85  Time Made Human Mature

Soon, everyone finally gathered together and we could begin the flower viewing. As I listened to everyone enjoying a pleasant conversation together, I discreetly smacked my lips at the feast presented before us.

Then, somehow, Frederick and I began to talk about the matter that happened the day before yesterday, causing Muriel’s face to pale when she heard it. It seemed she was recalling the events back then when we were still little children.

‘Truly unforgivable,’ was what Richard said when I told him, complete with a gloomy smile on his face. He seemed to be really pissed off with that.

However, everyone else looked puzzled since they only just heart about the incident that happened years ago now. Although, amongst those who saw the incident with their own eyes, only Katrina showed a complicated expression on her face. Still, it surprised me a bit when she came to join in our conversation.

“But it doesn’t mean that this girl is the same person as the one who hurt Theodore in the past, right? Well, it doesn’t change the fact that she’s indeed a problematic person.”

“Of course~. There’s no problem if she got stranded to the boys’ dorm by accident, but the problem is after tha~t.”

However, Luke merely pushed up his glasses and labelled the ‘Mad Dog’ as a dangerous being. I myself agreed with the first part of Oriana’s words, but really, rampaging against the security themselves were a problem in and of itself.

Hmm? Luke’s glasses? Oh, perhaps due to reading books so often, the guy started to wear it once we advanced to the mid-grade. Yet, despite that, he didn’t have the four-eyed nerd atmosphere around him. Instead, he looked more like a cool and intellectual character.

Furthermore, as if to respond to his changes, Oriana also changed and showed an atmosphere that showcased her gentle and intellectual beauty to match Luke’s own image. Although I was sure that no one would have expected that behind that gentle looking beauty and intelligent lay a person able to literally spew barbed remarks once she got pissed off enough.

The two of them truly got along really well with each other to the point that they worked together to create accessories-type magic tools. They told me it was because they wanted to spread the magic tools they created that was already certified so that no one would suffer from magic tools that originated from demon race anymore. Truly, this couple were very nice.

The start of their cooperation seemed to be symbolized by that brooch that was shining in Oriana’s pocket. It appeared to be a present from Luke, thus Oriana never forgot to wear it ever since it was given to her.

“The matter of rampaging against the security aside, swearing at them has shown that there was indeed a problem in her personality.”

“Undermeaning aside, she literally kicked and punched the security. It was obviously her fault, yet… the fact that she doesn’t realize that is a problem in and of itself.”

The tall combi, Vincent and Ramona, also agreed with Luke and Oriana. Honestly, they were both so tall. Vince, even though he was also a freshman like us, was already over 190 cm tall. Ramona also didn’t lose out. She was also the tallest amongst the girls with height over 170 cm tall. Although she was still shorter than me, I was really afraid that her height would surpass mine in the next three years. ARGH!

Anyway, both of them were the embodiment of sporty pair with Vince’s height and solid build coupled with Ramona’s healthy and energetic stereotype. As a side note, her bust growth was also the most extreme among the girls.

I didn’t think I could ever win against these two in sword craft. Just from the look of them… Yeah, impossible.

“Indeed. The church does warn us about her personality, doesn’t it? Still, I’ve been wondering why they assign us to look after such a dangerous person? Shouldn’t she been kept away from us instead?”

“But… that girl should have six attributes, right? Although her ability seems to fall short compared to Katrina-sama, they may have judged that she still need to be observed further and her observer should, at the very least, have a few attributes too….”

“If that’s the case, they should have just send her to Magic Tool Research Institute.”

The one who voiced his displeasure clearly was Simeon. That guy, despite remaining an ephemeral hunk, constantly spewed barbed remarks whenever he could unlike Oriana who only did that when she was incensed.

Beside him, Sonia was trying to guess the reason why we should take care of said problematic girl. If one only looked at the surface, Sonia looked like a mysterious beauty. However, I heard that she had a fatal flaw to her. According to rumour, when she tried to make others understand something, she always used extremely poor choice of words for some reason. Then again, it had nothing to do with me, plus there was also Simeon by her side. So, she would at least kept her lips shut tight.

