16. I want to know everything about you (1)

“Do it with me now, Joshua. I want to have sex.”

There was nothing but silence for a while.

So-hee’s arms were wrapped around his neck, so there was no way to check his countenance.

However, she assumed that her provocation wouldn’t go wrong because this man was lusting after her.

She was willing to sacrifice her body for now if she could slow down the plot development for a little.

“Have you gone mad?” His voice ringing in her ear was unexpected.

So-hee blinked and withdrew her arms slightly to check Joshua’s expression.

He looked down at her with one eyebrow raised.

“What’s wrong with you?”

“What?”

“Aren’t  you hurt?” His hand wiped the drops of water trickling on her face as he continued, “What are you talking about? You can’t even walk.”

So-hee could only blink her eyes at him in surprise.

“Let’s have sex when both of us are feeling better. We can’t do it because we have to take a shower afterward. You might have a fever again.”

“No. No. This isn’t it what I want.”

Since when did he become so rational when she just offered Ariad’s body for the taking?

Embarrassed, Sohee sniffed roughly while Joshua loosened her arms around his neck.

Then, he took the towel from the corner and wiped it on her frustrated countenance.

“I don’t think I can have sex with you unless it’s today. It should be today. It has to be today.” She mumbled as the towel covered her eyesight.

She started latching unto him as much as she could.

“Today…”

His large hand pressed the towel on So-hee’s mouth and face to wipe off the remaining water.

“Uh!”

He had already dropped his hand when she swung her arm at him.

She found Joshua staring at her after the towel was gone.

“Wake up, Ariad.” He said in a deep baritone as he carried her again in his arms.

Damn.

She failed.

She was disheartened as Joshua walked out of the bathroom.

Yet, she couldn’t just give up like this.

As soon as Joshua put her down the bed, she hugged his neck again so that he couldn’t straighten his spine.

“Actually, I feel so lonely when I’m alone.”

If she couldn’t tempt him with her body, she could tempt his heart instead.

She could try to evoke sympathy out of her situation.

“I didn’t receive any genuine affection from you, Joshua. That’s why I met other men and slept around. But I can’t satisfy this thirst no matter how often I do it with others.”

She sniffed deliberately in his ear.

She didn’t know how to fake her cries, so she settled for having a runny nose instead.

“I know that you are aware of my condition. You saw me trying to kill myself, right? Depression had swallowed me whole, and you’re the only cure.”

When there was no response, So-hee’s lips trembled in anxiety.

She heard a low sigh in her ear.

Did her tactics start to work on Joshua?

So-hee’s arms released his neck.

She glanced at him while the man stood straight and looked down at her.

She made herself sound as sad as she could.

“Stay with me, Joshua. Please”

“I’m right here next to you.”

“Please stay with me all day.”

“What?”

“Stay with me for a week or so.”

Will both of her legs be better in just a week?

“Please. I’m begging you to stay with me.”

She forced herself to shed as many tears as possible as she cast him a mournful look.

Joshua glanced at his wristwatch, folded his arms across his chest and examined her.

“Do you feel better if I’m with you all day?”

“Of course.” She replied quickly.

Joshua tilted his head with interest.

“Why? I thought you didn’t like—-”

So-hee didn’t even let him finish before she responded with, “I like it now.”

“What?”

“I mean… I like you so much now.”

That must have caught him off guard, but his expression remained cryptic.

So-hee forcefully grabbed Joshua’s face and brought him close enough that they could feel each other’s breaths.

They looked at each other for a long time before Ariad smacked his red lips with hers.

The light touch made Joshua hard in an instant.

His dark lashes trembled as his blood-red eyes widened in shock.

“Stay with me. Please.” She pleaded thinly.

She was sure that he would finally give in to her request.

There we go.

She could save Deon with her seductive prowess!

“You can do your work next to me. A week, no, two weeks should be enough.”

She almost didn’t notice that Joshua had been smiling at her the whole time as she continued to bargain.

His trembling pupils bled to black as if they contained the deepest sea.

Convinced of her success, So-hee smiled and thought she had it under control but Joshua turned his back on her once again..

“Where are you going?” She demanded urgently.

Joshua looked over his shoulder.

“I have to change my schedule around since you asked me to stay with you.” His  tone was soft and calm.

So-hee blinked.

“Do you want to come with me?”

She nodded quickly at Joshua’s question.

Then he bent over and picked her up again.

The scent of cool mint permeated at the tip of her nose.

As she heard his light steps while they exited the bedroom, So-hee buried her head at the crook of his neck.

“I’ll stay with you every day until you get better. You won’t have any time for depression.”

His soft, caring voice tickled her heart, causing the butterflies to flutter inside her stomach.

“I feel like that when I’m alone. That’s why I kept looking out the window. I can’t jump either since you have steel bars attached to them. I have no choice but to chew my tongue, hoping that if I do it too hard, I could finally die.”

So-hee forgot what she had done and buried her head deeper in shame.

Macon had worked for the royal family for over thirty years as a palace secretary.

The McKinleys had sat on the throne and reigned over all the aristocrats in their Empire for hundreds of years.

Joshua Mckinley, the crown prince, was noble since birth.

He was a perfect ruler who could exercise his power in just a single command.

As he stood in front of Joshua McKinley, he briefly emptied his mind of the sight he had never seen before.

“Macon, are you listening?”

When he heard his master’s low voice, he quickly took his dazed and confused spirit back inside his body.

“Oh, yes. When should I reschedule it, Your Highness?” Macon asked calmly, but he could hardly believe his eyes.

Joshua’s clothes were all rumpled when it should have been neat and clean as usual.
