That was exactly what happened in both the original and the current world that Gideon resided in.

Prior to the winter ball, Aleia is a part of Damien's division of soldiers. Originally she was under Amias' Division but due to previous mistakes, Luciel transferred a portion of his men to Damien. Aleia was a part of this, well... she pretended to be a part of it.

She was left for dead once by her team and Matthew became her saving grace. He showed her the powers that she was actually capable of and with this, she joined the enemies. Matthew had instructed her to injure herself and pretend to be locked up in one of their camps, help a few "prisoners" escape, and return to the capital a hero.

His plans went smoothly and Aleia was welcomed back with open arms and no suspicions. She was even given the title of Team Captain. That being said, she now had the authority to choose who she wanted under her team. She picked out the spies that came with her, saying that she grew close to them. Everything was going precisely as planned.

But of course, Aleia also had her own desires. She desired the prince ever since she became a soldier. But the prince never looked at anyone to her disdain.

"I want him to beg for me." She tells Matthew and he laughed.

He hated that bastard since it was an eyesore to him. But he knew how much Luciel cherished the child and so he granted her wish.

"You need to be able to be in close contact with him to put this charm on him. After that, recite this spell" He showed her exactly what kind of spell it was. Although she already knew these kinds of spells, she did not have enough powers for them.

"I'll lend you some of my powers, but you have to make sure that the others would not be noticed while they set up arrays"

"I promise you, my lord" Aleia tells him, eyes full of determination.

She did her best to conceal the cheeky grin she wanted to show. Oh... Just thinking of how Kaiden will be in pain with each passing second of not being able to touch her. It makes her body shiver in excitement.

When the date of the ball finally arrived, her team went to work. She may have been stepping in random places, but she was actually dropping the talismans she had hidden. The talismans would disappear without a trace but with a snap of her fingers, they will all activate. Her team switched with the staff originally in charge of the door by means of persuasion.

"You look like you're tired, don't worry I can take it from here" One of her members tell the staff.

"Greed is a Demon's weakness" That is what everyone says.

Oh, how lucky was she? The Prince himself took the initiative to dance with her. And the fact that she was his partner for his first dance of tonight meant that he was interested in her right?

Wrong.

He may have been smiling at her, but to her that smile was fake. And the fact she was a succubus herself, she had not felt one bit of attraction from him. He was doing this for shows. This pissed her off that she finished tracing the spell on his body. Now all she needed to do was activate the spell.

The Dance was finished and as he was escorting her, she whispered the incantation to him.

"What?" Kaiden was dumbfounded by the set of words she blurted out of nowhere.

"You misheard me? I was asking if you wanted to take me somewhere else"

"Oh. I'm sorry, but I'm not interested" Kaiden replies coldly and pulled his arm away from her grasp before turning away to look for someone.

Aleia frowned and snapped her finger that causing the lights to die down. The arrays were activated and now the monsters started pouring in. Now the next part of her plan was for her to get attacked by a monster. Regardless if Kaiden refused her just now, the spell had already been activated. He wouldn't refuse her if she called out for him.

Chaos erupted and a monster indeed targeted her. She ran around and yelled out to Kaiden;

"Save me, my prince!" but someone else also yelled out.

"HELP ME! ANYONE PLEASE!" 

Instead of going to her, Kaiden ran to someone else on the other side of the room. She could have sworn that Kaiden would still go to her and not to another man. Especially when he's charmed unless...

"This fucking faggot..." she muttered and tried to defend herself from the monster.

Who would have thought "pure love" still existed in this twisted world?

Aleia did not have a weapon at hand and only relied on her strength and agility but that was not enough. Soon another monster joined in the fun and its fangs managed to dig into her leg.

"ARGH!" She screamed in pain and she tried to kick the monster off but another one managed to pounce on her and bit her arm. She wailed around in pain using her free limbs but this brought the attention of more monsters to go to her.

How did it end up like this?

Everything was going according to plan...

Aleia tried her hardest to fight back against the monsters but they simply overpowered her. Slowly she was torn into pieces until she was no longer identifiable. The other spies within the guests watched her get eaten alive by their own monsters since she did remove the protective charm placed on her by Matthew. That was the only thing that kept those things from attacking them. One spy secretly reports it back to Matthew.

The moment he heard of the news, he only laughed. The other Angels that he had been talking to also heard of the report.

"Rapeh, have you heard of this saying? A Demon's weakness is its greed" Matthew asks his second-in-command.

"I have heard it but I never fully understood it until now" Rapeh replies.

"Well, who cares if that demon dies."

"But they also reported that the plan failed-"

"Did it really?" Matthew looks at Rapeh with wide eyes, almost psychotic.

"I- Could my lord relay the report so I may understand better?" Rapeh was sweating bullets, he never meant to question Matthew.

"I don't care if a few of my pets would die. But we now caused the "peace treaty" between the three races to falter. As well as the fact that Luciel's men would start to suspect one another"

"So you're trying to break them up from the inside" Rapeh nods in understanding what Matthew was thinking.

"This is why you're my favorite" Matthew caressed Rapeh's cheeks with a smile.

Rapeh smiled back at him and Matthew's smile immediately disappeared. His expression was changed with one that of revulsion as he slapped Rapeh. The subordinate accepted this and his cheeks were tinted red as his expression turned into a lewd one.

"Get out" Matthew shouted at him.

"Y-yes" Rapeh bowed and disappeared from his sight.

Matthew immediately wiped his hands clean. He knew full well how Rapeh felt towards him.

"Disgusting..." he mumbled to himself. But that slap would motivate that pervert to work harder. Either way, it is still good to stimulate that fellow to keep his loyalty intact. Just keep the fellow around until he can manage without him.

"One day, I'll get rid of you all and everyone else will realize how filthy this world is"