In that regards, the rebellious Simeon and the faithful Sonia was in fact a good match for each other.

Anyhow, I agreed with Simeon in this regard. Why on earth did the church ask us to look after that problem child? Couldn’t they find anyone else with more free time?

“I understand, but since she has entered the academy, someone still have to take the duty to observe her. Although I myself am also unwilling to do this, we really have no choice in this regard. I mean, dispatching personnel from the church, research facility, or mage department is quite a hassle after all. Moreover, I agree with Miss Sonia. If that girl really have six attributes, then we, who are blessed with multiple attributes as well, are the best candidate as her observer.”

“Agreed. It’s a good thing if she can control her six attributes properly, but there’s still the matter of her magical power running amok. We’re going to have a huge problem if that happen, so better be prepared than be sorry.”

Rex and Shelly gave their input. Honestly, despite the fact that Rex often scolded me, it was only the manifestation of his practical ability and personality. Just as his appearance suggested, he was an overly serious person who could brilliantly and logically dealt with any kind of situation with cool face.

Really, even when he got pissed off cause of the bullying case during our middle grade, he still tried to act as an impartial arbiter for the two parties. At any rate, watching him explaining the definition of ‘bad’ to the kids who bullied Muriel yet insisted she was the one at fault… Yeah, I gave him a thumb up for that.

Meanwhile, the diligent Shelly was a cool, black haired beauty. And in some places, she was even more formal than Rex himself. However, her formality was because her conducts and speech were due to her being too considerate of other party. In short, she was a meddling type of person.

I mean, she forwarded a suggestion to me to place a net under the catwalk of my cat cafe for the cats’ safety. Then, when I tried to explain to her that the cats were safe and sound since the width of the catwalk was more than safe enough, and to put a net in would do more harm instead, she didn’t believe me and tried to implement her idea by force.

She only backed down after she saw the cat spinning in the air as they fell from the catwalk and landed safely on the ground, the sight of them climbing up to the beam in a flash using the catwalk, and the sight of their leg getting tangled by the net. She was honestly a good girl if you can just make her understand. However, the effort to make her understand was truly a pain in the ass.

“What do you think about this matter, Katrina-sama?”

“Eh? Uhm, it can’t be helped I think.”

I rarely saw Katrina getting flustered like this. She was even looking at the horizon while we were having this conversation…. Are you alright???

Her flustered state aside, Katrina had truly grown up into a real beauty. Although at a glance she did look like a beautiful but stiff lady, her overflowing gentle nature softened people’s first impression about her. Well, I suppose it was only natural. She was the Saint-sama after all.

“The fact that she did not enter the academy up until now despite having six attributes show that she’s a scholarship student, right? Perhaps that girl simply has yet to get used to this atmosphere, right? If possible, I want to get along with her.”

“Sorry, I disagree.”

Suddenly, someone opposed Katrina’s optimistic opinion.

“I’ll keep her under watch to see if there’s something problematic about her, but I refuse to get close to her. Moreover, she’s from a baron household, right? It’ll be problematic if people around us misunderstood something if they sees us giving her special treatment. Sorry, but please spare me from the same trouble that happen when we’re in mid-grade. Those jealous spectators won’t have any idea about that scholarship student’s special ability or our situation regarding her after all, will they?”

“Well, it’s not like we can tell them, ri~ght?” Oriana agreed.

“If that’s the case, everyone should say their opinion. Let’s make an appeal to the student council to raise this issue to the teacher and the temple.”

Katrina raised such proposal.

“We have never encountered this kind of situation. Although we’ve examined that person, it’s just her personality is a… problem. Thus, if we’ve to observe her, we have to do it in a way that will prevent unwanted misunderstanding. Really, for now, let’s do our best to not get any closer to her outside the lesson. Otherwise, we might rob her the chance of getting normal female friends around her age.”

“… I wonder about tha~t… Ahahaha.”

Katrina laughed weakly. I wondered why, but her laugh just now felt very empty….

