From out of the blue, Kelly pushed a white box in front of her puzzled countenance.

“I’m sorry. It was ridiculous to ask you to divorce the crown prince. I should have apologized to you from the beginning. I hope it isn’t too late for you to forgive me.”

“Oh, that’s…. Well, it’s all right.”

That particular discussion didn’t really bother Sohee that much but Kelly still continued. “I heard that you had seen my diary. As you can see, I really like Joshua.”

“Ah.”

Sohee couldn’t really say anything bad about that because she could sense Kelly’s deep sincerity when it came to her feelings for Joshua.

“That’s why I did it.  Blinding jealousy had urged me to talk nonsense. I’m sorry.”

For someone who was supposed to be apologetic, Kelly looked quite calm and unbothered, but So-hee didn’t pay much attention to it.

Sohee only thought of Kelly’s acknowledgment of her possible hurt as amazing.

“I’ve always wondered about when I can finally give up my feelings for Joshua.   I don’t think it’ll be easy but I will try my best, Ariad.”

After that, Kelly gently placed the box she was holding on So-hee’s lap.

“I apologize in advance just in case I will become rude to you in the future without realizing it .”

Sohee found Kelly’s confidence and cryptic statement strange.

Still, she replied, “It’s all right.”

Then, she opened the box in front of her.

The whipped cream on the fruit cake was neatly arranged.

“Thank you for the food.”

As expected, her web novel’s heroine was still nice despite Sohee’s attempt of taking her place.

Smiling softly, she picked a teaspoon on the table.

“I think this is going to be delicious.”

Lips drawn in a straight line, Kelly started reciting what the cake was made of. “This cake was made with various fruits grounded in the sheet. Apple, blueberry, raspberry, kiwi, orange——”

“Oh. Those are my favorites!”

Sohee  scooped the cake readily with the teaspoon she was holding.

“It also had pineapple in it.” She uttered low with reluctance.

Kelly’s face became distorted in her vision.

“It’s pineapple, Ariad!”

Surprised by Kelly’s shout, she dropped the teaspoon in her hand.

Sohee was so flustered she couldn’t even chew.

Tears gradually formed from the blurred gold.

“I’m sorry, Ariad. I didn’t want to do this.”

A burning sensation had already spread throughout her limbs.

“What?”

The slow yet intense stinging pain on the expanse of her skin caused So-hee’s face to crumple.

“I hate you so much. That’s why I keep——You’re so f*cking ugly!”

Her tearful voice caused Sohee’s cream-smudged lips to tremble.

‘Kelly, you knew this was going to happen!’

She wanted to spit that out but her airway was swollen as she coughed hard.

Ariad couldn’t even drink and it turned out she was also allergic.

‘This body was damned from the start.’ So-hee lamented as she breathed heavily with her clogged airways.

It was difficult to fill her lungs with air.

She reached out to Kelly for help but her crying face had turned cold when she moved away from her.

Her shivering right arm was raised in the air for a few seconds before it dropped to the ground.

Soon, Kelly’s blond hair disappeared as her vision blurred.

‘That b*tch. Damn it.’

So-hee cursed inwardly before she got sucked into the familiar darkness.

It was the last day of a festival.

A subtle tension emanated in the conference room that didn’t match the exciting atmosphere outside at all.

They were there to discuss some urgent issues such as Daniel McKinley’s request for military service.

“We don’t have a lot of manpower, so I wonder if it will help.”A Marquis seated at the corner spoke carefully and everyone had the same sentiment.

If everyone looked at the big picture, a victory on the battlefield would be a great benefit to the Franklin Empire.

However, if they examined the small details, they already knew that countless Knights, which symbolized the power of the Royal Militia, had lost their lives.

Everyone observed one another to determine their reactions.

The Emperor’s darkened face was wrinkled.

Joshua’s hand, which seemed to have written something for a long while, stopped and placed a sealed document at the center of the marble table.

“This is the list of my Knights.” He announced bitterly.

People checking the list began to rumble.

In this list, the crown prince had written more than half of the Knights in his Order.

“Your son is on the list, too.”  Someone next to him informed him sadly.

Count Carlywood, who was sitting in the corner, closed his eyes sorrowfully before opening them.

When his gaze landed on the document in his hand, he sighed.

[Hugh Carlywood]

His son’s name was written on the list and he almost couldn’t believe it.

He should have scolded him harder for joining the Crown Prince’s Order!

Count Carlywood bit his lower lip when he recalled his son grinning at him after announcing he had passed the test.

He watched the crown prince, who made a unilateral decision, with resentment.

Macon approached the circle carefully and whispered something in Joshua’s ear.

He jumped up from his seat.

“I have an emergency, so I’ll get up first.”
