I'll Tell You Every Day

Today, Daiyu took her customary first day of school pictures at the Wang Mansion.

"Wow! Our Xiao Yu sure has grown!" Xiao Nuan commented.

"Yeah. FatterOUCH!"

Liu Jin jabbed Zhihao hard with his elbow.

"Your look really cute, Xiao Yu." Liu Jin commented.

"Hehe." Daiyu giggled.

"Jin-gege too!"

"Mmm?"

Daiyu tiptoed and kissed his cheek.

"Jin-gege is very handsome!"

Liu Jin blushed and shyly scratched the back of his head while Zhihao rolled his eyes.

"Let's go, let's go!" He urged.

"Right." Liu Jin nodded.

"Buhbye grandpaw! Buhbye Uncle Tang!" Daiyu kissed them goodbye.

"Have fun in school." Wang Jing gently patted her head.

Daiyu nodded and all three children entered the Zheng family car. Daiyu rolled the windows down and waved them goodbye as the car drove further and further away.

Daiyu's second year in primary school went by smoothly. At the school festival, her class performed Cinderella and Daiyu played the role of the fairy godmother. Instead of reciting her lines, she sang them and surprised the audience with her beautiful and clear voice. Wang Jing was extremely proud of her and would not stop bragging about her for many weeks after that.

Meanwhile, Liu Jin and Zhihao's class performed The Hunchback of Notre Dame where Zhihao played the role of Quasimodo while Liu Jin was Esmeralda. Nana had fun dressing the boys up and Victoria took plenty of their pictures together. Many years from now, the boys would look back to this moment and regret every agreeing to the role. But for now, they dressed up and enjoyed the show.

For Liu Jin's birthday, Daiyu made a set of three stuffed toys a dog one for Liu Jin, a bear one for Zhihao, and a bunny one for herself. Liu Jin was so happy with his gift that he slept with it every night. He treasured every gift Daiyu had ever given him but this one was special. It had Daiyu's name sewed onto its heart.

"It's so that Daiyu will always have a space in Jin-gege's heart!"

"Hehe." He giggled upon remembering her explanation.

Because of that, he sewed his name onto Daiyu's bunny too. He too wanted a space in Daiyu's heart. But he was much more possessive than Daiyu so he sewed his name in big bold letters. He wanted a bigger space! If he could, he wanted all the space in her heart!

For winter break, the children went skiing. Wang Jing wasn't really fond of the idea because he was worried about Daiyu getting into an accident. Still, he didn't have the heart to reject her so he doubled her security instead.

Nao Nao joined them on their trip too. By this time, he was no longer a puppy and had grown much bigger than Daiyu. Daiyu still treated him like a baby though and Nao Nao enjoyed the way Daiyu spoiled him.

After winter break, the children celebrated Zhihao's birthday together. This year, Daiyu gave Zhihao and Liu Jin caps with their names sewed onto the front. Zhihao's cap was yellow while Liu Jin's cap was blue. Daiyu had one too and hers was pink. The three children wore their matching caps and had a lot of photos taken together. Victoria was so happy about their friendship that she printed out a large version of the picture and proudly displayed it on their living room wall.

After the party, the children returned to school. Before long, it was finally time for the yearly sports fest again. This year, Daiyu decided to join the tug of war. She was positioned at the very back and her team was up against Zhenzhen and her posse. Of course, no one could beat Daiyu. She puffed her cheeks and stood her ground, her weight easily giving her team the victory.

"Of course we'd lose! Just look at how fat Daiyu is!" Zhenzhen gritted her teeth.

"Talk to me again when you win, Zhenzhen." Daiyu retorted and did her infamous hair flip. Her Zhihao-gege would be very proud!

Meanwhile, the boys participated in dodgeball. Liu Jin and Zhihao's team won by a landslide. The way they worked together without needing words between them destroyed the opposing team in a matter of minutes. Of course, General Shen was very proud of them. Their training was surely showing results.

After their games, the children enjoyed the rest of the festival by visiting the annual caf.

"Daiyu wants to learn how to bake!" She turned her head to face Liu Jin.

"Okay. Let's ask Grandfather Wang to hire a teacher for you."

"No man!!! What if she gets fatter?!"

