Puff*

So the reason Mervin let me go was that Father was mad at me again.

I got away after badly scolded by him. Thankfully, I'm not grounded.

I'm guessing it was Mervin that asked Father to scold me.

I can feel the uneasiness in his wording when Father was scolding me.

Better sleep, tomorrow it's another school day.

-----

The next morning, I woke up as early as Mervin again. It has finally become a habit to wake up early.

All because of Yulia, not that I'm blaming her. Instead, I should be thankful to her.

I'm still not sure if Gelvin succeeded or not, but since I'm already awake there's no harm going there early to meet Yulia.

After I ate my breakfast, I'm off to school.

As usual, when I arrived, I waited at the gate for Yulia, looking at the cars and bikes passed by to pass the time.

Ten minutes later, Yulia arrived with her mom again.

With the same thing happened over the past week, Yulia's mother didn't leave a misleading comment anymore. She just smiled and left after saying farewell to her precious daughter.

"Both of you have a good day at school!"

So far, I now understand why Yulia kept quiet of everything, not telling anyone of the bully that happened to herself.

Having such a kind and beautiful mother, as a daughter she obviously doesn't want to trouble her mother.

What I should commend is how she hid her emotions as a kid. Maybe, that's why she was more m.a.t.u.r.e than her peers.

When Yulia's Mom can't be seen, both of us walked together to our classroom.

Once and again, we didn't talk to each other, not like there's something to talk about either.

Yulia was focusing on the book on her hand the entire time which she brought out after her mother left.

I may have turned her into a nerd, without realizing it myself.

"Yulia, I think you shouldn't study every day. Sometimes, you need to rest."

"There's even eye bags under your eye now."

Not responding to my advice, Yulia continued to read the book on her handh

During that time I can imagine myself holding books everyday like the current her

"I understand. I'll stop reading but you read it for me instead."

...What?

"Um, sure."

As we chat while we walk, we arrived in the classroom already.

Yulia handed me her book and I started reading it for her.

Seeing the notes she made, made me think that the note I wrote was shabby.

Everything in the book was neat and arranged properly. There's a table to highlight the different functions and trees to simplify process.

This was probably made by her at home by viewing textbooks.

While reading it out loud, I noticed a few people looked at me awkwardly.

Who wouldn't? Seeing a guy blabbering nonsense which they don't understand.

It would be much normal if Yulia was awake, but currently, I looked like an idiot reading loudly, purposely disturb others. (Yulia was lying down on the desk of hers, pretending to be asleep while listening to Andy.)

Some probably realize that it was a future topic that has yet discussed by the teacher, but that would make it much worse.

'Did he actually study ahead of himself?'

As for Helna, I've been paying attention to her as soon as she walked in.

Apparently, I didn't notice anything weird out of her. She's currently chatting with Kervin, who looks exceptionally depressed.

It seems like Gelvin did a good job or else why would he look depressed.

"Please, Helna help me get the girls' attention back."

"I'm done with you. I've found a perfect guy for myself."

"What? Is it more money? I don't have much, my pocket money was reduced, but I can give you ten thousand a week."

"No thanks. I don't want your money anymore."

It's true though. She was getting paid less and less by Kervin. This time it's even lesser than before.

Helna shrugged and walked away from the dejected Kervin. Currently, she was searching for a guy to switch seats with her. She didn't want to continue sitting next to Kervin, she'll get harassed every day.

A pitiful boy thinking that Kervin was a nice guy that'll help his classmate in studying decided to swap seat with Helna.

Helna didn't bother telling him about Kervin, she quickly grabbed her bag and changed seat with the poor boy.

Right now, she still sitting together with a boy, but at least it's not as annoying as Kervin.

Ding Dong*

The school's bell ring, I stopped reading as a teacher will come sooner or later.

Since I'm the class representative, I prepare myself to greet the teacher as he came in.

It was a lot of hassle at first but I got used to it.

"Stand."

"Greet."

"Good Morning Teacher~"

The class went normal as usual.

After two hours have passed it's finally break-time.

Right now, I'm deciding whether to confront Gelvin and ask what happened or should I just stay with Yulia for the time being?

Seeing that Yulia was looking at me earnestly as though she was asking me to read the book for her again, I can't help but stay back.

While she eats, I was reading the "Story" book for her. I'm such a dutiful parent.

"Psst."

Someone was whispering, I looked at where the sound came from and found out it was Gelvin.

Right on time, I thought that you'll be afraid of me.

"I'll be right back."

Understanding that someone came to find me, Yulia nodded her head.

Heading to Gelvin, the first thing I asked was of course. "You lost the doc.u.ment didn't you?"

"Y-you already know? She told you?"

"No. She deliberately shows it off that I can't help but notice them."

"I see. Anyway, I came to find you today was because of the girls. Other than Helna, all of them seem to be attracted toward me as you said."

"Right now, they didn't follow me because I politely asked them to go and eat their breakfast first."

Figured as much. Of course, Helna wouldn't fall for you.

I recently discovered that she's odder than normal girls.

"So, did I accomplished the task you gave me?"

"Yes, but you broke the promise, so I won't be giving you money."

"Haha. I thought so."

"If you want the money, I want you to keep distracting the girls. The same reward will be given to you as long as you do a good job."

Those girls that followed Kervin wasn't obtained easily by him. He spent years of getting in touch with them until they finally do as what he said.

How stupid of him to not treat his girlfriends kindly.

"I understand. I'll do my best but only when I have time, is that fine?"

"Do what you think the best for yourself."

"They always comparing me with another guy called 'Kervin', it seems that the guy called 'Kervin' treats them badly. I think it'll be fine as long as I don't mistreat them."

Seeing him making a deduction, I realize that he's not in the elite class for nothing.

Once I finished talking with Gelvin, I went back to Yulia's side.

-----

[Kervin's POV]

It's alright. I'm fine being alone.

Andy has stopped bullying people, so I'm safe without the girls.

Eventually, they'll come and find me if I'm the first in the class again.

I should focus on studying instead of being bothered by something meaningless.

Currently, I'm sitting alone in the canteen.

Looking around my surroundings each of the people around was in a group of their own.

Only me that was sitting alone.

Someone was approaching my way.

I thought that it was Helna and her friends but it's not them.

"Hey, Aren't you a bit selfish, using this table even though you are alone?"

"Can you move? We want to eat."

It was some scary-looking boys that approached me, not Helna's group.

Currently, there is no one that can help me.

If the girls are with me, Helna's glare would have scared them away already.

Gritting my teeth in anger, I can only move as he to another place to eat.

I changed my mind. I need to get them back and apologize to them.

It's my fault for getting angry at them just because they didn't manage to do what I asked them.

After finished eating my food I went to find them.

Searching all over the place I still can't find them.

The canteen, field, my classroom, I went to search these three places but they're nowhere to be seen.

Usually, they would only hang out in those places.

It was only a slight voice but I can hear their familiar voice coming from upstairs.

Why would they be there?

Going upstairs was a definite "No" for me. There are people that are as scary as Andy there.

More importantly, they are sixth graders! They're all one year older than me.

I never was good with someone older than me. No matter what, I can't find myself looking at them face to face.

I shook my head, dropping the idea of going upstairs to find them.

It might have been my imagination too.

Why would they go upstairs?

The break-time was almost finished, I decided to give up and go to my class.

I should start preparing for the next class, in case I was asked by the teacher.
