok’s eyes widened.

“There’s a group of marauders targeting [Sungjin]? More than that, you said you came from [Daesung] Shelter?”

“Yes, that’s right. I’d like to meet and talk with Mr. Shelter. Is that possible?”

Yoon Tae shook his head and said to Jung Min.

“No. How can I believe that you are from [Daesung] just by listening to you?”

“Um.. I’m in a hurry.. Then please wait a moment.”

After Jung-min opened and closed the inventory gate, he told Leah to wait a moment.

Jung-min opened the base gate and went inside.

Yoon-tae and Ji-seok looked for Jung-min, who had disappeared with a puzzled look on their faces as they saw Leah who was left alone.

After a while, Jung-min opened the inventory gate and came out.

“I’ll be contacting you from the inside soon.”

Yoon-tae and Ji-seok, who were wondering what Jung-min was talking about, looked very surprised when they received a call from inside to let Jung-min and Leah in.

The large door opened, and Ji-seok guided the two of them into [Sungjin]’s shelter.

Following Ji-seok, Leah asked Jeong-min.

“Did you go to [Daesung] and make them contact you?”

Jeongmin nodded at Leah’s question.

“Yes, I told the shelter manager to call the satellite phone right away and let us go in. As expected, our shelter manager is very quick.”

Jung-min and Leah followed Ji-seok to the shelter manager’s room and examined the inside of [Sung-jin’s] shelter.

It was early in the morning, so few people could be seen inside.

‘It’s not that different from [Daesung]. But since it is underground, it will be easier to defend against enemies.”

After following Ji-seok for a while, we arrived at a small container box with a sign that read, “Shelter Director’s Room.”

Apparently, the space that used to be a subway canteen seemed to have been renovated.

‘It’s a pretty plain shelter chief’s room. Still, it’s where the representative of Shelter is, isn’t it too shabby?’

Ji-seok said as he knocked on the door of the shelter manager’s room, which was placed without a single guard.

“Chief Shelter, this is Jung Ji-seok. I brought [Daesung]’s guests.”

“Let me in”

A gruff voice came from inside.

Upon opening the door and entering, a man in his 50s stood up and greeted Jeongmin and Leah.

“Nice to meet you. I am Cha Joong-woo, the head of [Sungjin’s] shelter. The head of [Daesung]’s shelter urgently contacted me.

“Hello. I’m Jeongmin Choi from [Daesung]. This is Leah. I don’t speak Korean, so please understand.”

When Joong-woo heard Jung-min’s name, he made a surprised expression and guided the two of them to a chair.

“Choi Jeong-min… You’re the one who came to the [Phugang] Shelter before, right? Along with the current Shelter Director who came as the representative of [Daesung] at the time.”

“Do you know me? I remember that the person who came as the representative of [Sungjin] at that time wasn’t Mr. Shelter…”

“At that time, the person who went as the representative of [Sungjin] was my younger brother. Thanks to that, I was able to save his life. I thanked [Daesung], but I was worried because I couldn’t greet them separately. Now is your chance to say hello. Thank you so much for saving my brother’s life.”

Seeing Joong-woo bowing his head to Jung-min with his posture corrected, Jung-min also lowered his head and said.

“I think we need to talk about other urgent things rather than thank you. One hour is urgent.”

“What’s going on?”

Jeongmin let out a small sigh and said to Jungwoo.

“Now this shelter is dangerous.
