Idol: A Romance Fiction

Chapter 5 - CHAPTER FOUR

Coming up with a choreography and memorising a song was a little harder than what he expected. But she finally did it. She was singing an English song from her past life called Stone Cold (by Demi Lovato)

In the past, she used to sing this song whenever she felt stressed out and sad and it was a very special song for her. That, and if sang properly it would allow her to clearly display her talent in singing. She has been practising the high notes and performing core exercises all week so she was really confident about this.

And as for her dance, she took a song from this world and mixed various choreographies from her past world to accommodate the song. She was glad that the songs in this world were not different from songs in the other world. To be frank, this world confused her, initially sh,e thought that her past world and this world are very different but they're not. There are many songs from the past world which were the same as the songs in this world, for example To,uch by NCT from her original world was here as well, just the bands were different.

Initially s,he thought that maybe the singers in either world were reincarnated or transmigrated like her but that wasn't the case at all. She researched it a bit and came to a conclusion. This was not a different world at all, it was the parallel world with specific differences but not all that many of them.

For example, although Korean had a new name, English and Hindi didn't. They were still called English and Hindi. Or, the songs for that matter. Touch wasn't the only song here present in this world, songs like La Vie En Rose by Louis Armstrong and Star Blossom by Sejeong and Doyoung were present here too.

Eventually, Sooyoung decided to stop thinking about it and just continue with her life in this world. Back to the topic at hand, her choreography consisted of a mixture of hip-hop and freestyle. She took ideas from her own choreography in the past and incorporated them into a song from this world called Go by a band called KING. Sooyoung had no intentions of overthinking the fact that it was the same song as NCT DREAM's.

But she was very proud of her choreography, it was vastly different from the original choreography because she wanted to add her own personal touch to it.

Looking at the end result, Sooyoung genuinely felt like the seven days of torturous practice, exercises and face/hair masks were worth it. Her song and choreography were perfected, her skin had never looked more fresh and soft and her hair went from the frizzy mess to smooth long and fruity smelling.

She hasn't felt this way in a long long time. Exhausted but at the same time satisfied with herself. It was a good feeling to have again.

Finally, it was THE DAY. The first day of the audition where she had to sing. She had prepared everything. She went to the agency two hours earlier in order to prevent getting late and put on her mask to ensure that no one sees her face and sat in the seat that was assigned to her.

All the people auditioning received numbers and were called in accordingly. There were at least 300 people who had come to audition and there were 15 people before Sooyoung's number.

"This stuff is incredibly tedious in my eyes if I'm being very honest. Obviously, they will take me." A voice rang in Sooyoung's ears despite causing her to turn around and land her gaze on the girl on the other side of the bench talking to a couple of women. Knowing exactly what kind of a woman that was Sooyoung ignored it completely and focused on internally saying out the lyrics.

Apparently, the woman went before her, as she passed Sooyoung her eyes landed on the mask-clad woman who had put her head down in 'fear' and she smirked victoriously. In her eyes, she had already won. After all, singing was her forte and no one can beat her in that.

Sooyoung had not noticed that woman's gaze and continued to wait for her turn. When her number was called she swiftly took off her mask and went inside the room where the audition was supposed to take place.

There were three judges seated there. These judges will be judging tomorrow as well. Jung Chaeyoung the dance instructor, Kirisaki Misaki the music instructor, and finally the Executive Director Of Éclat, Song Hyeri.

"Name your name and the title of the song you'll be singing." Song Hyeri's monotonous voice rang out in the room everything else being completely silent.

Sooyoung took a deep breath and looked her right in the eye, "Good morning, my name is Kang Sooyoung and I will be singing Stone Cold by D.L."

Stone cold, stone cold

You see me standing, but I'm dying on the floor

Stone cold, stone cold

Maybe if I don't cry, I won't feel any more

Stone cold, baby

God knows I tried to feel

Happy for you

Know that I am, even if I

Can't understand, I'll take the pain

Give me the truth, me and my heart

We'll make it through

If happy is her, I'm happy for you

Stone cold, stone cold

You're dancing with her, while I'm staring at my phone

Stone cold, stone cold

I was your amber, but now she's your shade of gold

Stone cold, baby

God knows I tried to feel

Happy for you

Know that I am, even if I

Can't understand, I'll take the pain

Give me the truth, me and my heart

We'll make it through

If happy is her, I'm happy for you

Don't wanna be stone cold, stone

I wish I could mean this but here's my goodbye

Oh, I'm happy for you

Know that I am, even if I

Can't understand

If happy is her, if happy is her

I'm happy for you

Unbeknownst to her, those three weren't the only judges present. The mirror behind the three physically present judges was a one-way mirror behind which two people were seated, one a gorgeous woman who looked like she was in her late twenties but was actually in her forties and a man who was in his early twenties and whose presence seemed to be intimidating but in front of the woman he turned into a 10-year-old boy.

"So Elijah, what do you think so far?" The woman's melodious voice rang in the room causing the man to turn to her.

"It is your company, Aunt Lana. I will be taking my leave now." The man curtly said before getting up to leave. He took one last glance at the girl behind the mirror before leaving. Sooyoung didn't know him at all but now he knew her and he couldn't get her or her powerful voice out of his mind.
