61. In half a year (2)

The Upper Society became noisy.

The social world was buzzing. Rumor had it that Ariad had returned to Latvea and became a fait accompli. Her unconventional move of attending tomorrow’s ball as Charles Endro’s partner had spread everywhere in a day and the rumor had reached the Crown Prince’s Palace, where Kelly was.

“Why are you only giving me this money——-”

As the woman glanced at Kelly’s countenance multiple times, she looked up at the exact moment when she could only see the shaggy top of her brown head. Kelly laid her face down on the table.

“It’s only half the amount you promised———”

Kelly, who had been silent for a long time without raising her head, straightened up and threw the teacup on the table without hesitation. *CLANK* The teacup broke into pieces when it passed through the woman’s brown hair and crashed to the wall.

The woman’s shoulders trembled when Kelly shouted, “You didn’t even get the job done properly, so why are you trying to get all the money?”

It was a hoarse, exhausted voice coming out of her throat. A cool light shone in Kelly’s eyes as she looked down at the woman.

“You said she was confirmed dead!” She screamed with bloodshot eyes and the woman repeatedly bowed her head.

“Well, I’ve definitely checked that she had vomited blood and even stopped breathing….”

Even Blue Levi was also in high spirits. Obviously, Ariad wasn’t in a state where she could be revived. Anyone could see that her heart had stopped beating due to the sight of flies on her corpse-like complexion. Didn’t she hear it clearly that the doctor said that Deon should prepare his mind because there was no hope at all? With that, Blue Levi set out on her way, convinced of the woman’s death. Now, she was back in Latvia. It was impossible without the Hand of God’s interference.

“Then are you saying that there’s another body going around now?”

Kelly burst out laughing like a madman, saying so. At the grotesque laugh, Blue-Anne shivered and had no choice but to bow her head again.

“If you give me one more chance————”

“Get out.”

“What?”

“Take that money and leave Latvea as soon as possible.” She said firmly.

Blue Levi fiddled with the money bag in her hand. It was too bad that she only took half of the amount she had expected. Standing still like that, an angry voice poured out again in front of her.

“Leave now! Get out of sight!”

Blue Levi eventually got up from her seat with her teeth clenched like that, feeling ashamed as to why she, the queen’s servant, was treated like this. She went out and the room was silent again.

Kelly buried her face in the desk again. She couldn’t breathe well because the air around her was getting thin. Only her uneven, rough breathing was heard in the silence.

The huge door of the ballroom opened. The main character, who caused quite a big stir in the social world, entered. Ariad’s fully decorated presence drew all the attention to her as if she had erased everything about her wrongdoings. So-hee felt a little dizzy at the blatant gaze that was pouring out scarier than she expected, but she quickly regained her senses. Looking for her ex-servant, Mary, was her goal. Thanks to Ariad’s trashy reputation, no human being would dare stick to her and bother her while doing her mission. Charles Endro was perfect except for the fact that he was a lecherous pervert. From the moment he entered the ballroom holding her hand, he refused to stay away from her and it had already been an hour. So-hee tried to separate from the troublesome man, but he eventually accompanied her to the bathroom.

“Lady, where are you going?” So-hee swung around to the man chasing her.

“Toilet.”

“Oh, I’ll wait in front of you.”

So-hee smirked a little. “I have constipation.”

“What?”

“I think I’ll be sitting in the bathroom for a long time because I have constipation, is that alright?”

With her outstanding appearance and determined voice, news of Ariad’s constipation became known to the surrounding nobles. Damn, it!  As So-hee felt the attention being drawn to her, she cursed Endro in her mind and added, “Come to think of it. My shit will definitely smell so bad due to constipation. I don’t recommend you wait for me.”

“Oh, the smell——-”

“Oh, are you surprised? Was I too honest?”

As the man’s face paled, So-hee made the final decision. “Don’t be too surprised. Your flower smells of poop, too.”

So-hee smiled brazenly at her shameless comment. Soon after, Charles, who didn’t even love the smell of Ariad’s poop, nodded stiffly and moved away. Now that she had successfully removed the leech, the next thing she needed to do was——— Perhaps, Mary belonged to the Crown Prince’s Palace, and if she was still working there, she was likely to be with Kelly. Kelly didn’t appear to have arrived yet, so Sohee turned out of the ballroom. So-hee, who sat in the corner so as not to be seen, scanned the place eagerly. So-hee’s eyes became drawn to one person while the large crowd came and went. Black hair that seemed darker under bright lights and red eyes that are cooler than before. Soon after, their eyes met at a fairly long distance. It was Joshua.
