I'll Tell You Every Day

Liu Jin held on to his phone tightly. It was almost ten in the evening and there was still no news of Daiyu and Zhihao.

Earlier, Nana had brought him food but he had left it untouched. With how worried he was right now, he knew that he couldn't swallow anything down.

He closed his eyes tightly, furrowed his brows, and let out a deep sigh. He hated being a child. He hated being powerless. Right now, all he wanted to do was to go out there and look for Daiyu.

'Please. Please. Don't take her away from me again. Please.'

He gripped his phone tightly, his knuckles turning white.

Meanwhile, Zhihao and Daiyu had arrived at the gas station. Zhihao gently let Daiyu down and they entered the small convenience store where he saw some staff working.

"Excuse me. Do you mind if we use your phone for a while? We're currently lost and we want to call our parents." Zhihao called a staff's attention.

"Oh my!" The staff gasped upon seeing the children. They were so cute! They had little animal ear headbands on their heads and they wore matching pink shirts. They must have come from the amusement park. But what were they doing out here? The park was an hour's drive away.

"Hello?" Zhihao asked again upon receiving no reply.

"O-oh right! Sure thing! Hold on." The staff member went behind the counters and brought out a phone.

"Thank you very much." He sighed upon finally seeing a chance at their rescue. He took the phone and was about to dial when he stopped.

"Hahaha." He laughed awkwardly.

He didn't know their numbers!!!

"Uh" He slowly turned around and faced Daiyu. Daiyu looked at him innocently, her eyes wide and her cheeks blushing.

'Does this little dumpling know? I doubt she knows'

"Xiao Yu"

"Yes?" She tilted her head to one side.

"Do you do you happen to know your Jin-gege's number?"

Daiyu nodded her head vigorously. Zhihao's eyes widened.

"Really???"

Daiyu nodded again. Liu Jin had repeatedly told her his number and had made sure she memorized it. Every night, while he dried her hair after their bath, he would ask her to recite his phone number, her address, the alphabet, and the numbers one to a hundred. He even prepared a lost child's tag for her. That was how much Liu Jin feared losing her.

Daiyu took the phone from Zhihao's hands and dialed her Jin-gege's number. After just one ring, the call connected.

"Hello?" A familiar voice came from the other line.

"Jin-gege!" She excitedly greeted.

"Xiao Yu!" Liu Jin quickly stood up, surprising the adults in the room.

"Jin-gege!" She called again.

"Xiao Yu, where are you?"

"Jin-gege! Daiyu misses you lots lots lots lots lots

"Okay, okay give me the phone now Xiao Yu." Zhihao interrupted her and she pouted but handed the phone over obediently.

"JIN. WE'RE LOST. SEND HELP."

Liu Jin frowned upon hearing Zhihao's panicking voice but let out a sigh of relief.

"Where are you? I'm coming right now." He replied calmly.

By this time, Nana, Shuren, Wang Jing, and Butler Tang's attention were on him as they tried to listen in on their conversation.

"We're at a gas station by the highway. Hold on, I'll send you the address." Zhihao then went to ask the staff for the address while Daiyu took the phone and continued talking to Liu Jin.

"Jin-gege!"

"Xiao Yu" His eyes started tearing up upon hearing her voice. She was safe. She was safe. He repeatedly told himself.

"Jin-gege, Daiyu wants to see you."

"I want to see you too." He wiped his eyes and put on a brave font, not wanting her to know how shaken up he was right now.

"Jin-gege It's cold without Jin-gege." She pouted and he smiled bitterly.

"It's okay. I'll be there soon. Stay close to Zhihao okay?"

"Owkay." Daiyu nodded obediently.

She then handed the phone back to Zhihao and he recited the address to Liu Jin. After taking down the gas station's location, Liu Jin ended the call reluctantly but not before promising Daiyu that he'd be there soon. Afterwards, he handed the address to his father and the family left to look for the children immediately.

Zhihao sighed. It sure was a long day. He looked over to Daiyu and smiled.

'This little dumpling was rather brave too.'

"Good job, Xiao Yu. Without your help, we would have waited for much longer." He patted her head and she smiled back at him.

"Now, why don't we eat while we wait? I heard that it'll be an hour before they get here."

Daiyu nodded. The biscuits barely filled her up so she was rather hungry right now.

Zhihao then bought them some cup noodles to warm themselves up. While it was already summer, the nights were still rather cold.

