I'll Tell You Every Day

Chapter 33: Chapter 33

Shuren watched as Lanfen laid in his arms. He had given her a shot of the drug he procured from abroad. The drug heightened one's pain and pleasure receptors but dulled everything else meaning, her vision and hearing would blur but her sensitivity would increase.

Right now, he was only waiting until the drug had worked its way into her system. When he saw her relaxing completely in his arms with her eyes clouded, he laid her on top of the bed before standing up. He walked towards the door and opened it.

"Boss." Fang Bao and his men greeted him.

Shuren nodded and handed him the suitcase.

"Keep her drugged. Don't let her sober up." He instructed as he loosened his tie.

Fang Bao nodded and Shuren left the room.

"You heard him." Fang Bao handed the suitcase to one of the men.

"Make sure to get good shots." He smiled knowingly and the men nodded.

After seeing to it that the men were set, he left the room as well. Afterall, Lanfen wasn't their only enemy.

He proceeded back towards the secret hallway to catch up with Shuren.

"Boss. What's next?"

"Is Weisheng ready on his side?"

Fang Bao nodded.

"Just a few more small fries left to be identified." He added.

"Good. Don't let a single one of them escape." With that, Shuren re-entered his car.

Now, it was time to deal with Yu Yanlin and Lanfen's father, Kang Wei.

After their little talk, Liu Jin bathed Daiyu and put her to sleep. However, the child clung onto him tightly and wouldn't let go. Deciding to leave once she fell asleep, he got under the sheets to join her. However, with his own fatigue overwhelming him, he soon fell asleep beside her instead.

When morning came, Nana went to wake her son up for breakfast. But upon entering his room, she saw that it was empty.

'Is he already up?' She pouted.

Deciding to look around, she spotted a table by the large French window. On top laid an open album, some glue, several pictures, and a camera. She inspected the photographs and couldn't resist the smile that had crept up her face.

There were several pictures of Daiyu, most of which had her smiling towards the viewfinder. She scanned through the photos, her heart growing warmer with each of them.

for visiting.

She was aware of Daiyu's situation. The child had lost both parents at a tender age and was lost to the streets for several years. She was happy to see that while the child might have had a harsh time growing up, she had not lost the life and spark in her eyes.

Just then, a thought came to her.

'Oh! Is he with her right now?'

She decided to check. She had a maid accompany her to Daiyu's room and they softly knocked on her door. When no answer came, she gently pushed the door open. The sight that welcomed her had her gushing in warmth.

Her son was asleep on the bed with his arm spread open. Daiyu's little head was rested on his arm and her own arms were wrapped tightly around his torso. Sunlight poured heavily from the windows and both children looked like glowing little angels.

'So cute!!! Picture! I need to take a picture!!!'

Just then, she remembered the camera she saw inside Liu Jin's room. She rushed out to get it before snapping several photos of the children.

'If I had known, I would have gotten him a better model while I was abroad.' She pouted. She took a mental note to ask Shuren to go shopping with her. She was going to fully support her son's new passion!

"Madam?" The maid asked.

"Let's have them sleep in for a little bit longer. They look so comfortable together, I would feel terrible to set them apart."

The maid nodded. Even she did not have the heart to wake the children up. With that, both women left the room and gently closed the door behind them.

That morning, Daiyu woke up first. She groggily rubbed her eyes and waited for her vision to steady. The sight that greeted her next surprised her. Her Jin-gege was beside her!

Feeling excitement rush through her blood, she quickly got on all fours and inspected his face. It really was Jin-gege!

She giggled.

Liu Jin heard her soft laughter. He felt the familiar warmth of her little body and instantly knew that it was Daiyu. Without opening his eyes, he stretched out his hand and pulled her back into his embrace.

Daiyu giggled again and rubbed her face against his chest.

"Why do you like doing that?" Liu Jin asked, still half asleep.

"Jin-gege smells nice. Like a warm pillow."

" I smell like sleep? Then doesn't that mean I smell bad?" He frowned.

Daiyu shook her head.

"Jin-gege smells nice. Vewy nice."

He smiled.

"Well, whatever floats your boat." He turned his body to one side to hug her closer to him.

She stayed there in his arms for a little while longer before her tummy started complaining. He chuckled.

"Let's get ready for breakfast." He rubbed the sleep away from his eyes and smiled upon seeing her face.

"I want to wake up to my baby Daiyu every morning." He casually remarked.

Daiyu blushed before nodding vigorously. She too wanted to wake up to her Jin-gege every morning!

Liu Jin yawned and helped her up. They freshened up in the bath before going down to have breakfast.

Meanwhile Yu Yanlin sat inside a black car with heavily tinted windows. He was waiting for his men's information that was scheduled to be delivered to him at ten in the morning. He sorted through documents, flipping through pages as he studied this month's income.

He was not an ordinary man. In fact, he was one of Kang Wei's most trusted men. He handled one of Kang Wei's most profitable drug routes and was one of those who brought the most income into the gang. He was competent, quick-witted, and sharp. Perhaps his only downfall was his obsession with Lanfen. He had watched the woman grow up and had always itched to get her in bed.

Initially, Kang Wei wasn't against giving his daughter away to Yanlin. The man had earned his trust and he had no specific attachment to his daughter anyway. But when the Kang's suffered a blow during the economic crisis, he needed to increase cash flow into the family to save their businesses. As such, he went back on his word and had Lanfen arranged to marry some other businessman instead.

In his anger, Yanlin started scheming against the old man. His first step was to use Lanfen's weakness against her, which was tempting her with the prospect of becoming Liu Shuren's wife. Of course, the woman buckled at the thought quickly. Soon, she was with him in bed, moaning under him every night.

After getting rid of Nana, Yanlin managed to convince Kang Wei of the benefits of having Lanfen marry into the Liu family. With the old man's permission, Lanfen proceeded with her marriage and was currently the Madam Liu.

While all this was happening, Yanlin had been conscripting men, building his own force to a size enough to rival Kang Wei's. He had also been conniving with suppliers, building his own routes, and converting Kang Wei's existing ones into his own.

The next step in his plan was to absorb the Liu Enterprise to fill his coffers with cash. Having both men, power, and money, Yanlin was sure that he could easily crush Kang Wei by then. With the old man out of the way, he could take Lanfen away by force without difficulties.

However, recently, he had been swamped with problems. Several of his routes had been exposed and he was sure that he had a mole within his ranks. Just when he was suspecting the police to be hot on his tracks, his men had found an informant that said otherwise. Today was the day his men were supposed to meet this man to squeeze out the name of the traitor.

A knock came and Yanlin rolled down his window half-way.

"Who is it?" He asked, going straight to the point.

"Boss, its Kang Wei. The old man has been messing with us."

Anger simmered within Yanlin. So the old man was finally aware of the inner rebellion happening within his gang?

'Fine. It's earlier than planned but I guess its time to show the old man who's boss.' He gritted his teeth and balled his fists.

"Summon the men. We'll be moving soon." He instructed the man from the window before rolling it up. The man bowed and watched as the car drove off. When the car had left, he picked up his phone and proceeded to dial a number.

"Yo! What's up?" A familiar voice came through the phone.

"Fang Bao, tell the boss that I've done my job from Yanlin's end."

"Nice. It's time for the men on Kang Wei's side to move then. Keep it up and report any anomalies to me."

"Right."
