If You Want Me, Kill For Me

Chapter 2 - You Must Become Heartless to Damage Someone

Before I start the chapter, I just want to say HOLY CRAP! I checked up on the stats for my book and more than 1000 views for one chapter that has been up for only a couple of hours? That's amazing! I want to thank everyone who was taken the time out of their day, whether to read the last chapter or to just check it out by announcing my update schedule. I will update at least twice a week with 1-2 chapters being posted up. Thank you so much and have a great day my lovelies!

12 years later

Akari's mother handed Akari a small box that was wrapped up.

"Happy 15th birthday sweetie." Akari took the box and gave her a hug. Even while they were living off on unemployment, Hiramashi still took the time to go out and buy or create something for her birthday. Her gifts always were always thoughtful, but her being there with Akari was something that she would always hold closer to her heart than even the most expensive gift.

"Mom, I keep telling you, I don't need a gift for my birthday. Just you being there for me is more than enough." Hiramashi let out a laugh as she smiled at her.

"Sweetie, even if I die, I will never leave you. I wil love you until the day I die. Now open it up." A lump appeared in Akari's throat as she thought about her mother dying. She quickly shook her head and unwrapped the present, her eyes shining as she looked into the box. It was a simple silver chain necklace with a small charm. The charm was a broken seashell. Her eyes welled up with tears when she saw that my name was written on it.

"You still have this after all these years?"

"Of course sweetheart. I remember that day when we went to the beach like it was yesterday. You were so excited when you saw it that you called it a diamond and ran over to me. You said it was a gift sent by a water fairy as a sign of good luck and love. Then you asked me for a marker to write your name because you said it was so you could keep that good luck and love forever." Akari laughed with her and gave her a kiss on the cheek. She clasped the necklace around her neck and held the small charm in her fist. Hiramashi and Akariwatched movies until late afternoon when Hiramashi felt tired and went to go sleep. Akari though about mother's and her hard life and what she could do to ease her burden. She thought up an idea and went online to search for jobs with a high salary. She found a job and they asked to meet her at the park. She got dressed and went down to meet them.

"Are you Akari Hijata?" A man asked. He looked like he was in his mid twenties.

"Yes."

"I am Kaito Arata. You have come looking for a job?"

"Yes Mr. Arata. I am willing to do anything if it means getting paid."

"Sign these papers and I will tell you more details about your job." She quickly signed the papers after skimming through them and handed them back. He confirms her signature before placing a gun in her hand. Akari stared at it dumbfounded.

"Welcome, Akari, to the Red Winter group. Your job is to assasinate certain people. You are not allowed the tell anyone about this and everything is confidential. Got it?"

"Wh-what? You- you guys are murderers?"

"Listen, we take revenge on people who are douches and make sure they get what they deserve. For example, Sora Doi. He beat his mother after he learned she had heart cancer and take some p.l.e.a.s.u.r.e in dominating women. Your job is to find him and kill him with that gun. Make sure you aren't caught. We'll be sending someone over to pick you up." Akari got angry when she heard he beat up his mother. She put the gun in the small backpack she was wearing and nodded at him.

"That all?"

"One more thing. You must become heartless to damage someone. Since your background is rough, I expect that you will quickly adapt to this."

"How do you know everything about me?"

"That will be explained after you finish your mission. Tomorrrow, at 10:30 pm, expect for someone to come pick you up."

"How much money?"

"1.5 million yen if you do the job quickly, efficiently, leave no tracks, and is not caught." My eyes widen before I nod in determination.

"I will do it."

"Good, now go home, get some rest, and enjoy your last few hours of bloodless hands. That's the only time to prepare your sanity of killing someone." She walk home and enter the house, taking a shower and getting ready for bed.

'Hey, one evil person gone is worth it for the money to pay for the hospital fee. And killing someone isn't a big deal. Dad basically killed us when he left and withdrew support. This is no different.' Akari thought as she fell asleep.

Little did she know that being a murdere would have a larger impact on her life than she initially thought.
