I Transmigrated as the Cannon Fodder Villain

A day passed and Gideon once again spent the night in this place. He now knows Kaiden's routine in the morning but it will take a while before he gets used to Kaiden suddenly just appearing out of nowhere without his shirt.

"Would it bother you if you wore a shirt?"

"If I wore one right now, it'll get soaked" Kaiden replies and Gideon just rolled his eyes. He got off the bed and grabbed his slippers.

"Where are you heading this early?"

"I just want to check up on Stephen"

"The snow is thicker now you'll freeze up if you go out right now" Kaiden points to his window.

The glass had frost on it and there were some snow patches on the windowsill.

It always made Gideon wonder how he's not freezing right now despite wearing a few layers. An explanation for it was that Kaiden had really good control of his fire powers that he is practically a walking furnace. That may also explain the suffering Kaiden had to go through when he woke up to Gideon snuggling behind him. He managed to get out of bed without waking up Gideon.

'It'll be weird for me to bring it up and It'll be embarrassing for him' he thought to himself as he suppressed the urge to gush about that experience. When he saw Gideon earlier it was as if he was looking at a sleeping cat with how he clutched onto Kaiden's shirt with one of his hands.

"Oh ok" Gideon frowned and instead walked towards Kaiden.

"Can I see what you're doing?"

"Yeah but you'll get bored" Kaiden laid out the papers on the table. Gideon stood next to him and bent down to look at the papers.

It was import and export transactions from different regions, some cities asking for more budget, other divisions asking for more manpower due to rebellions, and a lot of other things. How can someone as young as Kaiden do these kinds of work? Seeing Gideon's perplexed expression made Kaiden chuckle.

"I told you it's boring" Kaiden repeats and Gideon shook his head.

"More like complicated. Why are you dealing with these already?"

"These don't even reach half of what Arda reads through weekly. They gave me a mix of easy and extremely complicated tasks to see if I'm fit to take over Father"

With how much Luciel is trying to incorporate his son into every meeting and event, some would speculate that he's planning on abdicating the throne. The only thing stopping him from doing so is the fact Matthew is still out there plotting revenge.

And besides that, it's not like Kaiden will accept the position. As far they're concerned, Kaiden never showed interest in this. You can say that he'd prefer to live normally like he did in the past but that's impossible due to his circumstances.

Hearing about Arda's workload made Gideon shudder and sent a prayer for Arda. How is she still sane especially when the nobles and prince is like this?

"Why are you suddenly quiet?"

"I was sending prayers to her"

"Arda would rather have a human sacrifice sent to her you know?"

"Human what now?"

"You know how she has to use her life source for her powers right?"

Gideon did remember that Arda would not use her powers since everyone would scold her for doing so. And that reason being was the fact that the consequence of using her powers was that her life source gets drained with every use.

"Back then she didn't have to worry about it since there were those who worshipped her as if she was God. They would offer her their life and she'd protect them in return. But Matthew and company killed off her followers. I'm not really sure why she's sticking around father but that's what I know so far"

"Should I even know this?" Gideon asked in a low voice. All of it sounded like classified information since not everyone knew the backgrounds of the Nobles. If one knew then it'll be easy for them to know their weaknesses.

"It's fine. Another thing I kind of theorize is that Arda doesn't like using humans for her powers as well so a human sacrifice can also piss her off" Kaiden grinned mischievously and Gideon began to shake his head profusely.

'Nope! definitely nope! And it's not like I'll plan on killing anyone in the near future' Gideon panicked in his head.

"I'm just joking" Kaiden moved a few of the papers and there were memo notes underneath them. He took a hold of it and showed it to Gideon. He thought that it might help with Gideon's situation.

Arda passed on the memo Kassandra had for Gideon since he was the next of kin of Stephen and Theodora. The note states that Theodora shall be returning today by lunch and that Gideon should meet up with Kassandra.

"This..." Gideon glanced at the note a few more times and Kaiden shrugged.

"She'll probably talk about Stephen's current condition with you and Theodora. Just wait for your aunt to come back before heading to Kassandra"

Kaiden picks up his pen and scribbled something on one of the papers. That scribble was actually his decision to send soldiers to the eastern region to aid in the rebellions there. As well as adding on an additional note that a trusted member or perhaps a noble themselves should attend because of the latest controversy of moles within their faction.

"I'll do that but Kaiden?"

"Hmm?"

Since Gideon did work in his past life in an office, the most familiar to him was the import and export reports. It's been a while since he did this sort of work but it's like muscle memory for him. Gideon pointed at a specific importation of vegetables from the north.

"These aren't in season nor are they from that region but how come they got imported from there?" Gideon knew how to cook a little so he would know the types of vegetables and which regions they come from.

'That and the fact most of the things here are also in my old life. The author of this world is really lazy to think of a new species' he roasted the author in his thought process.

"I see.." Kaiden was actually impressed Gideon had an idea on these.

"What about these?" Kaiden handed him another paper that came from the West Region.

Gideon looked at them and then asked for the old reports as well. Kaiden complied and handed him those as well.

"There are irregularities with the encoding, it seems like there may have been smuggling involved" Gideon wondered where some of the funds went as well as why did the capital pay so much for something that isn't worth that value?

Kaiden grinned and used his powers to grab a seat for Gideon.

"I wouldn't have seen that... would you help me?"

"What happened? Where's Amias?" Kassandra asks Azazel who was the only one who appeared.

"I only passed by him earlier and told him to visit Yohann. He said okay and went off somewhere" Azazel scratched his head in frustration since he didn't totally understand what was wrong with Amias lately.

"And Damien already left last night so we wouldn't know where that guy went"

"Exactly"

"Have you asked Luciel?"

"No, and I'm not really in the mood to get more workload" it may be a curse of Azazel to get more work whenever he visits Luciel.

"Neither do I" Ah so it seems like Azazel isn't the only one.

It may be the reason why Arda has a lot of work. The two also sent their prayers to her.

"So what now?" Kassandra asks Azazel and he frowned.

He's supposed to be one of the smartest here and yet he feels a little bit stupid. But suddenly an idea popped up in his head.

"We can ask Yohann?"

"We're looking for Amias because we need to bring him to Yohann and you want to ask him where Amias is? Are you sure you didn't hit your head during the incident?" Kassandra poked Azazel's forehead and the guy brushed off her hand.

"They were friends right and somehow Yohann managed to bring Amias back then when the guy was upset"

"True...We can't be sure if Yohann remembers but we can try" Kassandra covered her mouth to think about it and then she walked back into Yohann's room.

"Yohann, Azazel is here but we don't know where Amias went"

Yohann waved at Azazel before grabbing his notes and replying to his sister.

"Is he upset again?"

"I think so" Azazel answers and Yohann pondered for a moment.

He was trying to remember the places where Amias would usually go but some felt fuzzy. He lifted his pen and wrote a few places. They were all mostly common places that a Noble wouldn't go to. 

"Never took Amias to be the guy to go to these places"

"Well, he did have to sleep with people for his powers to work properly"

Yohann frowned hearing his sister's statement. Although it was true that he needed to do that, Amias didn't go to these places just to look for hook-ups.

"Amias isn't that kind of guy" he writes and Kassandra felt a little bit guilty.

"I'm sorry Yohann" She says as she goes next to him to hug him. Yohann just lets her hug him and he looks at Azazel.

"I'll look for Amias" Azazel says to the two and Kassandra suddenly spoke.

"No, let me do it instead"