While waiting for the noodles to cook, he looked down and saw that Daiyu's legs were a bit swollen.

'Wait. Is it swollen? Or is she just fat?' Zhihao pondered.

"Xiao Yu, do your legs hurt?"

Daiyu nodded. She had been walking all day and she was tired.

Zhihao then bent down and started massaging her legs for her. Daiyu watched. Her Zhihao-gege's hands were very gentle. She smiled.

"Zhihao-gege, thank you!"

Zhihao chuckled and nodded.

Daiyu didn't know that her Zhihao-gege was this gentle. She was sure that her Jin-gege would always take care of her but she didn't know that her Zhihao-gege was the same

"Daiyu is very lucky." She stated.

"Mmm?" He asked.

Daiyu didn't reply but only smiled in return.

Soon, the noodles were ready and they ate in silence. Afterwards, Daiyu fell asleep while she rested her head on Zhihao's shoulder.

After an hour of waiting, Liu Jin and the adults had finally arrived.

"JIN!!!" Forgetting that Daiyu was resting her head on his shoulder, Zhihao abruptly stood up and ran to hug Liu Jin.

Liu Jin cringed as Zhihao embraced him but patted the boy's back to comfort him.

Meanwhile, Daiyu had woken up to Zhihao's sudden outburst. After rubbing the sleep away from her eyes, she saw her Jin-gege from a far.

"Jin-gege!!!" She called loudly.

"Xiao Yu!" Liu Jin threw Zhihao to the side and quickly ran towards Daiyu. Daiyu too ran towards him.

However, as she ran, her tiny legs had given way due to the day's fatigue and she stumbled down to the floor.

Tears started forming in her eyes but she bravely wiped them away. Her knees were painful but right now, Jin-gege was more important. She stood back up and continued running.

"Jin-gege! Jin-gege!" She ran into his arms and hugged him as tight as her little arms could.

"Xiao Yu!" Liu Jin hugged her back, his heart basking in her familiar warmth.

"Jin-gege!" She started sobbing. Finally, the day's events had dawned on her and all the anxiety and fear that she had been suppressing came crashing onto her.

Liu Jin gently rubbed her back and peppered her face with kisses.

"You were brave, Xiao Yu. Very brave." He comforted her as she continued crying.

"Jin-gege! Jin-gege!" She continued calling, afraid that they'd part again.

Wang Jing watched the scene, his heart clenching but his lips smiling. She was safe. Thank god she was safe. For a moment back there, he thought that he had lost her again.

Meanwhile, Zhihao's little heart broke. Liu Jin had abandoned him!

But not before long, Butler Tang had picked him up and gently rubbed his back.

"U-Uncle Tang." He called as his eyes began tearing up. Butler Tang smiled.

"Thank you for taking care of our young mistress, Young Master Zhihao."

Zhihao's heart felt warm. Butler Tang was so nice!

Tears began flowing from the little boy's eyes as he hugged Butler Tang's neck tightly. Butler Tang smiled and continued gently rubbing his back. He was quite fond of this boy. He had a rather loud mouth but he was very sweet.

After calming down, Daiyu wiped her tears away.

"Let's go home." Liu Jin gently held her hand and she nodded.

However, before they could reach Wang Jing, Daiyu stopped as she suddenly remembered something. She let go of Liu Jin's hand and ran towards Zhihao. Liu Jin followed behind her closely.

"Zhihao-gege!"

Zhihao, who was currently in the middle of boarding the Zheng's family car, looked back and saw Daiyu running towards him.

"Xiao Yu"

Daiyu stopped in front of him, panting.

"Zhihao-gege, thank you vewy much!" She tiptoed and kissed his cheek softly.

Zhihao blushed.

"Zhihao-gege! You are Daiyu's hero!" She beamed happily and he blushed even harder.

"R-really?"

She nodded her head.

"Zhihao-gege, you were really cool!" Her eyes sparkled and he scratched the back of his head shyly.

Liu Jin, who was watching their exchange, was burning with jealousy. Nevertheless, he could not deny that Zhihao had saved the day although he was also the cause of the problem in the first place.

He approached the boy and patted his arm.

"Thanks. I owe you one." He sincerely thanked him.

Zhihao looked at him, stunned, before grinning widely.

"Jin! You really love me!"

"Shut up!!!"