Daiyu puffed her cheeks and stomped on Zhihao's foot as hard as she could.

"Daiyu is beautiful!" She furrowed her brows.

Liu Jin chuckled and patted her head.

"Mmm! Xiao Yu is beautiful."

"Hehe!" She giggled.

This year as well, they went to the haunted house again. Daiyu was still scared. However, instead of running away, she put her self-defense skills to good use. By the time they found the exit, she could proudly claim that she had 'faced her fears.' For the staff, on the other hand, well, let's just say that they found a new fear. A fierce baby Daiyu was quite frightening!

After the sportsfest, the children returned to school. But not before long, they had their annual three-day holiday. Like last year, they returned to the water park. Nana, Shuren, and the twins came along but didn't swim. They enjoyed the comfort of the hotel rooms like Zhihao's parents did.

Of course, Butler Tang enjoyed another tan with Daiyu. This year, Daiyu took her time applying tanning oil on his back before giving him a good massage. She had surprisingly strong arms and Butler Tang quite enjoyed it.

"Uncle Tang, stronger?" She asked.

"Yes, please."

Daiyu got up and started stepping on his back.

"Wai Xiao Yu wait!!!"

"Jin! Jin!! Uncle Tang is dying!!!"

After their little holiday, their next break was Daiyu's birthday.

"Jin-gege!" Daiyu crawled onto his lap as usual.

"Mmm?" He asked as Daiyu cupped his cheeks with her little hands.

"Daiyu wants to match with you!"

"For your birthday?"

She nodded.

"Okay. What do you want to go as?"

Daiyu squealed in happiness and began planning for her birthday. This year, she decided to go as Rapunzel while Liu Jin went as Flynn Rider. Nao Nao went as Pascal, Rapunzel's chameleon and Zhihao went as Maximus, the police horse.

"I'm not even going to ask" Liu Jin cringed upon seeing Zhihao flaunt his white horse onesie.

"Ask me, ask me!"

"No."

This year, Daiyu got a mini ice cream truck from her Yunxi-gege. After her pink car broke down, she wrote a long letter to Yunxi, explaining how much she loved the car and how sorry she was that she broke it. Along with the letter came several photos of her enjoying the car with Nao Nao beside her.

In response, Yunxi sent her the ice cream truck with a letter saying how much he loved Daiyu's pictures. He asked her to write more often and wished her the happiest birthday.

To match her new truck, the Xiao twins made her an ice cream parlor uniform. They made a matching hat and tie for Nao Nao too. Wang Jing indulged her and had her truck equipped with real ice cream as she rode around their gated community, handing out ice cream to children while escorted by her bodyguards.

Yi Jie had sent her a gift too. She gave Daiyu a bunny backpack with her name on it. Ever since her departure, the two had often been exchanging letters. Their letters were mostly just pictures of their everyday life with a few words as caption. While Daiyu might not know much about this pretty jiejie, she enjoyed receiving her letters every month and would diligently reply to them.

After all the fun and celebration, it was time for the year-end exams again. Of course, as usual, Zhihao had been wailing and suffering from Liu Jin's strict tutoring. Still, he truly appreciated Liu Jin's patience and diligently studied under his guidance.

When the test results came out, it was time for them to move up another grade but not before the annual school ball. This year, Daiyu wore a gold ballgown while Liu Jin wore a black suit

Zhihao skipped this year's ball because Victoria took him on a trip abroad to celebrate the results of his exams. While Victoria may not seem like a doting parent, she did celebrate all of Zhihao's little victories. She loved her idiot son dearly and would not miss the chance to show it.

After the ball, Liu Jin's summer vacation began with another trip with Shuren. The father and son pair seemed to have come to a silent agreement to make this a yearly tradition and Nana was in full support of it.

During this period of time, the twins were growing up well too. Daiyu would visit them every Saturday and she did her best to take care of them. She would read stories for them and even though the twins didn't understand a word she said, they always quieted down whenever she spoke. They seemed to love Daiyu's voice and would calm down whenever they heard it.

Because of her constant reading and practice, Daiyu's pronunciation of words improved greatly too. However, her adorable habit of calling herself by her name would remain for a little bit longer.