“That goes for you guys, too,” Rex said to our attendants, completely ignoring Katrina’s weird reaction.

“Of course! Leave it to me! If it’s for Rex-sama, I’ll even let that girl see the hell on earth. I’m gonna train her so thoroughly thatshe won’t even think about coming closer to Rex-sama or let her magical power run w— A~RGH! That hurt you know, Abel-san?!”

When Sadias, one of Rex’s attendant struck his chest, spoke with a face brimming with confidence, the other attendant, Abel, pulled him away by his ear.

Ouch. Are you okay, Sadias-san?

“Sorry for the disturbance. In short, we have to be very careful when we act around that girl. That should be enough, right, Frederick-sama?”

“Yeah, that’ll be for the best. The student council is also reluctant to take care of that troublesome person, but well, we’ve no choice. Since this is the start of the school year, there should be no member of student council from the 1st year and class committee yet, right? The student council and the teacher is actually short-staffed too right now. That’s why, please look after that girl and crush any potential problem before it happen. Naturally, we’re going to help you guys behind the scene. If she turn out to be an extremely troublesome existence, you may push forward a petition to kick her out from this academy,” Frederick explained after he heard Rex’s agreement on our behalf.

Still, surely, it might take some time for her to fix her attitude. So, this would be an uphill battle for us… ha~.

“But… but we can’t just dismiss her without even speaking to her even once, right? I mean, her strange behaviour might simply be because she has yet to get used to the style of the city.”

“— That might be just wishful thinking, though,” Frederick muttered under his breath, causing everyone else to let out dry laughter.

“May I ask for your approval in this regard too, Your Highness Elliot?”

Upon hearing Frederick’s question, Elliot, who so far was listening to everyone’s words in silence up until now, gave a nod.

“I have no objection if everyone feels the same way,” He said, giving his stamp of approval.

Elliot had really became even more handsome as he grew up. His good looks was so good to the point that it felt divine instead. Anyone who saw him right now would instantly recognize him as the crown prince. That was just how attractive he had become.

Moreover, now he was using the polite ‘I’ instead of the slightly boyish and informal ‘I’, which further signified his mental growth. Although, to me, it felt more like he became an existence that I could never reach again than anything else. It felt… like he had gone ahead on his own and left us alone.

“But… I have a request for you, Big Brother,” Elliot said as he looked at Frederick. He looked nervous, and beside him, Katrina was clenching both her fist together as if she was encouraging Elliot to do his best. I wondered why?

“Uhm… since this is the academy and not the royal palace, please call me by my name like before instead of using such honorific. I don’t wish to hear anyone complaining about my special treatment later after all.”

Huh? Why did Katrina’s whole-hearted smile looked as if she was telling Elliot ‘Good job, you did it.’ when he said those words towards Frederick? Uhm, what’s the matter with you two, really? Are you both okay?

Frederick himself also looked surprised, but then his expression changed to that of refreshing smile immediately. He then said, “Sure. That’s the least I can do for you for the next one year, Elliot.”

When Elliot heard Frederick’s response, he smiled happily, and Katrina herself looked as if she was deeply moved by this development. She was even brought to tears! Seriously, what in the world happened between the two of them?

However, it seemed only I was perplexed by this, because when I looked around, the girls and Vince seemed to feel the same way as Katrina while Luke and Simeon was staring at this development with a cold look in their eyes. Rex even seemed troubled with this.

… Yup, something like this is still too hard for me after all. Still, it should be okay since the person himself wished for this… Urm, maybe it’s okay?

At that moment, a lot of sakura petals suddenly fell from the above. Just when I was wondering what happened, I heard an unpleasant creaking sound….

“KYA~!”

Followed by a human falling from above, who fell right on our table.

A~H! THE FOO~D! There’s still half left untouched, dammit!!! How dare you do this?! Haven’t you been taught not to waste food, you heathen?!

“Ou~ch….”

The one, who stood up amidst everyone’s bewilderment and our ruined food, was a pink haired girl.

.

..

….

… Yup, this kind of girl deserved a death penalty. Let her know how terrifying the grudge of wasted food is.
