Why do I have to suffer?

3 hours earlier, we have decided to abort the mission when Mikasa and Annie came to tell us that their team also did the same. So right now, we were on our way back to the Cadet Corps Base.

It seemed like the whole robbery thing was planned out weeks ago, when we weren't even aware that there was going to be an assessment. Or at least, that was what came out of the leader of the mob's mouth.

I suspected that the objective of this test—which we assumed was to test our patience—was just a cover for the real thing. How well we reacted to an unexpected situation? How well our teamwork was? Etc.

But everything was ruined... because of Eren.

I mean. Who the hell would expect one of us, a human, to become a titan. Worse, he nearly destroy us all if not for Thana-kun help.

AND WORSE! How the f**k do I present my journal to the instructor later? When literally, more than half of them are written by Thana-kun???

Taking another good look the most recent recordings so far, I see:

{Eren is so retarded that he turned into a titan.}

{He has no pp, for obvious reasons (Too small) LOL!}

{Athanatos is so cool! He singlehandedly took on the titan without a sweat.}

{Plus that titan was super abnormal. But it couldn't even hold a candle to Athanatos]

{I expect him to get at least 11/10.}

{Nah, don't be too bias. That's not what we do here. Right? We don't cheat nor do we accept bribery. Let's be fair here. Take 2 points away from me and give him 12/10.}

{Oh... Did I forgot to mention that Historia also handled all the bandits running away, while we all nearly pissed ourselves at the sight of a titan?}

{That just goes to show how cool Athanatos and his girlfriends are.}

I was too indignant by this whole situation that I have to deal with, I threw the notebook as hard as I can. But...

"Hey... What do you think you're doing?" Suddenly, an ominous voice sounded out behind me.

I immediately put the book back. ┬─┬ノ( º _ ºノ) And give it the most intensive care as if it was the most precious treasure in the world.

"T-t-there was dirt on the notebook. I'm sorry."

"Good. That's what I thought."

Now it's been 2 hours since we had arrived at the Cadet Corps Base...

At first, everyone welcomed us since we returned victoriously with the bandits in our hands. We gave them to the Military Police and they praised us for our effort. Our fellow cadet peers also came out and worship us like heroes. And even the sadist instructor gave us some plaudits for handling everything so well.

All was good until the bandits began to rambling something about Eren being a titan. Of course, no one believed them until Thanakun said, "It's real. I can testify." And for some f**king reason, they did believe him...

And so began a siege where we... are being surrounded by more than 500 people with guns, and 15 cannons pointing at us. And what's worse, the person who caused all of this is still flirting with his girlfriends.

Oh dear, mom and dad. I'm coming to see you now...

"ENEMIES OF MANKIND!! YOU DEVILS WHO HAVE INFILTRATED THE LANDS OF HUMANITY!! YOU AND YOUR CULT MEMBERS SHALL BE EXECUTED!!!" said a random instructor.

Oh, boi... How can we get out of this predicament? Even our sadist instructor isn't really on our side and is looking at us with fear.

"... Hey guys... we should probably do something about this." Jean finally said something. totally I agreed with him. There ain't no way we can get out of this alive unless we have a concrete plan.

"Yeah, guys... We need to get out shit together... or else we're gonna die." I said. My voice was shaking right now. No. My entire body was shivering in fear. We will really die if this keeps up.

"ANSWER ME, YOU WICKED FAKED HUMANS! OR I SHALL KILL YOU!" Oh shit... we gotta say something fast before they pull the trigger on us.

"Isn't that's your job Armin? You're smart. Convince them somehow." Suddenly Thana-kun said something so naturally, it's like he isn't aware of how absurd his words were.

Wtf do you mean I'm smart???? You do it! You have the highest scores out of all the cadets in the history of mankind!

"YOU!"

"I'm what? Are you insulting my intelligence? C'mon, fight me? Or would you rather try to convince them? Oh right... I should value your opinion first. What do you want to say?"

"I... I need hel—"

"Nice try. Now go up there and make a speech or shits gonna happen."

WTF??? Urgh... I can't even argue with him unless I want to die. But he has a point... sooner or later we will have to show them the truth. It's now or never. Strangely though... because of his words, I'm really not that afraid anymore.

Then Eren came up to me and spoke encouraging words, "Armin... he's right. You're the best speaker out of all us he—"

"No. I'm better" Of course... he would interrupt our conversation.

"*Ahem*. My point is Armin. We trust you. We all do. If the worst comes to the worst, I will become a titan and save us all..."

"... Guys..." My eyes were tearing up. I didn't realize I had such trustworthy friends...

Right. I won't fail them. I will definitely convince them Eren is a valuable asset to human life!

Strengthening my resolve, I slowly marched my way up in front of the big audience. I was going to make the best speech in my life.

"Eren is a valuable resource to humanity..... He holds the key to the biggest question..... His combat prowess is extremely useful for the Survey Corps..... His strength is unrivaled and can probably even surpass the Armor Titan..... And by my heart, I swear my utmost loyalty to the king! We, the trainees of the 104th Cadet Corps Southern Division shall never betray mankind." And to end the speech, I saluted with all my heart and soul.

*Huff*, *huff*, I have done all I can. I have used up all my cards with none left unused. I spoke with charisma. I convinced with logic and reasons. And most of all, I make sure to have them see Eren as an ally, not an enemy.

Silence descended upon the field. Even after all I said, still about half of them are unsure about my claims. There are just too many doubts that can't be answered by words alone. But what can I do? It's not like I can just have Eren transformed right now. That could spell the end of us.

Looking at the face of the crazy instructor, I can see fear crept up onto his face.

I have a bad feeling about this... That guy hasn't listened to any of my words at all. This isn't good...

"DON'T LISTEN TO THE WORDS OF THESE HERETICS! On my mark, shoot them! 3, 2—"

Then a miracle happened.

"Whoever shoots me is gay!!" Someone shouted out loud. It was Athanatos, who was still being laid back just a while ago.

Everyone turned to look at Athanatos, who really just said that out loud. They were speechless at what just happened.

F**k!! We're doomed!!! Haizz. Mommy, Daddy, Here I come

And strangely, for some reason, all the instructors went into a daze. They looked like cat got their tongues or something. All but Keith Shadis, who has quite the complicated look on his face. He was the only one that hesitated to kill us. It seemed that is really the case since he suddenly walked up.

"Hey... look at these kids. Can you really shoot these children? Whose future is only meant to benefit mankind? Everyone! Put the guns down. We will investigate this later! For now. Quarantine Eren in a separate cell. We will make the final decision at the court-martial! Dismiss!"

That worked? Wtf? Then what's the point of me trying so hard this entire time? When everything can be solved by just a f**king sentence from Thana-kun? How is life so unfair? Why is it so unfair?

*Phew* At least we managed to survive right now.

I wonder how things will go from now on. For the better or worst, our lives won't have been the same anymore.
