13. Please divorce him (1)

So-hee did fall asleep.

The sun was up.

She managed to fall asleep at night like that, and her damned dream is terrible.

The novel’s episode that So-hee had written in her dream was still going on.

Countless spectators surrounded the podium where the execution table was set.

The main characters on the execution table were the families who had to decide Deon Filtmore’s fate.

Ariad and Deon’s inappropriate relationship disgusted Joshua.

Bandelli might also deny all the treasonous accusations against him as false despite commanding a spy to stalk Joshua.

Joshua intended to kill Deon, who was close to Bandelli in business.

However, most of the people who carried out the Filtmore’s family business supported Daniel, his older brother, who threatened the crown prince’s position.

Joshua planned to group all the distractions and get rid of them all at once.

“Go ahead.”

When the low voice was heard, the guillotine’s blade glittered brightly as it lifted.

Joshua’s first victim was Deon.

As his bloodshot eyes stared at Joshua, the sharp blade soon dampened Deon’s fierce spirit.

Deon’s grey head rolled over the platform with a quiet sound.

“Argh!”

Blood splattered here and there.

Ariad screamed at the sight of Deon’s decapitated body in that instant.

Joshua smiled as he looked at it.

“You are horrible.” Ariad muttered, watching him with hatred.

The strands of her once-beautiful hair, which hadn’t been managed for several days, were dried and twisted like a broom.

Her once-clear eyes were now bloodshot and blurry with tears.

Since she was deprived of hearty meals in prison, only her huge belly, carrying Deon’s child, had stuck out from her bony frame.

She kept swearing at the man who was laughing maniacally over her.

“This is why I didn’t want to be with you from the beginning. You’re only pretending to be a gentleman of dignity in front of everyone.”

His blood-red gaze was now fixed on the depths of her eyes.

“I should have gouge your critical eyes out every time you look down on me as if I’m a whore. It’s easy for you to treat everyone like they’re beneath you, right? You just threw me away like a toy now that you don’t need me anymore.”

“No, Ariad. It’s unnecessary for you to die along with Deon.”

“What?”

“You can live quietly as long as you don’t show your face in front of me for eternity.”

Joshua’s lips curled into a gentle smile.

Ariad screamed as she struggled to remove the binding on her limbs but she couldn’t

“You’re not going to die beautifully either!!”

Joshua dragged Ariad with her hands and feet tied together to the execution table.

A sharp blade flashed over her neck.

The man standing in front of her slowly anticipated the ending curtains of this tableau and spoke softly,”You don’t have to blame others of your own doing, Ariad.”

The harsh sound of a blade being slashed against skin silenced the air.

“This is all because of you, Ariad. Deon. Your parents. They’re all dead.”

“Joshua!!!” A sharp cry tore through the grim atmosphere.

“It’s all your fault, Ariad Pearson.  Including your child’s death.”

The blade fell off in an instant.

Joshua’s arrogant countenance faded in her vision.

At the end of the long darkness, So-hee grabbed her neck and jumped up.

“My neck! Help me!”

As she gasped in a cold sweat, she soon realized she still lay on a big bed.

“Wow. I wrote him myself. It turned out Joshua was a total psychopath in person. Such a scary man.” She murmured as she glanced around her surroundings.

She was glad that she was alone in the room.

If she faced Joshua after having such a vivid dream, she would have collapsed with bubbles foaming her mouth.

“Hey, I just barely fell asleep.”

Much to her chagrin, Joshua seemed to sleep well while she had stayed up all night.

He held her neatly throughout his sleep.

So-hee rubbed the dark circles underneath her eyes and shook her head hard to forget the terrible dream.

“Never! Never! You can’t be like this!”

So-hee clenched her fists, pledging to change her web novel’s plot.

Shortly afterwards, the maid came in with breakfast.

“Since you’re not feeling well, I prepared a light, watery porridge, My Lady.”

She put down the silver tray and assisted her with the meal.

As she ate quietly, she thought of that bizarre dream again and asked, “Hey, so you don’t have any after contraceptive pill?”

Unlike her dream, she was determined to look for contraceptives so she wouldn’t get pregnant with Deon’s child.

Why didn’t they give all those pills to her?

To be honest, if she weren’t with the child, her romance problems with Joshua would vanish.

She would be relieved, and her relationship with him would be more straightforward.

For some reason, the maid’s countenance turned cold.

“Yes, we do have them. But I don’t know why you’re looking for it. It won’t work if you take it now.”

“Huh? What do you mean?”

“Post-pregnancy pills wouldn’t work one hundred percent. If you had sex with someone and you didn’t take it within 72 hours, it’s useless.”

“Wow, I didn’t know you spoke so well today.”

So-hee glared at her, and the woman avoided her gaze.

Seventy-two hours.

She didn’t even have to calculate the date.

It had already been three days since she woke up in Deon’s bed, so she must be pregnant.

“I’m screwed. The synopsis would have done her wonders only at times like this. Only at times like this.” She murmured in disappointment.

“It’s going to be harder for you to go out starting today.” She added.

“I know. I’m like this so I can’t go out.”

“No. It’s hard to go out even if you’re all better because you have a lock on your door.”

“What?”

So-hee’s eyes grew bigger and the maid continued firmly.”Your Highness commanded me.”

“Oh, my.”

What should she do with this crazy Male Lead?

No wonder he was so sweet yesterday without saying much.

How benevolent of him for planning to lock her up!
